The current study confirms the important role of business intelligence in generating a competitive advantage for organizations. However, companies are forced to process ever larger volumes of data, ...and the traditional BI approach can become inadequate and generate bottlenecks. For this reason, the Self-Service Business Intelligence (SSBI) approach is emerging. It is an attempt to broaden data access and execution analysis. SSBI is likely to translate into many benefits for the organization; however, its implementation comes with numerous challenges. There is a wide research gap in comprehensive publications on this topic. The aim of the article is to synthesize knowledge on the benefits and challenges of SSBI implementation. Systematic Literature Review was the research method used.
The present work aimed to apply Reverse Logistics using Business Intelligence and the SAPEVO-M, a Multicriteria Analysis Method. For this purpose, On-site visits were carried out during the period ...from April to August 2022. During this period, data were collected from unstructured interviews, Gemba walks, photos and videos. The result showed that 83% of the Big Bags discarded by the company could be reused through Reverse Logistics. Then, SAPEVO-M was applied to select the best provider of the Reverse Logistics service for the Bigs analyzed.
Over the years, there has been a growing interest in ERP systems - in our SAP case. These IT systems have come up with a number of novelties in terms of unifying IT and business processes. In the case of this article, we have transformed the ideas from the business environment into an application meant to serve the accountants in terms of monitoring and reporting their activity to their superior level. Key performance indicators (KPIs) have been defined by the business environment according to the purpose for which they were created. This required a differentiation on skill levels, so that the results were conclusive and helped the business to manage the activity he was responsible for. We wanted to provide a complete framework for KPI management in the economic organization level by developing this application – Z-KPI tool, the results being useful to the heads of department in order to well manage their work, so that the targets assumed at the beginning of the year to be achieved. The entire application was developed in SAP system, using the latest technology - ABAP WebDynpro. The software application is now in production and the degree of use is high, because the SAP system is the core system in the company for which this case study was performed.
The use of Business Intelligence (BI) platforms is an effective choice to support decision-making. BI platforms are a major asset for any enterprise, as they have multiple benefits that become a ...competitive advantage. It is known that BI implementation costs are one of the top factors for the non BI spread over Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). Open source BI platforms provide most of the functionalities available in commercial solutions without increasing costs for organizations. Another factor also known to keep BI aside from SMEs: the complexity of implementation. This paper intends to answer the question that arises when the SME decides to move forward: can we implement a BI system? How complex will it be? It is conducted a case study where a prototype implementation of Pentaho BI platform takes place using a real case and data. The aim is to verify the complexity level of this implementation process and if it is within reach of an SME. The overall conclusion is that even though the process is not that complex, it should be managed by someone with knowledge in this area, either from the organization or from external.

In case of cloud computing service for business usages, with the growth of business opportunities such as the increased number of employee or commerce site's access, the efficient resource or QoS ...management in virtual network layer come to be more important. Also, autonomous network configuration in virtual layer which can provide optimal efficient resource and QoS service is needed. Not only network configuration is constructed in physical layer, but also it is needed to be constructed in virtual layer for future services. In this paper, it is discussed about Overlay Cloud Computing Architecture which is consisted of virtual autonomous network configuration in cloud computing service including various server and network services for business intelligent system. In our proposal methods, first of all, there are various kinds of autonomous modes such as eco mode, high power mode, and secure mode. Then, virtual network and server configuration is automatically held in virtual layer with the proper mode setting. Besides, with observation values of network and server condition, virtual configuration is changed optimally. In this optimal configuration changing, Kalman filter is used for the calculation of network and server condition. Then, the prototype of the proposed methods is reported, and the future study is discussed in the paper.
