A student with medium ...achievement in English was selected and given the treatment that comprised 12 weeks of recorded practice interspersed with 6 fortnightly oral presentations to the writer that were also recorded. The practice clips were analysed for the types of learning strategies employed, namely rehearsal, elaboration, and organization, and SRL which included meta-cognition, motivation and perseverance, while the oral production recordings were analysed for fluency, pronunciation, stressing, intonation and understanding. The findings showed that she adjusted the levels of use of almost all of HSRL factors following the feedbacks after each oral presentation except elaboration and organization factors, and those oral production skills were improved gradually. Initially a conceptual framework of learning ...and life experience is established drawing on Alfred Lorenzer and Oskar Negt, and the interactional development of psychoanalysis. A case of learning experience from research into a retraining program for unskilled workers, exposing a very conflictual subjective experience of a traineeship, is presented and commented. The worker's experience is interpreted focusing on the gender aspects of the conflicts, seeing the learning process in the context of a work identity process, which is related to a career shift enforced by labor market transition requiring male workers to retrain for a social work profession which used to be female, and more widely to a reconfiguration of the societal relation between work and gender. The final section discusses the methodological framework for analyzing learning processes by means of interpreting language use. The notion of language game connects the level of unconscious social engagements and level of formal learning and knowledge, and the opportunity for a deeper understanding of professional learning and identity is indicated by reference to one more example." Er zeigt anhand zahlreicher Beispiele, dass das menschliche Gehirn formbarer ist, als es selbst die Hirnforscher noch bis vor wenigen Jahren glaubten. Keine andere Spezies kommt mit einem derart offenen, lernfähigen und durch eigene Erfahrungen in seiner weiteren Entwicklung und strukturellen Ausreifung gestaltbaren Gehirn zur Welt wie der Mensch. Erst in den letzten zehn Jahren ist es den Gehirnforschern und Entwicklungspsychologen vor allem mit Hilfe der sogenannten bildgebenden Verfahren gelungen nachzuweisen, welchen nachhaltigen Einfluss frühe Bindungserfahrungen darauf haben, wie und wofür ein Kind sein Gehirn benutzt, welche Verschaltungen zwischen den Milliarden Nervenzellen deshalb besonders gut gebahnt und stabilisiert und welche nur unzureichend entwickelt und ausgeformt werden. Aus dieser Perspektive betrachtet, erweist sich die Fähigkeit von Menschen, bewusst zu handeln, sich ihrer selbst bewusst zu werden und ihr Bewusstsein zu schärfen und zu erweitern, als eine Kulturleistung. Der Ort, an dem das Bewusstsein entsteht, wäre dann nicht im Gehirn, sondern in der Gesellschaft zu suchen.
