This study explores intrinsic (i.e., perceived enjoyment, perceived involvement) and extrinsic motivator (i.e., perceived usefulness, convenience, perceived ease of use) for usage continuance of ...hedonic mobile applications (apps). Satisfaction serves as an important link between motivators and continued willingness to use, therefore its effect was analysed through mediation. Data was collected through an online survey and a total of 720 valid responses were received. Results showed that intrinsic motivators had a significant effect on continued willingness to use (CWU) and extrinsic motivators on satisfaction for hedonic mobile apps. Extrinsic motivators strongly mediate the relationship between intrinsic motivators and satisfaction. Factors related to viewing patterns (i.e., viewing frequency, viewing time) and demographic factors (i.e., age, education) moderated relationships in the model. This study provides significant theoretical and practical implications for researchers in the domain of mobile applications. The study introduces convenience as a determinant of satisfaction and validates the existence of duality for dimensions of motivators.
This article investigates how students from migrant backgrounds describe their motivators and drive for obtaining an education. It is based on a qualitative study of 17 young people aged 16-24. All ...are students in combination classes at a large upper-secondary school in Eastern Norway and are recent arrivals in Norway with little prior education. Half aspire to higher education, while the others are applying for vocational training. In this article, we link these educational ambitions to four forms of motivation. The immigrant motivator relates to high academic expectations among parents and other family members. In addition to the immigrant motivator, there is what we refer to as the middle-class motivator, where parents of low socio-economic status exert influence in a way that can be understood as a kind of middle-class behaviour. The world-citizen motivator encompasses the students’ desires to contribute by giving something back to their home countries, the host country, and the global community. The opportunity motivator is linked to the efforts of the school community to provide an inclusive and facilitative environment for this group of students. Schools that offer adapted and differentiated teaching, customized to the needs of individual students, as with combination classes, seem to function as important protective factors.
Food production significantly impacts Earth's systems and accounts for approximately a quarter of all greenhouse gas emissions. To create a more sustainable food system, scientific evidence ...emphasizes replacing consumption of certain types of protein with high environmental impact such as beef and pork, with protein with less-impact alternatives such as fish or vegetable protein. This study evaluates a nudge intervention at a medium sized grocery store designed to increase purchases of fish. Alongside it also examines other relevant factors influencing protein choice, such as values, attitudes, habits, demographics and price. To assess the nudge's impact a natural field experiment was designed, and the effect was measured by observing changes in sales of fish (over 59,000 items sold over 143 days). Additionally, data was collected from a selected sample of customers (N = 147) to further explore protein choice determinants. The results fail to demonstrate a significant effect of the nudge intervention. Instead, values, habits, attitudes and price significantly influence protein selection. These findings underscore the complexity of shopping decisions and how nudge interventions are not always easy to implement, adding important null findings to the available literature. Policy implications and possible improvements are discussed, emphasizing the need to account for habits and habit-breaking when designing interventions that aim to steer similar shopping decisions.
Electric vehicles (EVs) have the potential to mitigate the severity of significant concerns including environmental pollution and reliance on fossil fuels; however, despite strong governmental ...promotional efforts, their market penetration is still at the nascent stage. This paper empirically investigates the factors that affect the consumers’ intention to adopt EVs by conducting an exhaustive literature review. The initial search resulted in 1217 publications, but after a thorough exclusion process, 312 articles were deemed relevant and were sorted by source, publication year, country of origin, data collection method, and research domain. The results revealed the influential factors over individuals’ desire to adopt an EV were categorized into four main types (contextual, situational, demographic, and psychological). The most cited factors to adoption of EVs were found to be the lack of charging stations availability and their limited driving range, reduction in air pollution and the availability of policy incentives. The findings of this study may guide policymakers in formulating effective transportation and energy policies, as well as provide guidance to those who are responsible for designing EVs that fit the needs and demands of potential consumers.
Over the past decade, the rate of presidential turnover in higher education has accelerated, prompting research on what motivates the next generation of leaders. This article focuses on millennial ...women in Christian higher education, a sector where White male leaders have historically dominated: Women have remained underrepresented in college presidencies despite earning the majority of degrees at all levels. Although leadership literature has addressed that women have broken beyond the glass ceiling toward improved gender equity, both gender and generational barriers continue to impede a woman's ambition to pursue a presidency. The research herein was conducted using the theoretical framework by Dahlvig and Longman, a women's leadership development model, to investigate further millennial women's intrinsic and extrinsic motivators to aspire and pursue a presidency in Christian higher education. This article explores the relevant literature and examines the findings from interviews of 12 millennial women participants who work at Christian colleges and universities within the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities. Seven major themes emerged from the data: (a) patient preparation for the presidency; (b) the value of relationships, recognition, and representation; (c) how the experiences of current leaders differ; (d) what it means to be intrinsically wired as a leader; (e) care for the well-being of the institution; (f) exercising faith over fear; and (g) transformation through developmental relationships with mentors, coaches, and sponsors. These findings contribute to an understanding of the motivators of millennial women as they contrast with previous generations. Findings also support the adapted model proposed here, the millennial women's leadership development model, as well as offering practical implications for campus leaders and aspiring women presidents.
The continuous level of consumption in the fast fashion industry has a concerning effect and needs to be addressed through a strategic approach, as it has a considerable environmental, social, and ...economic impact. The study contributes to a better understanding of the barriers hindering the transition toward a more sustainable future in the fast fashion industry through qualitative research. We conducted the qualitative research using the Grounded Theory, which allows an evaluation from different and multiple perspectives, resulting in a more exhaustive and justified result. Our approach was exploratory, and the results will be tested in future studies. The purpose of the paper was to map the road to sustainable fashion by understanding the obstacles/barriers, and solutions/drivers for sustainable development. The sustainability fast fashion organizational barriers were identified in the international literature through a structured literature review and further tested for the Romanian market through interviews. After the NVivo Analysis, the identified barriers referenced the most to least, from a Romanian organisational dimensions perspective were financial barriers, insufficient management engagement, lack of Romanian governmental support and infrastructure, eco-friendly packaging, and stakeholder and supplier barriers. The most mentioned driver dimension from an organisational point of view was the existence of a financial reward system for stakeholders, funding programs from the Government and EU, the implementation of mandatory regulations, and the possibility of creating an infrastructure.

