Risks in logistic processes represent one of the major issues in supply chain management nowadays. Every organization strives for success, and uninterrupted operations are the key factors in ...achieving this goal, which cannot be achieved without efficient risk management. In the scope of supply chain risk research, we identified some key issues in the field, the major issue being the lack of standardization and models, which can make risk management in an organization easier and more efficient. Consequently, we developed a model, which captures and identifies risks in an organization and its supply chain. It is in accordance with the general risk management standard - ISO 31000, and incorporates some relevant recent findings from general and supply chain risk management, especially from the viewpoint of public segmentation. This experimental catalogue (which is also published online) can serve as a checklist and a starting point of supply chain risk management in organizations. Its main idea is cooperation between experts from the area in order to compile an evergrowing list of possible risks and to provide an insight in the model and its value in practice, for which reason input and opinions of anyone who uses our model are greatly appreciated and included in the catalogue. PUBLICATION ABSTRACT
Today it is necessary to systematically consider the selection of the tunnelling method at a very early stage of a project. These early considerations regarding the construction method are usually ...necessary because of the approval (e.g. EIA) or award regulations, or are essential for the evaluation of tenders. The quite different procedures that can be applied on individual projects are illustrated through three examples.
The Brenner Eisenbahn GmbH (BEG) was appointed in 1995 to design and construct the new railway line in the Lower Inn Valley between the national border near Kufstein and Innsbruck. In the densely ...populated Inn Valley, large parts of the line with a planned speed of 250 km/h had to be run through tunnels. Near Jenbach, a semi‐quantitative process was used as part of a risk analysis for the decision between the variants of a shallow, mined special construction and a deep mechanically driven tunnel.

Risks in supply chains represent one of the major business issues today. Since every organization strives for success and uninterrupted operations, efficient supply chain risk management is crucial. ...During supply chain risk research at the Faculty of Logistics in Maribor (Slovenia) some key issues in the field were identified, the major being the lack of instruments which can make risk management in an organization easier and more efficient. Consequently, a model which captures and describes risks in an organization and its supply chain was developed. It is in accordance with the general risk management and supply chain security standards, the ISO 31000 and ISO 28000 families. It also incorporates recent finding from the risk management field, especially from the viewpoint of segmenting of the public. The model described in this paper focuses on the risks itself by defining them by different key dimensions, so that risk management is simplified and can be undertaken in every supply chain and organizations within them. Based on our mode and consequent practical research in actual organizations, a freely accessible risk catalog has been assembled and published online from the risks that have been identified so far. This catalog can serve as a checklist and a starting point in supply chain risk management in organizations. It also incorporates experts from the field into a community, in order to assemble an ever growing list of possible risks and to provide insight into the model and its value in practice.
