Green open space is used as microclimate control in the cities besides its function as a recreational and sports facility for communities. The existence of green open space needed by the community to ...control and integrity and quality of the environment especially in the city. There was very little research and assessment on green open spaces in Bandar Lampung. The latest research conducted in 2015 about green open spaces showed that only 2,121 ha left in Bandar Lampung. The study aimed to determine the temperature and humidity in the three most visited green open spaces in Bandar Lampung contained Taman Dipangga, Taman Gajah, and Taman Kalpataru. The data were taken in 2019 using the Temperature Humidity Index formula. The results showed that the highest temperature was found in Taman Gajah (34,39 oC), and the lowest was in Taman Kalpataru (27,47 oC). The high temperature in Taman Gajah was due to the lack of shade vegetation in the park. Based on the function of green open space to fill the need of ecological functions, Taman Gajah needs to be improved by adding vegetation with a dense type of canopy density and a variety of cropping patterns to withstand temperature and humidity.
This paper presents the results of research on the dendroflora of the Natural Monument (NM) “Stari park” in Temerin, Serbia. The park’s natural values are intricately linked to the characteristics of ...its dendrofloristic elements, i.e. the large dimensions and age of its trees. To gain insight into changes in diversity, the flora recorded in 2004 and 2022 was compared. In 2022, a field study was conducted to provide a detailed dendroflora analysis, including taxonomic analysis, species origin analysis, assessment of the presence of autochthonous, allochthonous, and invasive species, as well as the biological spectrum. Although Celtis occidentalis L. remained the most represented species eighteen years later, its percentage decreased from 34% to 21%. This decline can be attributed to the emergence of new dominant species such as Fraxinus angustifolia Vahl. (15%), Ulmus effusa Willd. (13%), and Acer platanoides L. (9%). These four species now collectively constitute 58% of the trees in the park.
The design work carried out on the city of Portici represented, for the students in the last year of the Master’s Program in Architecture 5UE, an important experiment, from a design and ...professional point of view, towards the development of an approach aimed at finding an adequate and factual response to the multiple needs posed by the reality of the context in which it operates. The book collects the results of the work carried out during the 2019-2020 academic year, highlighting the multiplicity of aspects and design topics addressed, as well as the variety of the proposed solutions. The structure of the book reflects this experimental approach, starting with the exploration of some preliminary topics and methods, examined in the “Essays” section; continuing through the study of the “collaborative mapping” and the interaction with the environment and with the people who live in these places; finally, working on assembling and defining a “synthesis” of data and investigations through the design proposals, described in the “Projects” section. To try to solve the existing critical issues, yet to enhance the potential and the various heritage of the city of Portici, the project proposals were built grafting into the existing, not oriented towards the definition of a closed form and a predetermined function. On the contrary, it has implied to work on the idea of an open form, which reuses and recycles what already exists, including multiple possibilities of use and continuously changing its perimeter, extending and incorporating urban pieces of different nature. Scenarios of new possible meanings and new urban transformations are, therefore, the result of this work, made up of different levels of study and research related to the overall idea of Portici as a “City-Park”.
City parks are again crowded with people after COVID-19 to play, exercise and recreation, and Adipura Muara Enim Park is no exception. The Covid-19 pandemic is not certain to end. For this reason, ...the facilities available in city parks in the new normal era need to be conditioned so that they can provide optimal services and can support the government's efforts in handling COVID-19. The aim of the research is to analyze the need for infrastructure facilities and get the "level of service" (LOS). The research used a descriptive survey data collection method in the form of observing physical settings, functional aspects and similar research theories and then distributing questionnaires with several variables, namely the level of service facilities, level of activity level, significance and level of ease of achievement. Attitudes were assessed using a Likert scale and the "level of service" (LOS) analysis method. The results showed that the level of service at Adipura Muara Enim Park was F (< 5), that is, there was an accumulation of user activity due to the uneven distribution of facilities. It is necessary to add and adjust the facility design to meet the new normal criteria, including: the addition of an outdoor gym, guard post, information media boards, hand washing facilities, body temperature measuring device, pavement material pattern as a spacer, single seats, vegetation as a barrier between facility.
