DiGeorge’s syndrome is a set of congenital defects and abnormalities caused by a deletion of chromosome 22 (loss of a fragment of the long arm of this chromosome). The symptoms of the disease ...include, but are not limited to: heart defects, hypocalcaemia, decreased level of calcium in the body), immune disorders, as well as facial dysmorphism, irregularities in the structure of the palate, decreased muscle tone, abnormalities in cognitive development, hearing loss, speech disorders. Patients with this diagnosis require multi-specialist care, including speech therapy. The article presents the results of the diagnosis of primary speech activities, the auditory responses and also communication and social skills of a 6-month-old child with DiGeorge syndrome, as well as the therapeutic recommendations formulated on its basis.
The article attempts to demonstrate the usefulness of the semantic verbal fluency test in speech therapy diagnosis of people diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. The basic concepts of verbal fluency, ...especially semantic, were discussed, the test was characterized, its structure was described, the test procedure was presented and the proposed analysis of the results was discussed. The test is one of the most frequently used tools for assessing resources of the mental lexicon, the method of storing knowledge and the possibility of recalling it. Provides knowledge about the quality of linguistic processes. The way of carrying out verbal fluency tasks (the number of generated concepts consistent with the criterion, the number of clusters and their resources, the nature of errors) proves the quality of linguistic processes and the state of semantic memory. Difficulties with updating concepts may be a significant symptom of developing dementia processes, especially in the early stages of AD.
The article presents the standards of conduct in case of diagnosing the quality of voice emission and discusses such diagnostic tools as the Voice Handicap Index (VHI), Applicability of the Vocal ...Tract Discomfort (YTD scale) or the GRBAS scale. The main part of the article is a description of a structured interview which can be used during a conversation (diagnosis) by specialists: phoniators, speech therapists or voice trainers. The interview includes a number of questions in the field of basic data, occupational health and hygiene, health habits, health status, problems with voice as well as psychological variables. The tool is accompanied by a sheet in which you can record the obtained answers.
The article summarizes the important criteria for aphasia divisions, which present different methods of approaching the disease. Discussed: classical forms of aphasia, non-classical forms of aphasia, ...aphasia division by the positions of selected authors. Each adopted criterion has been enriched with descriptions of the most important properties of a given type of aphasia, encountered in speech therapy. A contemporary approach to the diagnosis and therapy of the above disorder is also presented.
The article presents a case study of a 65‑year‑old woman with age‑related hearing loss and auditory processing disorders. The results of diagnosis and training of auditory, visual and motor functions ...using the assumptions of the Warnke method are discussed. A positive influence of the auditory training using the Warnke method on the linguistic functioning of the patient was demonstrated.

Z przyczyn niezależnych od logopedy ...terapia od-bywała się w warunkach szkolnych, w trakcie zajęć grupowych, z wykorzystaniem metody rytmiki E. Jaques’a-Dalcroze’a, poszerzonych o pracę nad spowolnieniem mowy chłopca. Czynne uczestnictwo w zajęciach muzykoterapii przyniosło mie-rzalną poprawę zarówno mowy dziecka, jak i jego relacji z rówieśnikami.

Proces wewnętrznej przemiany ujmuje jako rezultat zmian w motywacji: od amotywacji do motywacji wewnętrznej. Jako podstawę teoretyczną tworzenia modelu diagnozy w resocjalizacji wskazuje dwie koncepcje: teorię autodeterminacji (SDT – Self-determination Theory) Edwarda L. Deciego i Richarda M. Ryana oraz koncepcję braku motywacji, głównie przyczyn amotywacji Lisy Legault, Isabelle Green- Demers, Luca G. Pelletiera, Stéphanie Dijon, Kim Tuson, Symeona P. Vlachopoulosa i Marii A. Gigoudi. W tym kontekście autorka dokonuje analizy procesu motywacyjnego z perspektywy skutecznego działania resocjalizującego. W kolejnych akapitach opracowania dokonana została analiza sposobu rozumienia procesu diagnozy oraz przedstawiony został proponowany model teoretyczny diagnozy resocjalizacyjnej, wraz z jego uzasadnieniem merytorycznym. W rezultacie opracowanie stanowi próbę sformułowania zaleceń oraz skonstruowania modelu teoretycznego diagnozy resocjalizacyjnej w obszarze pracy kuratora sądowego.
The new perception of selective mutism as an anxiety disorder enables specialists to diagnose it early and take therapeutic measures as soon as possible. It is not an easy task to diagnose selective ...mutism and that process can engage many specialists. A diagnostic test should identify a pattern, depth and effects of selective mutism and also check whether there occur other serious problems related to this disorder. The test should help to determine how well do the people dealing with SM understand it and whether they apply the correct treatment. It should also help to collect full information on development, interests and friendships of a child to be able to help him efficiently. The aim of the article is to present the selective mutism and is to present the diagnosis as the process and to offer some suggestions how to classify the stages of this process.
