Since the multigranulation rough sets (MGRS) can be considered as the compositions of multi-independent Pawlak’s rough sets, the multigranulation rough set rules (MGRS rules) are then the ...compositions of decision rules, which are supported by multi-independent Pawlak’s rough sets. To measure MGRS rules, both the local and global views are employed in this paper. In local view, the support, certainty and coverage factors are proposed to measure MGRS rules, which are support by an object; while in global view, these three factors are proposed to measure MGRS rules, which are coexisting in a decision system. The necessary conditions for these factors to achieve maximal and minimal values are also addressed. Some numerical examples are employed to substantiate the conceptual arguments.
In recent years, information technology (IT) has become prominent to support teaching and learning activities. IT tools allow us to create, collect, store and use information and knowledge. ...E-learning was one of the IT tools introduced at College of Science and Technology (CST), University Technology Malaysia (UTM) Kuala Lumpur since 2001. It has enabled a paradigm shift from institution-centered instruction to anywhere, anytime and anybody learning models. In CST the e-learning technology was used for accessing the syllabus and course content, submitting assignments, and taking class quizzes. This paper focuses on issues relating to the e-learning critical success factors (CSFs) from the university students’ perspective. In this study, two main factors related to the e-learning CSFs within a university environment including technological and institutional support factors were examined. The confirmatory factor modeling approach was used to assess the criticality of the measures included in each factor. The results indicated that the most critical measures for technological factor in terms of ease of access and infrastructure are the browser efficiency, ease of use of course website and computer network reliability. Meanwhile, for institutional support factor, the most critical measure is the availability of technical support or help desk.
Construction of the seat and back of the office chair, as an actual object of the human working environment, is important in its final design since these are the elements that are in a direct and ...close contact with human body. The sitting position is the most frequent working position of the modern man in the developed world. Independently of the type of work, a sound and physiologically correct sitting position diminishes fatigue during work and strain of the spine, and suitable posture during sitting significantly contributes to the increase of concentration and efficiency. Sitting as a working position can be examined through coordination of anthropometric sizes and form of the seat and back, or mechanically, by determining the relation between the user and the seat quality, where the comfort index or support factor has a great influence. The comfort index as one of the factors of sitting comfort is the result of mechanical characteristics of the observed chair. This paper shows the results of ‘’mechanical comfort’’ that the chair can offer to the user. The results of determining the seat comfort on office chairs are featured through comfort index obtained from elastic characteristics of materials in the seat, but also of the chair itself according to Technical Specifications HRS ENV 14443.

Using gesture for interaction is a notion of natural human computer interaction. The use of gesture requires a correct identification of the intended pose by the system. Already numerous algorithms ...are working on it but not paying much attention on the complexity. Hence in this paper, a hybrid algorithm is being introduced to reduce the complexity of process also to make it insensitive with respect to the position of camera by making use of Gabor filter to get the structure of the hand followed by the Mel scaling in order to reduce the dimensions along with feature extraction using triangular filters. For the classification purpose Support vector machine has been used as a classifier.