The sustainability of urban environmental development can be realized with the concept of a Green City or Green City. The application of Green City can be applied by structuring a city's green open ...space. The existence of green open space in Denpasar City has made the Denpasar City government begin to restore the Lumintang City Park as a solution to urban problems that arise. The government participates in the arrangement of Lumintang City Park so that it can be directed to become a Green City element that focuses more on evaluating green open space, green community, and green energy. The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether Denpasar City Park Lumintang has implemented the Green City aspect or not and the changes to Lumintang City Park will be directed towards which direction to address the growth of Denpasar City in the future. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data was collected through interviews and observations regarding the evaluation of green open space, green community, and green energy. The results show that based on the application of green city to the three parameters used, the implementation of green open space and green community has been implemented but in its application, it has not been optimal while green energy has not been implemented at all. So it is necessary to have the attitude of the government and the community in the development of this grand city.
Abstract This research examines environmental and social problems with a security design solution approach for green open spaces in tropical city parks related to negative visitor behavior, ...especially in the form of vandalism which can cause damage to facilities and vegetation in areas with dense and varied visitor activities. This research was conducted in priority spatial environments popular and paid parks in the tropical city of Surabaya, Indonesia. The classification of visitor access security detection uses the Crime Prevention through Environment Design (CPTED) vandalism management strategy theory to determine the access security model applied to spatial behavior. The results show that spatial areas with high levels of visitor density and management’s low level of application of CPTED attributes have an effect on increasing the impact of visitor vandalism on park facilities.
This study aims to obtain the formulation of research results related to the grade of satisfaction and the dominant satisfaction variable in the primary activity area of Nganjuk City Park. ...Qualitative descriptive research was used in this study, then the data was processed by qualitative data methods and processed using an Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) diagram which is then described using multiple linear regression analysis. The population survey used is city park users with a sample of 100 users. The sampling technique uses a sampling method based on certain characteristics (purposive sampling). In the results of the Importance Performance Analysis, it can be seen that in quadrants I to 4, there are priorities that must be hastened by changes or maintains configuration aspects so that the value of the satisfaction level of the configuration area can be maximized. Sequentially the priority changes that can be made are from the sports activity area (very dissatisfied) with the x;y quadrant points (9.68; 8.92); tours and stopovers (not satisfied) with quadrant points x; y (8.55; 10.84) and (9.11; 9.92); the learning area category (satisfied) with the x;y quadrant point (5.68;8.36), and the trading area category (very satisfied) with the x;y quadrant point (7.34; 10.03).
•Three soundscape perception parameters, i.e., PLS, POS and SDI are important to indicate “objective” soundscape information.•Physical characteristics of visual landscape in terms of local landscape ...spatial patterns could have more effect on soundscape perception than that of on-site landscape composition.•“Objective” soundscape information from soundwalks is of equal importance as subjective soundscape information from the general public in landscape management practice.
The present study analyses the effects of the physical characteristics of the visual landscape on soundscape perception in city parks, based on information gathered in field surveys using a specifically designed soundwalk method in five city parks in China. Three soundscape parameters were conceived, including perceived loudness of individual sounds (PLS), perceived occurrences of individual sounds (POS) and soundscape diversity index (SDI), which were found to correlate and should thus be applied in concert. Physical characteristics of the visual landscape were analysed from two perspectives, i.e., by on-site landscape composition and local landscape spatial patterns. The results suggest that the percentage of buildings, vegetation and sky in panoramic views (here photos) were effective landscape elements influencing soundscape perception. The landscape shape index of buildings and water areas (LSI_B, LSI_W) and the patch cohesion index of water areas (COHESION_W) showed positive effects on the perception of human sounds. The percentage of roads (PLAND_R) and the largest patch index of roads (LPI_R) were related to traffic sounds. Both the PLS and POS of biological sounds were negatively related to LPI_W and LSI_B, respectively, whilst the POS of biological sounds was positively related to PLAND_R, and LSI_R. COHESION_R was the only index negatively related to both the PLS and POS of geophysical sounds. SDI only showed positive relationship with PLAND_W. Overall, the results reveal that local landscape spatial patterns could be more influential on soundscape perception than on-site landscape composition. The study proposed introducing soundscape information from different sources into landscape management.
