China’s rapid urbanization has led to an increasing level of exposure to air pollution and a decreasing level of exposure to vegetation among urban populations. Both trends may pose threats to psychological well-being. Previous studies on the interrelationships among greenness, air pollution and psychological well-being rely on exposure measures from remote sensing data, which may fail to accurately capture how people perceive vegetation on the ground. To address this research gap, this study aimed to explore relationships among neighbourhood greenness, air pollution exposure and psychological well-being, using survey data on 1029 adults residing in 35 neighbourhoods in Guangzhou, China. We used the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and streetscape greenery (SVG) to assess greenery exposure at the neighbourhood level, and we distinguished between trees (SVG-tree) and grasses (SVG-grass) when generating streetscape greenery exposure metrics. We used two objective (PM2.5 and NO2 concentrations) measures and one subjective (perceived air pollution) measure to quantify air pollution exposure. We quantified psychological well-being using the World Health Organization Well-Being Index (WHO-5). Results from multilevel structural equation models (SEM) showed that, for parallel mediation models, while the association between SVG-grass and psychological well-being was completely mediated by perceived air pollution and NO2, the relationship between SVG-tree and psychological well-being was completely mediated by ambient PM2.5, NO2 and perceived air pollution. None of three air pollution indicators mediated the association between psychological well-being and NDVI. For serial mediation models, measures of air pollution did not mediate the relationship between NDVI and psychological well-being. While the linkage between SVG-grass and psychological well-being scores was partially mediated by NO2-perceived air pollution, SVG-tree was partially mediated by both ambient PM2.5-perceived air pollution and NO2-perceived air pollution. Our results suggest that street trees may be more related to lower air pollution levels and better mental health than grasses are.
Objetivo: Determinar si existe relación entre las medidas de afrontamiento, nivel de actividad física y el bienestar de personas mayores con deterioro cognitivo leve frente a las personas sin ...deterioro cognitivo en situación de pandemia por COVID-19. Metodología: Estudio transversal que incluyó a 65 personas mayores que viven en la comunidad de Arica. Su rendimiento cognitivo fue evaluado con la evaluación cognitiva de Montreal (MoCA), sus estrategias de afrontamiento al estrés se midieron con el Inventario Multidimensional de Estimación del Afrontamiento (COPE -28), sus niveles de actividad física con el cuestionario internacional de actividad física (IPAQ), y su bienestar mediante el cuestionario de salud general GHQ12. Resultados: cuatro variables se comportaron de manera significativa como predictores de bajo bienestar: tener sexo femenino (B=-1,833; p=0,0495); edad cercana a los 60 años (B=-0,175; p=0,0305); usar bloqueo del afrontamiento al estrés (B=0,706; p=0); y usar menos Afrontamiento cognitivo (B=-0,436; p=0,001). Además, existió una significativa relación entre bajo bienestar y menor cantidad de METS en el grupo de actividad física moderada (p 0,022). Conclusión: La mayor prevalencia de bajo bienestar se observó en participantes con menor actividad física, género femenino y que utilizan el bloqueo de afrontamiento como estrategia a periodos de estrés. Estos resultados indican que es vital asegurar que las personas mayores permanezcan activas, y mantengan adecuadas medidas de afrontamiento, para ser más resilientes durante una crisis.
Método: Se efectúo un estudio cuantitativo correlacional-transversal y un muestreo aleatorio simple. La muestra fue de 83 cuidadores de niños con alguna condición de desarrollo o discapacidad, ...quienes cumplimentaron la Escala de Bienestar Psicológico de Ryff, la escala Multidimensional de Apoyo Social Percibido (MSPSS) y el cuestionario de Sobrecarga del Cuidador de Zarit. Conclusión: El grado de apoyo social informal que perciben los cuidadores de hijos con discapacidad permite lograr un óptimo bienestar psicológico ya que determina la existencia o no de sobrecarga. Algunas variables sociodemográficas parecen influir en la experiencia de estos cuidadores.
