Inanimate Alice is a unique example of the effectiveness of electronic literature on young readers. In Portugal, the impact of this story and the way in which it proposes contact with the ecology of ...digital media justify the acknowledgement of its aesthetic merits in school education, where electronic works are still absent. However, the syllabus is not a closed system that prevents any approach to artistic works not listed in the official reading list, and is open to the inclusion of other texts. Avó e neto contra vento e areia (Grandmother and Grandson against Wind and Sand), a short story by Teolinda Gersão, is an excellent literary vehicle for facilitating that inclusion, through the thematic and symbolic dialogue that can be established with Inanimate Alice. This dialogue involved a pedagogic experiment in which Inanimate Alice was extensively read in close relation with Teolinda Gersão’s story. The report of the experiment shows several possibilities for joint exploration and use of these works.
La lectura y la escritura son actividades irremplazables para la formación del ciudadano en una sociedad moderna y democrática, de individuos libres que poseen un elevado autoconocimiento. Se ...comprende que la reducción de la formación lingüística y literaria de la población ha sido uno de los rasgos más regresivos (por deshumanizadores) de los últimos tiempos. Y a la inversa, su incipiente rehabilitación actual abre perspectivas de trabajo positivo a quienes detectamos el poder humanizador del lenguaje. En este artículo se sostiene la idea de que no hay mejor manera de enseñar a escribir que enseñando a leer, porque escribir y leer son actividades recíprocas (Roca, 2021). Partiendo de esa premisa, se va a proponer una pedagogía del texto literario basada en las tres fases de la hermenéutica de Ricoeur (1980): comprender, explicar y aplicar. La comprensión de la estructura (morfo)-lógica, la explicación de la validez de la interpretación -y su discusión-, y la aplicación, que se refiere a la capacidad de unir horizontes y de ampliarlos a través del diálogo, de una actitud que deja manifestarse a la obra y que invita, al lector, la escritura creativa (Galvan, 2004, Montilla-Narváez, 2021). Esta manera de estudiar la obra literaria centrada en el concepto de aplicación proporciona orientaciones para un pluralismo abierto a la esencia de las obras, incentiva el pensamiento crítico y permite la emergencia de procesos de mejora y transformación (Bain, 2006; Aguirre-Romero, 2019; Roca, 2021). En el capítulo se detallarán los vértices sobre los que se sustenta la aplicación didáctica de esta teoría (la teoría de la complejidad de la competencia comunicativa, el aprendizaje basado en problemas y la hermenéutica literaria).
Durante las últimas décadas, se ha considerado la lectura de cómic japonés en diferentes contextos de alfabetización lectora; y se han desarrollado estudios diversos que contemplan la potencialidad ...didáctica de este medio, en propuestas sobre creatividad artística a partir de las prácticas letradas de jóvenes lectores, o como recurso didáctico para la educación literaria. Mediante un análisis cualitativo, este trabajo pretende estudiar las posibilidades de Tomoji, de Jiro Taniguchi, como ejemplo paradigmático de manga para la formación de lectores, con perspectiva intercultural y atendiendo a las opciones de vinculación temática en torno a la diversidad que la lectura presenta. Así, se realiza una propuesta de motivación lectora basada en ciertas claves metodológicas propias de las secuencias didácticas, con el objetivo de proporcionar un modelo replicable de educación literaria que promueva, a partir del cómic nipón, la discusión alrededor de aspectos culturales como el papel social de la mujer, la apreciación de la naturaleza o el concepto de familia.
analizar una muestra de siete obras de escritura creativa dirigidas a público infantil y editadas en español. Para ello, se utiliza una metodología cualitativa de estudio de casos. En el análisis se ...han tenido en cuenta los paratextos, ilustraciones, objetivos, edad recomendada y contenido de las obras. Los libros analizados pretenden acercar a los menores a la práctica de la creación literaria, concebida como fruto de la fantasía y el juego libre con las palabras, pero también como producto del diálogo con otros textos. La mayoría buscan estimular la creatividad enfatizando el disfrute y el juego, pero también pretenden desarrollar la competencia literaria mediante la producción de textos líricos y narrativos. Varias obras combinan lectura y escritura, así como lenguajes visuales y verbales. En suma, se puede afirmar que estos recursos ofrecen una alternativa metodológica para despertar el interés por la escritura e iniciar a los menores en la creación literaria. Abstract: This research intends to analyse a sample of seven books for creative writing addressed to an infant audience and published in Spanish. To do that, a qualitative methodology is used, more specifically, a cases study methodology. In the analysis, the paratexts and illustrations have been considered, as well as the objectives, targeted age and the content of the works. The books analysed intend to make children acquainted with the practice of literary creation, which is understood as the offspring of fantasy and play with words, but also as the product of the dialogue with other texts. Most of them intend to foster creativity through enjoyment and play, but they also try to develop literary competence through the production of poetic and narrative texts. Some works combine reading and writing activities, as well as visual and verbal languages. To sum up, it can be stated that these resources provide a methodological option to develop the interest in reading and to introduce children in literary creation.