Objective
To examine the association of intrinsic motivators with physicians’ career satisfaction, life satisfaction, and clinical commitment, while accounting for established extrinsic motivators as well.
Design and Participants
A nationally representative survey of 2000 US physicians, fielded October to December 2011.
Main Measures
Outcome variables were five measures of physician well-being: career satisfaction, life satisfaction, high life meaning, commitment to direct patient care, and commitment to clinical practice. Primary explanatory variables were sense of calling, personally rewarding hours per day, meaningful, long-term relationships with patients, and burnout. Multivariate logit models with survey design provided nationally representative individual-level estimates.
Key Results
Among 1289 respondents, 85.8% and 86.5% were satisfied with their career and life, respectively; 88.6% had high life meaning; 54.5% and 79.5% intended to retain time in direct patient care and continue clinical practice, respectively. Sense of calling was strongly positively associated with high life meaning (odds ratio OR 5.14, 95% confidence interval 95% CI 2.87–9.19) and commitment to direct patient care (OR 2.50, 95% CI 1.53–4.07). Personally rewarding hours per day were most strongly associated with career satisfaction (OR 5.28, 95% CI 2.72–10.2), life satisfaction (OR 4.46, 95% CI 2.34–8.48), and commitment to clinical practice (OR 3.46, 95% CI 1.87–6.39). Long-term relationships with patients were positively associated with career and life satisfaction and high life meaning. Burnout was strongly negatively associated with all measures of physician well-being.
Conclusions
Intrinsic motivators (e.g., calling) were associated with each measure of physician well-being (satisfaction, meaning, and commitment), but extrinsic motivators (e.g., annual income) were not associated with meaning or commitment. Understanding the effects of intrinsic motivators may help inform efforts to support physician well-being.

This study explored nurse educators' motivators to uncover factors that influenced their decisions to persist in the profession.
Phenomenological qualitative study.
Participants worked in one of three purposefully selected universities–two in the midwestern and one in the southwestern United States.
Nurse educators (n = 16) who were teaching in nursing academic settings, had taught in academia for at least five concurrent years, and planned to continue teaching in nursing. All participants had worked as nurses in clinical settings prior to becoming nurse educators.
This qualitative study followed Moustakas' (1994) phenomenological methodology, utilizing criterion sampling, semi-structured interviews, and verbatim transcription. Analyses included open coding, theming, and horizontalization. Researchers established methodological rigor through data saturation, audit trails, confirmability audits, dependability audits, emic and etic triangulations, epoche, member checking, inquiry audit, negative case analysis, prolonged engagement with data, reflexivity, and thick descriptions.
Findings included intrinsic and extrinsic motivators comprising participants' persistence in the professional field of nursing education. Sub-aspects of intrinsic motivators included love of teaching, desire to learn more, satisfaction from professional service, and seeking professional challenges. Sub-aspects of extrinsic motivators included flexibility and professional advancement/opportunities.
Participants experienced more intrinsic than extrinsic motivators regarding their persistence in the profession. Nurse educators were attracted to and remained in academia when academic settings provided them with the opportunity to advance their formal education.

Background and Objectives: Delineating the motivating factors and hindrances for the donation is of utmost importance in planning recruitment strategies for blood donors in the success of blood ...transfusion services. This study attempts to evaluate the various reasons as to why or why not people donate blood. Methodology: This was an interview-based study. One hundred and fifty donors in each group, regular repeat donors and non-donors who were willing to be a part of the study and were capable of understanding the questionnaire were included in the study. Questionnaire enquired as to what motivated them to donate in case of regular repeat donors and as to why they never donated from non-donors. The responses were recorded and analyzed. Results: Forty-six percent of the respondents admitted that the friends who were already donors were the ones who influenced them to donate. People who never donated blood most commonly (47%) reported that they never donated because they were never asked to. The second-most common cause (32%) was that they perceived themselves to be not healthy enough to donate. Conclusion: This study suggests that individuals who have never donated might be influenced to donate if asked by coworkers, friends, or family while the blood center plays an important role in reminding or encouraging donors to return.
University students' motivators and preferences for yoga as their course of study can influence their future as yoga instructors and therapists.
Six hundred and thirty-six students of both genders ...(251:385, male: female) from four North Indian universities offering graduate and postgraduate courses in yoga were the respondents to a convenience sampling survey about their preferences and motivators.
The three most common reasons why students chose to study yoga were (i) "I can help many people through knowledge of yoga" (32.2%), (ii) "I will become a better person by studying yoga" (21.9%), and (iii) "I find yoga interesting" (18.9%). After completion of the course, most students wished (i) "to study another course in yoga" (28.8%), (ii) "to work in yoga and education in a university" (17.5%), and (iii) "to work in yoga and research" (14.3%). Students appreciated positive effects which they attributed to yoga (e.g. good health, feeling peaceful, and positive behavior changes).
Students did not like regulations such as early wakening and dietary restrictions. The available information about the scope, benefits, safety considerations, and requirements of yoga can help student aspirants make an informed choice about their future careers. Students of yoga can be further motivated by evidence informed interactive sessions.