本稿では，介護者のwell-beingとは何か，またwell-beingの獲得を確認する方法とはどのようなものか，理論と実践，二側面の先行研究を用いて考察した．well-beingとは何かについての回答は，立場によって大きく異なる．哲学的側面では，“amounts to the notion of how well a person's life is going for that ...person”という概念に相当するとされている．しかし，正確さに欠ける懸念もあり，well-beingを定義する際には，定義のStrategy（分析対象・議論領域・定義の方向性），subjective well-beingかpsychological well-beingかのスタンスを検討する必要性がある．そして，心理学領域から，“feeling good and functioning well”“個人の人生における快い主観的な経験，意味・意義のある活動，人間としての可能性を実現する社会的な関係から成る複合的な概念”という定義がなされている．これらの定義の根底にあるのはthe whole human pictureを捉える重要性である．さらに発展させた形態としてWell-beingの構成要素がPERMA（Positive Emotion，Engagement，Relationships，Meaning，Accomplishment）という仮説的定義があり，この構成要素がwell-beingの予測因子になりうるか研究が進められている．一方，介護領域の介入試験のアウトカムで用いた既存尺度の探索Review研究では，1．Global Measure of well-being（Depressive Symptoms・Mental health・QOL・Satisfaction with life・Health），2．Caregiver-Specific Well-being measures（Burden・Role strain・Personal strain/Stress・Competence/self-efficacy）に大別された．そしてDepression，Burdenなどwell-beingのnegativeな側面に焦点化した測定が大半を占めた．この結果は，従来の疾病管理的側面の体験により，Patho-genesis的な志向（健康にとって望ましくない要素・問題を除去し改善することが善）への親和性を示している．認知症介護を巨視的，包括的に捉え，介護者のWell-beingを定量的に評価する簡便な測定ツールが無いとするならば，当面は，複数のツールで評価せざるをえない．測定する内容（種別・項目）を増やすことは，測定対象者（介護者）のQOLを著しく下げることになりかねない．認知症介護を巨視的，包括的に捉え，介護者のwell-being状態を簡便に把握するにはどのようにすればいいのか，その解として，介護者向け心理教育的介入試験で実施したSocial Work手法のEco-mapにヒントがあることを示した．
This paper discusses what well-being means to caregivers and how it can be measured to confirm its acquisition by using previous research on theoretical and practical aspects.Within the field of ...psychology, the two types of well-being (subjective and psychological well-being) are combined to form "feeling good and functioning well", which refers to "pleasant subjective experiences, meaningful activities and the realization of human potential in an individual's life".On the other hands, a review study reported on the Global Measure of well-being, that is, depressive symptoms, mental health, QOL, satisfaction with life and health, also on caregiver-specific well-being measures that are burden, role strain, personal strain, stress, competence and self-efficacy. The majority of measures focused on the negative aspects of well-being.If there is no simple measurement tool that captures both the positive and negative aspects of well-being, a comprehensive and quantitative evaluation of dementia care, so for the present there is no alternative but to using multiple tools for evaluation.The Eco-map of the Ecological Social Work method, which was used in a psycho-educational intervention for caregivers, was shown to provide a hint as to how to take a macroscopic and comprehensive view of dementia care and how to easily grasp an understanding of the well-being of caregivers.

