U ovome ćemo radu nastojati opisati
umetnute nerestriktivne
relativne rečenice
kao tipične parentetičke strukture. Opis će podrazumijevati
njihovu sintaksičku i semantičku interpretaciju, ali i ...naznake o njihovoj
pragmatičkoj ulozi i zasnivat će se na analizi primjera pronađenih u korpusu
tekstova koji pripadaju različitim stilovima bosanskoga jezika. Rad je podijeljen
u tri dijela. U prvom ćemo dijelu definirati parentetike i dati pregled
dosadašnjih pristupa u analiziranju te pojave. U drugome dijelu rada fokusirat
ćemo se na definiranje i analizu
umetnutih nerestriktivnih relativnih rečenica
,
a u trećem će se dijelu izdvojiti najznačajnija zapažanja.
In this paper, we will seek to describe inserted non-restrictive relative sentences as typical parenthetical structures. The description will include their syntactic and semantic interpretation, as well as indications about their pragmatic role, and will be based on an analysis of examples found in a corpus of texts belonging to different styles of Bosnian language. The paper is divided into three parts. In the first part, we will define parentheticals and give an overview of the approaches taken so far in analyzing this phenomenon. In the second part of the paper, we will focus on defining and analyzing the inserted non-restrictive relative sentences, and in the third part, we will highlight the most significant observations.
U radu se prikazuje i uspoređuje opis sintaktičke razine hrvatskoga jezika u gramatikama brodskih jezikoslovaca, i to u
Grammatik der Illyrischen Sprache
(1833.) Ignjata Alojzija Brlića te u ...istoimenoj gramatici njegova sina Andrije Torkvata Brlića (1854.). Kako je 1836. objelodanjena
Osnova slovnice slavjanske narěčja ilirskoga
Vjekoslava Babukića, prva općehrvatska gramatika koja je pedesetak godina bila temeljem jezične norme, gramatika I. A. Brlića nije imala značajniju praktičnu primjenu. Sličnu je sudbinu doživjela i gramatika A. T. Brlića (koju danas gotovo svi jezikoslovci navode tek kao bibliografski podatak), objavljena iste godine kao i Babukićeva
Ilirska slovnica
The paper deals with the comparison of the Croatian syntax in two identically titled grammar books
Grammatik der Illyrischen Sprache
(1833; 1854) by Ignjat Alojzije Brlić and his son Andrija Torkvat Brlić. Since Vjekoslav Babukić’s
Osnova slovnice slavjanske narěčja ilirskoga
(1836), the first grammar book of the general Croatian, formed the basis of the linguistic norm for about fifty years, I.A. Brlić’s grammar book did not have any significant practical implications. Sharing the same destiny, A.T. Brlić’s grammar book is cited today mainly as the bibliographic entry. It was published in the same year as Babukić’s
Ilirska slovnica
and it was the first attempt to provide a comprehensive scientifically-based grammar book in Croats. The syntactic description presented in the paper is based on the contrastive analysis. Though younger Brlić wrote his grammar book during the revival movement, many of its features remained similar to the pre-standard grammar books, including the one by I.A. Brlić. This is supported by the fact that the grammar book, intended to be used by German soldiers who learned Croatian, was written in German, while the examples were provided in Croatian and German. As in the older Brlić’s grammar book, its syntactic description was based on the phrase and case syntax.
U
radu se prikazuju i komentiraju sintaktičke napomene koje Dragutin Antun Parčić
zapisuje u Slaganju, prvom dijelu sintakse u Grammatici della lingua slava (illirica) (1873., 21878.). Parčićev se ...sintaktički nauk uspoređuje s
Veberovim u djelima Skladnja ilirskoga jezika (1859.) i Slovnica hèrvatska za srednja učilišta (1871).
Grammatica della lingua slava (illirica)
was written in the
Italian language, which was the official language in the 19th century Dalmatia,
where Parčić spent most of his life. The grammar is divided into two parts:
rječoslovje
(phonetics and phonology,
morphology and word formation) and
skladnja
(syntax). The syntactic part is further divided into three parts:
Slaganje
(Agreement),
Poraba i djelovanje
(Usage and Function)
and
Poredanje rieči
(Word Order). The
paper analyses the first part of the Syntax – Agreement. Syntactic features
described by Dragutin Antun Parčić are compared to those described by Veber in
Skladnja ilirskoga jezika
(1859) and
Slovnica hèrvatska za srednja učilišta
(1871). While Veber describes the sentence, its parts and relations between
them, Parčić only defines the subject, predicate, attribute and object and
describes the relations between them in the Agreement section. Although the
level of the sentence is not included in the Agreement, Parčić mentions the
term simple sentence without explaining it.

poznatih činjenica o njezinu statusu u hrvatskome književnom i standardnom
jeziku.
The
paper focuses on the syntactic traits of the Croatian language in the editions
of the Karletzky Printing House which operated in Rijeka from 1779 until the
last decade of the 19th century. Among those that have been attested in several
editions, even those of different types, and that are confirmed as a part of
the syntactic structure of the Croatian language in the 19th
century, or that indicate changes caused by the linguistic development and
standardization processes, is the
za +
infinitive
structure. In this paper we analyse the frequency, status and
function of this structure in the Karletzky Printing House editions in the
Croatian language in the period between 1790 and 1878 and we view it in the context of the currently available facts about
its status in Croatian literature and standard language.
