The representation of a child is an important element of mother-child relations, which allows the mother to empathise with and respond to the child's needs. A child's cancer may be reflected in the ...mother's representation of the child. The aim of this study was to see whether there were differences in a mother's representation of healthy and oncologically ill children.
The participants in the study include 30 mothers of oncologically ill children and 25 women with healthy children as the control group. The study used a self-constructed questionnaire containing questions about the mothers' representations of their children as well as demographic information.
Women with oncologically ill children less frequently described their children as independent, impulsive, needing food and the recognition of others, than mothers of healthy children. They also felt fear more frequently when thinking about the child. There were, however, common elements in representations of ill and healthy children. Impulsiveness and interest in computer games and movies was more often attributed to boys than girls in both categories, while helpfulness was attributed more often to older children than younger ones. Single mothers felt regret more often when thinking about the child than mothers who had some helpers.
Maternal representations of a child may include, but do not have to include, disease-related content. Perceptions of a child's independence, impulsiveness, and needs seem to be related to the child's health, but for other elements of the child's image this relation is not present.
Zusammenfassung
Hintergrund
Purpose To identify reasons why certified nurse specialists (CNS) in gerontological nursing succeeded in implementing Advance Care Planning (ACP) for elderly people with non-cancer disease and their ...families despite hesitation on their part. Methods Interview surveys were conducted with CNS in gerontological nursing; these surveys were analyzed qualitatively and inductively. Results The participants’ desire for patients to spend their final days as they wish and the formers’ prediction that patients will be unable to do so in their current circumstances—a desire and a prediction shaped by experience—participants judged that ACP must be performed based on the patient’s physical condition, speech, behavior, social background, status, and disease outlook. In addition, CNS in gerontological nursing implemented ACP despite hesitation from patients and their families due to a sense of vocation and confidence in their ability to discuss issues.
The aim of the study was to evaluate the patient's psychological state in the advanced stage of cancerous disease and to assess the effect of sustenance provided by the nursing personnel upon the ...emotional state of the patient.
The study group comprised 46 subjects treated in palliative care medical wards in Łódź. The data were collected in accordance with the HADS-M questionnaire as well as a self-developed survey. The information obtained was analysed by means of Pearson χ(2) test.
The results obtained indicate that most subjects undergo mood aggravation. 76.2% of patients were diagnosed with depressive states. Only 19.6% of the population under investigation showed no signs of anxiety states. The study demonstrates irritation to be yet another unfavourable emotional state coupled with the advanced stage of cancerous disease with as few as 4.4% (4.2%) respondents claiming not to suffer any such symptoms. The patients highly prize the support they receive and it notably improved their well-being. Social support is essential in the advanced stage of the disease. Less severe mental disorders were noted in people who have received all kinds of support.

According to a study conducted by National Centre for Biotechnology Information (NIH), the cost associated with lost productivity and treatment among those who sought medical care for skin cancer ...exceeded 1.2 billion dollars and also more than 5.1 million people got serious effects like infections, hair loss, itches, burns of skin cancer. The study also concludes that most of those cases can be decremented by early detection of the cancer. The diseases like basal cell carcinoma, melanoma, pyogenic granulomas, are cancerous diseases and non-cancerous diseases like dermatofibroma, melanocytic nevi, have a variety of harmful impacts on the skin and continue to spread overtime, if treatment of skin disease at early stage is not done then it leads to complication in the body and including spreading of the infection from one another. To overcome this an early detection of skin disease plays a very major impact in today's world. Now a days image processing has become widely used in developing a solution to this type of problems. Developing a high accurate methodology can be used to decrement the count of skin infections and their huge loses. This paper presents a seven types of skin disease detection using CNN. The dataset used is HAM10000.We obtain high accuracy by making the dataset ordered by adding duplication. The input image undergoes different layers such as maxpool2d, conv2d, batch normalization, flatten, dense, Softmax etc.., As this classification is among seven different types of skin diseases out of which four are cancerous and other three are non-cancerous, the output is one among these seven.
The following paper presents the case of a 40-year-old patient staying in our Clinic between 2 March 2010 and 12 March 2010 due to the symptoms of permeable occlusion of gastrointestinal tract. This ...is a patient with a several weeks' history of non-specific abdominal pain, vomiting and significant weight loss (ca 20 kg). Until recently he has not suffered from any serious illnesses. In the performed abdominal ultrasound, gastroscopy and colonoscopy no pathology was affirmed. CT scan with intravenous and oral contrast showed significantly widened intestinal loops with residual liquid matter in the stomach, duodenum and a part of the jejunum without any distinguishing pathological mass, and also single mesenteric lymph nodes and para-aortic nodes enlarged to the size of 12 mm. The patient was qualified for laparatomy. During the surgery, a 4-cm tumour of the jejunum, concentrically narrowing intestinal lumen was found. Segmental resection of the small intestine was performed with side to side anastomosis with the use of a linear stapler. Currently the general condition of the patient is good, without any ailments, and the patient is undergoing systemic treatment.
