A firm's working-capital account balances demonstrate substantial connections with its financial policy. Receivables and inventories are associated with lower asset volatility and higher future cash ...flow, and correlate with increased leverage. Conversely, payables show a positive association with shareholder return volatility and a negative correlation with future cash flow and are linked to decreased debt levels. In dynamic panel regressions estimated with system Generalized Method of Moments (GMM), a one standard-deviation increase in payables (receivables) is associated with a 0.42 (0.66) standard-deviation decrease (increase) in leverage. Furthermore, higher levels of inventories and receivables are linked with higher firm credit ratings, along with a preference for debt financing over equity issuance, while increased payables are linked with lower credit ratings and a tendency to favor equity financing over debt financing. The QuickPay regulatory shock, expediting payments and reducing receivables' volume and quality, diminished their collateral role and lowered debt sensitivity to receivables.

One of the most important aspects of operational financial management is related to the management of the working capital of enterprises. A significant portion of this capital is invested in trade ...receivables, which are obtained from deferred sales. On the one hand, nowadays trade credit has a stimulating effect on customer purchases, but on the other hand, incorrect assessment of the creditworthiness of customers and the risk of non-payment (default risk) can negatively affect the financial condition of the enterprise and lead to chain bankruptcies. In the specialized literature on company finance management, the problems of working capital management and risk management of trade receivables are considered in detail. However, the question of the complex assessment of the creditworthiness of customers and the decision on the optimal credit limit remains to some extent insufficiently developed. Summarizing the following key components considered in the literature – 1) overall economic situation, ownership, management and strategy of the company; 2) its revenue and profitability; 3) liquidity and financial leverage; 4) cash flow and turnover, this article focuses on developing and demonstrating the application of an approach to assess the financial condition of customers, to make an adequate decision on credit limit and to avoid the risk of non-payment of commercial loans. The article also presents the results of a descriptive statistical analysis regarding some key financial indicators of Bulgarian enterprises, the credit limits requested by them and the results of applying the presented model.

The article seeks to investigate the problems of organizing accounting of receivables in the management of the enterprise, to take into account the updated requirements of normative legal acts on its ...implementation and to propose approaches to improvement. The study of legal requirements and the latest publications on the organization of accounts receivable in the management of the company involves only a partial display of the organization of accounts receivable, namely, either principles, or classification, the creation of a working plan of accounts, where the managerial component is not taken into account. The indicated shortcomings encourage the author to step-by-step proposals for the creation of an "Order on the policy of managerial accounting", which outlines the selected methodological principles of financial accounting of accounts receivable "Ordinance on the system of managerial accounting of enterprises" where it is necessary to specify developed regulatory acts, primary documents and registers of managerial accounting of receivables. The implementation of the proposal on the organization of management accounting of receivables into the practical activities of wholesale trade companies will allow this area to be divided into stages that facilitate tracking of the need to build or reduce its volumes, maturities, terms of calculation, additional work with counteragents, the need to apply to judicial authorities or enterprises outsource.
This paper studies the effect of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and customer relationships on the stock price during the COVID-19 pandemic. The empirical results show that CSR practices ...improve firms’ resilience to the negative health crisis shocks. The functional principal component analysis helps display the relationship between CSR and cumulative abnormal returns (CAR). It shows that CSR practices improve customers’ cooperation willingness. Customers of high-CSR firms pay invoices faster during the crisis, which results in less increment of accounts receivable. Hence, high-CSR firms gain more cash support from their customers to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in higher cumulative abnormal returns.
