Conflicts are an unavoidable part of the organization but what is important is how the organization determines the root cause of the conflicts and manages them. This study aims to investigate the ...implementation of conflict management strategies to minimize the conflicts in the construction industry. Methodological triangulation was adopted, including the literature review, and a questionnaire survey to obtain data from 80 construction professionals. The results revealed that employee's awareness is the greatest cause of conflict in the construction industry, whereas union management conflict was found to be the major type of conflict. Collective bargaining strategy is found to be more effective in managing conflict. Correlation coefficient analysis between organization performance and conflict management techniques shows that there is a positive relationship between the organisational performance and conflict management strategies such as compromise, collective bargaining and accommodation, whereas the other strategies have a negative impact on organisational performance.
The article is devoted to the disclosure of the essence, analysis of the causes of conflicts in the pedagogical team of the institution of higher education. It is noted that differences and ...contradictions, which are the causes of conflicts, are especially aggravated when introducing innovations, in particular those that are currently accompanying the system of higher education. The emphasis is on the need to organize the activities of the members of teaching staff, which excludes or minimizes the probability of conflicts between them; on the prevention of conflicts, which includes their prediction (involves systematic and continuous study of educational processes, moral and psychological climate of the team with a view to establishing the forecast (probabilistic judgment) about their emergence, prospects for development, future state), and on a set of preventive measures aimed at preserving and strengthening normal pedagogical relationships. Some strategies (preventive strategy of behavior by J. Scott), methods of conflict prevention (cognitive, motivational, activity, organizational), types of typical conflict generating agents, expediency of awareness of their own actions by teachers who enter into professional interaction are revealed. The necessity of systematic study and analysis of factors that increase the probability of conflict occurrence in the pedagogical team is shown by means of psychological diagnostics of personal individual and psychological peculiarities of members of the work team; the peculiarities of their cognitive sphere; motives, goals, values both as separate members of the team and the team as a whole; formal and informal structure of the team; style of leadership; the presence of micro-groups and the nature of the relationship between them and their leaders, etc. The emphasis is made on the feasibility of A. Lebedev’s method, in which the depth of forecast is determined by a number of indicators, each of which reveals a certain aspect in the prediction of an interpersonal work conflict.
Crop raiding and livestock predation significantly influence the perception of the local community regarding wildlife conservation. The primary aim of this study was to evaluate the scope, ...characteristics and origin of human-wildlife conflict, as well as the local community’s attitudes towards wildlife conservation within the vicinity of Kafta-Sheraro National Park, northern Ethiopia. The study was conducted in 2020 between April and October. A multi-stage sampling design was adopted to select 260 households to examine respondents' opinions on the extent and underlying cause of human-wildlife conflict, communities' perception towards wildlife conservation, the damage that wild animal species cause and traditional human-wildlife conflict mitigation measures applied. Our results showed that the spotted hyena (Crocuta crocuta), leopard (Panthera pardus) and African elephant (Loxodonta africana) were the top three species involved in conflicts as reported by the respondents. Both livestock depredation and crop raiding were the most serious human-wildlife conflict types in and around Kafta-Sheraro National Park. About 48 % of the respondents confirmed that illegal subsistence farming expansion and prohibited grazing were the main causes of human-wildlife conflict. The results of the multiple linear regression model indicated that education and the distance of villages to the park boundary are significant predictors of local community perceptions towards wildlife conservation. In the study area, the perception of the local community is greatly influenced by the benefit received from the park. To alleviate human-wildlife conflicts in and around Kafta-Sheraro National Park, residents used a combination of lethal and non-lethal mitigation measures. Therefore, environmental conservation education and managing the human-wildlife conflict are needed to improve the local community’s perception towards wildlife conservation and to design wildlife conservation strategies in Kafta-Sheraro National Park.

Church conflicts arise due to poor ethics, hermeneutics or doctrine. Unending conflicts may be historical and conflict resolution may not have been done. This article identifies fissures in the ...history of conflict in the Church of Christ in Zimbabwe (COCZ). It proposes to use ‘Robert’s Rules of Order’ (RONR) to redirect deliberants’ energies towards comprehensive solutions (Robert 2020). This can eradicate collegial competition, litigious animosity, divided loyalties, mutual hatred, and violent tendencies in negative energy to increase growth tendencies in the organisation. Trust was lost due to highly adversarial contact where legal battles and acrimonious criticisms have not been addressed. The COCZ has tactical, technical and strategic management principles inherited from the restoration history, which can apply in conflict resolution. Using scientific methods of handling conflicts like RONR, and the COCZ principles can hopefully lead to better results in that church.Contribution The paper contributes to alternatives to conflict resolutions which have been tested within the Church of Christ. The Robert’s Rules can be used in different religious organisations to resolve conflict through peaceful resolutions of difference.