Jezične
se značajke mijenjaju tijekom vremena, neke manje, a neke više, neke sporije, a
neke brže. Stoga je nužno promotriti sintaktičke raznolikosti u dijakroniji i
sinkroniji. Premda je svaki ...pravni dokument dio jezične statičnosti pa ga
vidimo kao jedan sinkronijski režanj, cjeloviti pristup nizu dokumenata u
vremenu (odnosno takvome nizu sinkronijskih režnjeva) omogućava utvrđivanje
dinamičnosti jezičnih pojava, a koji se može interpretirati s dijakronijskoga
motrišta. Analiza je napravljena na primjeru pravnih tekstova od srednjega
vijeka (počevši od
Vinodolskoga zakona
iz 1288. godine) i ranoga
novovjekovlja (sa statutima i urbarima) preko 19. stoljeća (s postavljanjem
suvremenih zakonskih modela) do naših dana. Izdvajaju se sljedeće tri pojave:
sastav predikata, mjesto atributa u imenskim skupinama i čestotnost pojedinih
rečeničnih tipova. Rezultati pokazuju da su u predikatima ranije prevladavali
imperativ, prezent i kondicional, dok su danas uobičajeni prezent i futur, da
postpozicija atributa, iako je u starijim tekstovima češća, nije pravilo, te da
su najčešće pogodbene i subjektne rečenice, što danas također nije slučaj.
Linguistic traits change over time – some to a
greater, and others to a lesser extent. Some are slower to change, others are
quicker. Therefore, it is necessary to view syntactic diversity from both the
diachronic and the synchronic perspective. Although every legal document is a
part of linguistic staticity and we see it as a synchronic segment, an
integrated approach to a series of documents in time (that is to a series of
such synchronic segments) enables us to determine the dynamics of linguistic
phenomena and to interpret them from the diachronic perspective. Our analysis
has been conducted on the basis of a large corpus of legal texts beginning from
the medieval (starting from the Vinodolski zakon from 1288) and early modern
period (including numerous statutes and urbaria), over the 19th century (when
the contemporary legal models were established) to our times. We focus on the
following three phenomena: the composition of the predicate, the position of
the adjective in a noun phrase and the frequency of various types of clauses.
The results reveal that the dominant forms in predicates used to be the
imperative, the present tense and the conditional, while nowadays the present
tense and future are common, that the postposition of the adjective, although
more frequent in older texts, is not a rule, and that the most frequent types
of clauses are conditional and subject clauses, which is not the case nowadays.
Njihova ovladanost vrstama rečenica ispitana je slikovnicom ‘Frog, where are you?’ (Mayer 1969).
Rezultati su pokazali da djeca mlađe školske dobi proizvode različite rečenične strukture. Proizvode više složenih nego jednostavnih
rečenica, a unutar složenih rečenica najzastupljenije su višestrukosložene rečenice. Od nezavisnosloženih rečenica djeca proizvode sastavne i suprotne rečenice te rečenični niz. Unutar jednostavnih najviše je proširenih rečenica. Pojavljuje se i mali broj neproširenih te svega jedna neoglagoljena rečenica.
Although the development of syntax is at its peak between ages three and
five, it continues to develop during school-age, however, much slower. The aim of this paper is to find out the main types of sentences acquired by younger school-age children, more precisely in grades 2 and 4
as, according to the curriculum, sentence types are not taught at this stage yet. Furthermore, the aim is to establish possible individual differences between children, as well as to find out whether older children's use of sentence structures is more complex than that of younger children. Beside that the paper emphasises the use of relative clauses since the use of sentences with embedded structures is the greatest achievement of linguistic development which is intensively acquired not until school age (Balija, Hržica, Kuvač Kraljević, 2012.).
The research included 20 younger school-age children – eight-year-olds and ten-year-olds. Their acquisition of sentence types was tested by means of the picture book ‘Frog, where are you?’ (Mayer 1969).
The results show that younger school-age children make different sentence structures. They make more complex sentences, and among complex
sentences multiple complex ones are predominantly used. As for compound
clauses, children use linking and contrast, as well as asyndetic coordination. Among simple sentences, extended clauses are mostly used. There is also a small number of non-extended clauses and only one clause
without a verb.
(Mayer 1969) ermittelt.

Razmjerno česta su u razgovorima i značenjska pražnjenja početnih odnosno završnih dijelova izričaja i jezična pojednostavljivanja upotrebom manje specificiranih odnosnih elemenata.
Conversational language use is characterised by more frequent verbal interventions than is the case in monologic language uses, the intent of the interventions being to revise one’s own utterances, complement them or accompany them by appropriate utterances, or to react verbally to the initial utterance of the interlocutor. Such frequent interventions result in occasional shorter-length utterances in conversations. Other quite frequent features in conversations include emptying of the meaning of initial or ending parts of utterances and linguistic simplifications achieved by using less specific relational elements. One of the reasons for all the above-mentioned characteristics of conversational language is the emergence of the process of information creation and the resulting need to make new verbal moves at any moment of oneʼs own turn. The reasons certainly also relate to language processing, which is not instantaneous but requires some time, and in claiming the right by all interlocutors to assume the role of a speaker in the conversation, which reaches its peak immediately after complete meaningful, linguistic, functional, and melodic utterances, or a sequence of utterances. The corpus of this research comprises Croatian Radio’s phone-in radio shows broadcast during the last decade and lasting approximately ten hours in total. The goal of the research is to single out both syntactic and semantic structures that are inherent exclusively to the conversational use of the Croatian language. After listening to the conversations, recording them, and performing the qualitative analysis of sequences in the conversations, the following features were singled out: apo koinou constructions, subsequent additions to sentences, free-standing topics, other examples of syntactic fragmentation of conversations, examples of linguistic simplification, examples of “last minute” questions, and examples of semantic emptying of initial or ending parts of utterances.
