This article discusses the empirical research results devoted to the study of the older generation attitude to modern technologies: fears, expectations, and motivation to use such technologies. The ...obtained results are interpreted through a humanistic paradigm, in which technologies are considered as a tool for realising human potential, in particular, the potential of the older age group. In the course of the study, a comparative analysis was conducted by gender and age groups. The main conclusions drawn from the scientific work results are as follows. Firstly, it is the older generation that assumes the role of “technological optimists”, unlike younger and middle-aged people who have more concerns about the development of information technology. This applies both to everyday life and to the national problems of the increment of scientific knowledge. Secondly, the older generation noticeably need the humanistic aspect of technology more. This includes distrust of full automation, for example, driverless cars, as well as the need for a tutor and mentor when mastering new technologies. At the same time, it is the elderly generation that expresses the greatest trust in people around them. Thirdly, in many respects, the older generation has more similarities in their expectations and preferences with the younger age group than with those who are closer to them in age.
Current trends in the development of HR-management at Ukrainian enterprises has been studied. It is noted that HR-management is always focused on implementing competencies and professional abilities of an employee and achieving the greatest possible contribution of the staff to the performance and development of enterprises. Therefore, to increase the efficiency of personnel management, domestic companies should learn from the global experience in HR-management, as well as development and implementation of HR strategies, which in fact have a very serious impact on the performance indices of an organization, and adopt the best practices. The correspondence pattern between the enterprise strategy and its HR-strategy is given. It is established that rapid changes in the external environment, the introduction of modern technologies, and effective forms of organizing production have changed the attitude of business to a person. The staff has stopped being human resource only, becoming the key factor in the success of enterprise development. This role of a person in the production process necessitates the search for and implementation of innovative approaches to personnel management. It is concluded that the introduction of HR-management, and formation and implementation of HR strategies at domestic enterprises will significantly increase the efficiency of business processes and bring competitive advantages that will create the best conditions for development.
The article aims to explain the importance of 5G technology in pursuing power and shaping the international competition between two superpowers: the USA and China. Accordingly, the research focus of ...this article is to explain how and why 5G technology is being used by China and the U.S. as a key instrument in their growing geopolitical rivalry. The study is framed within the theoretical approach of offensive realism. It is based on the primary assumption that superpowers like China and the United States tend to increase their power not only by expanding their armed forces and territorial conquests but also by using every possible opportunity to do so. The article researches two questions. What is the importance of 5G technology in the rivalry between China and the U.S.? How has the development of communication technologies influenced countries and their ability to shape the international environment? 5G technology is considered more than just the next generation of wireless connectivity, as it goes beyond traditional forms of use and addresses a new category of users. It is a structure intended to facilitate a new category of goods and services: smart cities, autonomous vehicles, automated factories, digital services, and robotization of decision-making processes.
The paper presents how the traditional motifs on Romanian carpets can be processed with the help of modern technology. The art of the Romanian carpet brought with it original century-old motifs with ...certain messages. These demonstrate a high artistic level and reflect the traditional features in ornamentation, composition and coloring. The paper presents how to transform images into stitch steps. The obtained schemes can be used for the diversification of clothing products, using elements taken from the Romanian carpet. They can also be saved in electronic format and paper support for a long time. The motifs on authentic Romanian carpets were photographed. Images have been processed and embedded in product patterns to get a variety of traditional ornate products. This principle can also be applied to accessories such as handbags, belts and even footwear. New products ornamented with traditional motifs are authentic and contribute to the promotion of cultural values. Thus, combining the values of the past with modern technologies, we can obtain several advantages: diversification of clothing products ornamented with traditional elements; the use of electronic databases with traditional elements that can be used at any time when performing mechanical or manual embroidery; promoting the values of cultural heritage.
In the hierarchy of human needs, food is absolutely the most basic. As the human population was increasing at an accelerated rate with concomitant depletion of natural resources during the 18th ...century, Malthus was greatly concerned about the sustainability of food availability. Despite the fact that the human population has been burgeoning, a total collapse in food supply has not yet happened. This is because of new technologies emerging from time to time to boost agricultural productivity and preventing the onset of the Malthusian scourge. However, none of these technologies, including the Green Revolution of the 1960s, has been truly sustainable largely because of their adverse environmental and social impacts. It is expected that the Evergreen Revolution which eliminates the negative attributes of the Green Revolution would be more sustainable. Critical evaluation of the most modern technology, modern biotechnology, reveals that the Bt- and herbicide-tolerant-crops are highly unsustainable. In addition to causing environmental harm, these crops exhibit genotoxic effects. The original objective of reducing the need for application of chemical pesticides has also not been realized. There is need for basic research to understand the causes of ‘unintended effects’ associated with genetically engineered crops. It will be prudent to adhere to the recommendations of the Task Force on Agricultural Biotechnology, Government of India (2004) in the development and regulation of genetically engineered crops. These aspects are briefly discussed in this article.
