Private Set Intersection (PSI) protocols can securely compute the intersection of the private sets on the server and the client without revealing additional data. This work introduces the concept of ...Privacy-Preserving Feature Retrieved Private Set Intersection (<inline-formula> <tex-math notation="LaTeX">\mathsf {P^{2}FRPSI} </tex-math></inline-formula>). In <inline-formula> <tex-math notation="LaTeX">\mathsf {P^{2}FRPSI} </tex-math></inline-formula> protocols, the client can obtain the intersection that satisfies a given predicate without revealing the predicate and additional data. We formally define the <inline-formula> <tex-math notation="LaTeX">\mathsf {P^{2}FRPSI} </tex-math></inline-formula> protocol, including its inputs, outputs, functionality, and security. To achieve the privacy guarantee in <inline-formula> <tex-math notation="LaTeX">\mathsf {P^{2}FRPSI} </tex-math></inline-formula> protocols, a new two-party protocol is designed, namely Secure Secret Shared Retrieval (<inline-formula> <tex-math notation="LaTeX">\mathsf {S^{3}R} </tex-math></inline-formula>), which can be used to securely determine whether each item on the server satisfies the predicate. We construct an <inline-formula> <tex-math notation="LaTeX">\mathsf {S^{3}R} </tex-math></inline-formula> protocol and prove its security in the semi-honest model. On the basis of this, we design an efficient OT-based <inline-formula> <tex-math notation="LaTeX">\mathsf {P^{2}FRPSI} </tex-math></inline-formula> protocol and an easy-to-implement DH-based <inline-formula> <tex-math notation="LaTeX">\mathsf {P^{2}FRPSI} </tex-math></inline-formula> protocol and prove that they are secure in the semi-honest model. Our implementation shows that the OT-based <inline-formula> <tex-math notation="LaTeX">\mathsf {P^{2}FRPSI} </tex-math></inline-formula> protocol can perform the matching for about 1000K items in 3.8 seconds with a single thread. Moreover, the DH-based <inline-formula> <tex-math notation="LaTeX">\mathsf {P^{2}FRPSI} </tex-math></inline-formula> can perform the matching for about 7000K items in one hour with four threads, with communication totaling 1456 MB, while the OT-based <inline-formula> <tex-math notation="LaTeX">\mathsf {P^{2}FRPSI} </tex-math></inline-formula> protocol requires 1673 MB.
The study's aim was to explore the associations between meditation, extended human capacities, and synchronistic experiences. 725 participants completed questionnaires and online tasks assessing ...these variables before and after engaging in personal growth workshops. The results showed that 1) meditators scored higher than non-meditators on noetic experiences and beliefs, and pre-workshop synchronistic experiences; 2) meditation frequency was associated with higher noetic experiences and beliefs, and pre-workshop synchronistic experiences; 3) meditation-based workshop participants reported more synchronistic experiences during their workshop than non-meditation-based workshop participants; and 4) noetic experiences mediated the association between meditation frequency and pre-workshop synchronistic experiences.
In this work, Al2O3 coating effect on morphology, structure and optoelectronic properties of Si/SnO2/Al2O3 porous matrix composites (PMCs) were investigated. A three-staked thin layers deposited on a ...〈100〉 oriented silicon substrate made these composites. First, porous silicon layers were achieved by electrochemical etching method. Then Al2O3 and SnO2 layers were successively deposited by physical and chemical vapor deposition, respectively. Morphological and micro-structural properties of the as prepared composites were evaluated by Scanning electron microscope, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. Results proved that Al2O3 concentration alters notably the porosity of the PMCs.Variable angle spectroscopic ellipsometry (SE) revealed a high correlation between the optical constants (n, k) and the PMC microstructure. Impedance spectroscopy revealed a semiconductor-metallic transition at high frequency in the temperature range between 340 and 410 °C.
This review highlights lipid molecules identified in the structures of photosynthetic complexes and discusses roles of lipids in the assembly and functions of photosynthetic complexes in plants, ...algae, and cyanobacteria.
Abstract
In the thylakoid membrane of cyanobacteria and chloroplasts, many proteins involved in photosynthesis are associated with or integrated into the fluid bilayer matrix formed by four unique glycerolipid classes, monogalactosyldiacylglycerol, digalactosyldiacylglycerol, sulfoquinovosyldiacylglycerol, and phosphatidylglycerol. Biochemical and molecular genetic studies have revealed that these glycerolipids play essential roles not only in the formation of thylakoid lipid bilayers but also in the assembly and functions of photosynthetic complexes. Moreover, considerable advances in structural biology have identified a number of lipid molecules within the photosynthetic complexes such as PSI and PSII. These data have provided important insights into the association of lipids with protein subunits in photosynthetic complexes and the distribution of lipids in the thylakoid membrane. Here, we summarize recent high-resolution observations of lipid molecules in the structures of photosynthetic complexes from plants, algae, and cyanobacteria, and evaluate the distribution of lipids among photosynthetic protein complexes and thylakoid lipid bilayers. By integrating the structural information into the findings from biochemical and molecular genetic studies, we highlight the conserved and differentiated roles of lipids in the assembly and functions of photosynthetic complexes among plants, algae, and cyanobacteria.
Systems biologists study interaction data to understand the behaviour of whole cell systems, and their environment, at a molecular level. In order to effectively achieve this goal, it is critical ...that researchers have high quality interaction datasets available to them, in a standard data format, and also a suite of tools with which to analyse such data and form experimentally testable hypotheses from them. The PSI-MI XML standard interchange format was initially published in 2004, and expanded in 2007 to enable the download and interchange of molecular interaction data. PSI-XML2.5 was designed to describe experimental data and to date has fulfilled this basic requirement. However, new use cases have arisen that the format cannot properly accommodate. These include data abstracted from more than one publication such as allosteric/cooperative interactions and protein complexes, dynamic interactions and the need to link kinetic and affinity data to specific mutational changes.
The Molecular Interaction workgroup of the HUPO-PSI has extended the existing, well-used XML interchange format for molecular interaction data to meet new use cases and enable the capture of new data types, following extensive community consultation. PSI-MI XML3.0 expands the capabilities of the format beyond simple experimental data, with a concomitant update of the tool suite which serves this format. The format has been implemented by key data producers such as the International Molecular Exchange (IMEx) Consortium of protein interaction databases and the Complex Portal.
PSI-MI XML3.0 has been developed by the data producers, data users, tool developers and database providers who constitute the PSI-MI workgroup. This group now actively supports PSI-MI XML2.5 as the main interchange format for experimental data, PSI-MI XML3.0 which additionally handles more complex data types, and the simpler, tab-delimited MITAB2.5, 2.6 and 2.7 for rapid parsing and download.
Few studies have investigated the imagery experiences that occur during scale responses on the mental imagery vividness scale. The current study examined and categorizes such imagery experiences. A ...total of 68 adults were presented with visual items of the Japanese version of the Plymouth Sensory Imagery Questionnaire (Psi-Q) online. They were then asked to write freely about the imagery experiences. The results of the KJ method revealed three major categories of such experiences: cases in which i) only visual imagery, ii) unspecified sensory modality imagery, and iii) an emotional experience occurred. Next, the visual imagery was classified along six axes (movement, source, realism, presence, perspective, and range of imagined objects). According to these results, various imagery experiences occurred during the scale responses. Future studies should examine the influence of such experiences on vividness measures.
