Prispevek se osredotoča na temeljne značilnosti in najnovejše trende v gospodarskem sodelovanju Kitajske z Afriko, zlasti z vidika geografskih učinkov obsega in strukture trgovinske menjave, tujih ...neposrednih investicij in razvojne pomoči. V drugem delu članka so predstavljene ključne ugotovitve empirične raziskave v Angoli, ki osvetljujejo odnos Angolcev do gospodarske navezanosti na Kitajsko, kakor tudi do kitajskih priseljencev ter njihove vloge v afriški družbi in gospodarstvu.
This volume (‘The role of part-time farms in the transformation of the urban fringe’) discusses the role of part-time farms in the economic, environmental and spatial transformation of the urban ...fringe. On the basis of the sample of Slovene suburban farms, the impact level of the proximity of workplaces on the mobility of the agricultural workforce was determined. It was also determined if socio-economic characteristics of suburban agricultural economies reflect in the characteristics of farm management and in the environment. This consequently stresses the role of part-time farms in the strengthening of multi-layered agriculture.
Litoralizacijo označuje izrazita razvojna dvojnost: ob obali prihaja do zgoščevanja gospodar-skih dejavnosti in prebivalcev, medtem ko se zaledje sooča z depopulacijo, staranjem prebi-valstva in ...slabimi zaposlitvenimi možnostmi. S pomočjo izbranih družbenogospodarskih kazalcev smo za naselja ob štirih proflih preučili razvojno dvojnost Slovenske Istre. Struktura prebivalstva kaže, da litoralizacija v Slovenski Istri dobiva drugačno prostorsko razsežnost, saj smo opredelili tri tipe razvojnih območij.
The Alps are one of the most sensitive regions in Europe, and their future development represents a challenge that demands the cooperation of various experts, the business world, politics, and ...society, as well as the people living there. The Interreg IIIB project DIAMONT, which took place from 2005 to 2008, also addressed Alpine developmental challenges. This monograph presents the basic results of the project, supported by the broader theoretical framework of regional and sustainable development. We first present the cultural differences in the Alps and their influence on sustainable regional development. This is followed by the results of a Delphi analysis, which helped reveal the basic development tendencies in the Alps, and then we discuss appropriate indicators for regional development and harmonizing data. Attention is then dedicated to regional development instruments and the participative process, which is essential for attaining truly sustainable development. Finally, we present a Slovenian perspective on these issues.
Institucionalni pristop v ekonomski geografiji poudarja vlogo institucij pri razvoju gospodarstva in lociranju podjetij. Med institucionalne dejavnike se uvršča tudi formalno planiranje, saj vsebuje ...sistem pravil, zakonov in norm. V članku je s pomočjo analize literature in razvojnih dokumentov ter študije primera predstavljena vloga planiranja pri lociranju proizvodnih dejavnosti v Sloveniji po letu 1990.
The publication “Monitoring and Evaluation of Regional Policy in Slovenia” was prepared on the basis of the Assessment of Instruments and Mechanisms of Regional Policy project intended for designing ...the systems for the mid-term and final evaluation of Slovenia’s regional policy. The project has prepared the basis for monitoring and evaluating the regional policy: we treated the monitoring of the regional policy as an important element in the overall development process because it enables constant supervision of the implementation of the policy and the evaluation of the regional policy as a constant interactive process that enables deliberate planning of activities and their adaptation to changing conditions. We focused on the characteristics of monitoring and evaluation in Slovenia’s regional policy and prepared evaluation models that Slovenia’s regional policy should follow in the future. Designing the models we drew from the existing Slovenian and European formal-legal frameworks for establishing monitoring and evaluation system in the 2007–2013 financial perspective.
The economic transition in Slovenia has undoubtedly led to major changes in Slovene urban landscape. The political transition in the 1990-ies was only the beginning of other fundamental processes ...that followed: the socialistic economic system started collapsing, new markets emerged and cities were exposed to global socioeconomic forces. Slovene cities were and still are at the forefront of the mentioned change. Major spatial, cultural, social and other transformations as results of the economic transition can be seen and felt by citizens, workers and visitors.
This study attempts to illustrate the role of regional policy in the development of spatial structures and simultaneously determine the success and the possibly diverse response of individual ...instruments of regional policy to the structures of problem areas. We established that the influences of the regional policy are relatively minor, a consequence of the scant financial means devoted to the stimulation of regional development, the lack of power of the overall regional policy relative to all development currents introduced by inclusion in the European Union, and very aggressive globalization. However, we are able to cite some of its successes, mostly visible on the local level, although at higher levels their influence weakened. Because the goals of the regional policy in the previous period have not been achieved, we suggest some changes that would either strengthen the current method of stimulating regional development or abandon it altogether and turn toward the active stimulation of the polycentric network of cities that would result in the greater competitiveness of individual centers, which we hope would also have positive effects in their immediate hinterland.
Ljubljana je imela ob koncu druge svetovne vojne približno 100.000 prebivalcev v strnjenem mestnem delu. Sledilo je obdobje zelo hitre rasti števila prebivalcev (urbanizacija) zaradi priseljevanja iz ...drugih delov Slovenije in pozneje tudi priselitev iz nekdanjih jugoslovanskih republik. To obdobje zaznamujejo številne nove stanovanjske soseske in začetki nazadovanja starega mestnega jedra. Sledilo je obdobje suburbanizacije in širitve Ljubljane ob vpadnicah in z manj kakovostno in nelegalno gradnjo tudi marsikje vmes. Draga prenova starih zgradb, ustavljena gradnja stanovanjskih sosesk in visoke cene gradbenih parcel so povzročile beg prebivalcev iz mesta (dezurbanizacija) in neurbano gradnjo v sosednjih občinah (sekundarna suburbanizacija). S prenovo starega mestnega jedra in poskusi njegove oživitve poskuša Ljubljana izvesti reurbanizacijo. Glavni problem je še vedno odseljevanje mlajšega prebivalstva zaradi pomanjkanja stanovanj, kar še povečuje obseg dnevne delovne migracije in zato s stoječim prometom duši mestno jedro. Samo zaradi priseljevanja iz Ljubljane v zadnjih desetih letih se je število prebivalcev malih sosednjih občin povečalo za 20.000, medtem ko število prebivalcev Ljubljane nazaduje. Z dobrega četrt milijona prebivalcev je tretja najmanjša prestolnica v Evropi (ob neupoštevanju »žepnih držav«). Problem sosednjih občin pa je izrazito neurbana gradnja in s tem velika poraba površin pa tudi nastajanje komunalnih infrastrukturnih pragov. Razdelitev ljubljanske metropolitanske regije na male občinske fevde prav kliče po izdelavi strategije prostorskega razvoja vsaj na ravni ljubljanske urbane regije.
Projekt višenamjenski kanal Dunav-Sava (VKDS) predstavlja kanalsko povezivanje dviju značajnih rijeka,
Dunava i Save. Cijelom svojom dužinom je plovan i nalazi se na području Republike Hrvatske. ...Njegov
višenamjenski značaj sadržan je u tri njegove glavne funkcije: plovidba, navodnjavanje i odvodnjavanje, te u
nizu sporednih. Izgradnja VKDS je od gospodarske i strateške važnosti na regionalnoj i nacionalnoj razini koja
bi nesumnjivo pozitivno utjecala na veliki broj gospodarskih grana. Upitnost isplativosti njegove izgradnje
se ogleda u potencijalnim negativnim ekološkim posljedicama, sve manjem značenju riječnog prometa i
skupoći izgradnje same trase.