This article aims to provide a reflection on the consequences on the social, physical and psychological well-being of coaches of the Promesas Chile Program, as a result of the confinement caused by ...the COVID-19 pandemic, taking as a reference the work developed with athletes online during Pandemic. From the methodological point of view, the study is installed in the interpretative-qualitative perspective, in such a way that 14 semi-structured interviews were carried out with Coaches via team, zoom or meet, with the aim of avoiding physical contact with the interviewees. The Results show a significant impact on the social well-being of the coaches, affecting various areas of their lives, the strengthening of the relationship with the athletes is positively valued, despite this, job uncertainty and the economic crisis generated concern and anxiety. The coaches expressed a high level of stress and sadness, due to the effects of the Pandemic on their athletes, however, they also expressed a high degree of resilience to overcome negative states. The time of the Pandemic allowed the coaches to rediscover the importance of their own family life in front of the technical work with their athletes, generating a greater understanding of the effect of their exclusive dedication to sport in their closest environment, this also raises interesting lines of research on work-life balance
El presente artículo pretende aportar una reflexión sobre las consecuencias en el bienestar social, físico y psicológico de entrenadores del Programa Promesas Chile, producto del confinamiento producido por la pandemia COVID-19, tomando como referencia el trabajo desarrollado con los deportistas de manera online durante la pandemia. Desde el punto de vista metodológico, el estudio se instala en la perspectiva interpretativo-cualitativa, de tal manera que se realizaron 14 entrevistas semi-estructuradas a Entrenadores vía team, zoom o meet, con el objetivo de evitar el contacto físico con los entrevistados. Los Resultados muestran un impacto significativo en el bienestar social de los entrenadores, afectando diversas áreas de su vida, se valora positivamente el fortalecimiento de la relación con los deportistas, a pesar de ello, la incertidumbre laboral y la crisis económica generaron preocupación y ansiedad. Los entrenadores expresaron un elevado nivel de stress y tristeza, por los efectos de la Pandemia en sus deportistas, sin embargo, manifestaron al mismo tiempo un alto grado de resiliencia para superar los estados negativos. El tiempo de Pandemia permitió a los entrenadores redescubrir la importancia de su propia vida familiar frente al trabajo técnico con sus deportistas, generando una mayor comprensión sobre el efecto de su dedicación exclusiva al deporte en su entorno más cercano, esto plantea, además, interesantes líneas de investigación en la conciliación trabajo-vida personal.
Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is a disease that transcends glycemic alteration, profoundly affecting patients' physical, psychological, and social quality of life. This review comprehensively ...addresses the crucial role of physical activity in managing T2DM. Using a rigorous search strategy, thirty-seven relevant articles were identified, excluding those that did not meet the defined inclusion criteria. The physiological and metabolic adaptations induced by exercise were explored through a detailed analysis, highlighting their impact on organic homeostasis, and preventing complications. Global barriers to physical activity adoption, from cultural perceptions to socioeconomic constraints. The results emphasize physical activity as a dynamic intervention that encompasses multiple organ systems and transcends as an essential component in the therapeutic arsenal against T2DM, placing it in parallel with traditional interventions. In conclusion, this paper highlights the role of activity as an essential tool that offers multifaceted benefits supporting the improvement of the quality of life of patients with T2DM, calling for its promotion as a therapeutic pillar.
La Diabetes Mellitus Tipo 2 (DM2) es una enfermedad que va más allá de la mera alteración glucémica, impactando profundamente la calidad de vida de los pacientes en dimensiones físicas, psicológicas y sociales. Esta revisión aborda de manera exhaustiva el papel crucial de la actividad física en el manejo integral de la DM2. Mediante una estrategia de búsqueda rigurosa, se identificaron 31 artículos relevantes, excluyendo aquellos que no cumplían con los criterios de inclusión definidos. A través de un análisis detallado, se exploraron las adaptaciones fisiológicas y metabólicas inducidas por el ejercicio, destacando su impacto en la homeostasis orgánica y la prevención de complicaciones. Se identificaron barreras globales para la adopción de la actividad física, desde percepciones culturales hasta limitaciones socioeconómicas. Los resultados hacen hincapié en la actividad física, como una intervención dinámica que engloba múltiples sistemas del organismo, y que trasciende como un componente esencial en el arsenal terapéutico contra la DM2, situándola en paralelo, con las intervenciones tradicionales. En conclusión, se destaca el papel de la actividad como una herramienta esencial que ofrece beneficios multifacéticos que apoyan en la mejora de la calidad de vida de los pacientes con DM2, haciendo un llamado a su promoción como pilar terapéutico.
