•Stress can impact dissertation writers in negative ways.•Productivity and emotional well-being may be hampered by stress.•Stress reduction should be a part of dissertation support
In this Short ...Communication, we report on some stresses experienced by L2 writers in the dissertation process and argue that when these emotions go unacknowledged and unaddressed, they can result in deleterious outcomes for these writers. Drawing on our work with writers in dissertation support groups, we note the sources of stress for the L2 students; while the genesis of some of the L2 students’ stress may be attributed solely to challenges in text production, other factors, such as interpersonal difficulties and intrapersonal conflicts, also contribute to stress and can negatively affect dissertators’ writing progress. We conclude by suggesting ways that writing professionals can assist writers in coping productively with the stresses experienced during the dissertation process.

Main findings
By the end of standard cardiac rehabilitation, patients still spent little time in physical activity and a long time sedentary
Additional pedometer-based behavioural group interventions ...added to standard cardiac rehabilitation increase physical activity.
A behavioural after-care programme delivered by phone was not successful.
Cardiac rehabilitation programmes should focus on severe fatigue and dissatisfaction with participation in society.
Patients already achieve cardiovascular health targets (bloodpressure, lipid profile) after standard cardiac rehabilitation without after-care.
Main findings
Detailed analyses of physical behaviour showed that ambulatory fatigued persons with multiple sclerosis (MS) do differ from healthy controls not only in physical activity level, but ...also in other physical behaviour dimensions (e.g. day patterns, intensity of activities and distribution of periods of activity).
In ambulatory persons with MS-related fatigue, a weak association was found between physical fatigue and several physical behaviour dimensions (i.e., the amount, the intensity and the day pattern of activities).
The individual Energy Conservation Management (ECM) format used in this study did not reduce MS-related fatigue and restrictions in participation more than an information-only control condition. Our study does not support the implementation of our individual ECM format as a treatment for MS-related fatigue.
Energy conservation strategies given in ECM were appreciated by participants and perceived as useful for fatigue, so ECM seems to have a subjective good effect for fatigued persons with MS.
Resulting from a responder study: fatigued people with MS who are more severely fatigued, have a less negative perception of fatigue, perceive fewer disease benefits, and who perceive a higher discrepancy in social support show the best response to ECM treatment.
The aim of this study is to characterize the gra¬duate student perspectives on a virtual dialogic teaching initiative oriented to the revision of dissertation chapters written by the students ...themselves. Within an exploratory qualitative study in-depth interviews are taken with 12 stu-dents from three seminar editions. The analy¬sis shows three relevant categories regarding online dialogic teaching of writing: time ma¬nagement, synchronous exchange and digital technologies. There are three senses of the tem¬poral dimension: times relative to the seminar schedule, to the student daily life, and to the in¬tellectual process of writing practices. Further-more, a combination of heavy asynchronous load with synchronous encounters is valued. Re¬garding the technologies, the students generate environments that take advantages of devices’ technological potential based on the physical environment possibilities and also value the pedagogical relevance of the applications. The category properties show some changes of gra¬duate writing, and its dialogic teaching in the digital world.
This paper aims to explore the potential role of Master's of Education dissertation/thesis work in developing twenty-first century skills. A total of 600 education professionals studying Master's of ...Education programmes in five countries - Poland, Portugal, England, Latvia, and Romania - were surveyed. The findings have revealed that participants recognise the usefulness of twenty-first century skills for their (future) professional practice, and perceive dissertation/thesis work as a valuable foundation for developing these skills. This study offers practical implications for designers of Master's of Education programmes and contributes to our understanding that this assignment is not only a formal requirement for obtaining a degree, but that it also serves as a pathway towards deepening students' professional learning.