In the educational subject Czech Language and Literature, the present concept of literary education continues to be primarily based on the doctrinal approach reduced to literary history and frontal ...organizational form of teaching. Less class space is given to the use of innovatively conceived literary education: reading texts, especially artistic literature, and creative activity involving the pupils´ construction and re-construction of the texts and their reflection. Contemplating literature teaching in Czech schools is Ondřej Hník, Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Department of Czech Studies at the Pedagogical Faculty of Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem.

Allowing Space for Undecidability: Complex Picturebooks in Literary Education Previous research on children’s literature calls attention to picturebooks as a challenging art form, containing complex ...themes and sophisticated literary qualities. However, previous research shows that picturebooks in educational settings are still mainly explored with emergent readers. In this study, we elaborate on the relation between aesthetics and pedagogy by discussing how the complexity and undecidability of picturebooks can contribute to literary education by applying the concept of undecidability (Johansen, “Kunst”; Litteratur). Applying a thinking with theory approach (Jackson and Mazzei), we use the theoretical concept of undecidability, in relation to the picturebook Skuggorna (The Shadows, 2018) by Maija Hurme and Anssi Hurme as well as in relation to pedagogical considerations for literary education. The analysis of Skuggorna shows how it contains undecidabilities on several levels and how these undecidabilities cause the meaning of the narrative to shift. The study offers implications for literature teaching with this type of picturebook and, consequently, elaborates on what these undecidabilities can provide literary education. Moreover, the study shows how the challenging picturebook can provide spaces for upholding undecidabilities and negotiations in the literature classroom.
In their discussion of the interpretation of the literary work of fiction, Peter Lamarque and Stein Haugom Olsen explain that: “Literary appreciation is the appreciation of how a work interprets and ...develops the general themes which the reader identifies through the application of thematic concepts. … The thematic concepts are, by themselves, vacuous. They cannot be separated from the way they are ‘anatomized’ in literature and other cultural discourses” (Lamarque and Olsen: 399). The subtle unravelling of the work’s thematic concepts relies on the context of its reception, with its idiosyncratic sensitivities and cultural sensibilities of that time and place. However, cultural sensitivity also has a dark side as it may occasionally ignite a sort of allergic reaction to a work, identifying it as a threat that must be eliminated. My paper examines the case of literary censorship in Israel. Three partially banned works of fiction reflect three aspects of the Israeli right-wing anxiety concerning the Israeli-Palestinian confl ict: The futility of sacrificing Israeli soldiers’ lives, the acknowledgement of the Palestinian perspective, and, fi nally, the possibility of deflecting the animosity between the two nations to a point of allowing for mutual love.
Las redes sociales se han convertido en los últimos años en los espacios de relación y comunicación más habituales, sobre todo para los jóvenes, condicionando sus hábitos de expresión. En ...consecuencia, los autores literarios, la literatura, su enseñanza y las prácticas que de ello se derivan se hacen eco de esa influencia e impacto. El objeto de este trabajo es analizar la producción científica en español, en revistas especializadas, indexadas en Dialnet, en relación con la literatura y las redes sociales, desde el año 2016 hasta la actualidad. Se pretende identificar las prácticas vinculadas a la educación literaria en el contexto educativo español, determinando los aspectos más relevantes de estas. Se aplica una metodología sistematizada de selección, usando los estándares PRISMA y un análisis de contenido. Los resultados evidencian la escasez de estudios sobre el tema, pese al uso cada vez más generalizado de las redes, la necesidad de formación y alfabetización, y la utilización de las redes como recursos en Secundaria, en prácticas relacionadas con la literatura, la lectura y la escritura creativa. Especialmente destacan las experiencias con YouTube para el fomento de la lectura, y la escritura y narrativa con Instagram y Twitter.
