In The Politics of the Welfare State in Turkey, author Erdem Yörük provides a politics-based explanation for the post-1980 transformation of the Turkish welfare system, in which poor relief policies ...have replaced employment-based social security. This book is one of the results of Yörük’s European Research Council-funded project, which compares the political dynamics in several emerging markets in order to develop a new political theory of welfare in the global south. As such, this book is an ambitious analytical and empirical contribution to understanding the causes of a sweeping shift in the nature of state welfare provision in Turkey during the recent decades—part of a global trend that extends far beyond Turkey. Most scholarship about Turkey and similar countries has explained this shift toward poor relief as a response to demographic and structural changes including aging populations, the decline in the economic weight of industry, and the informalization of labor, while ignoring the effect of grassroots politics. In order to overcome these theoretical shortages in the literature, the book revisits concepts of political containment and political mobilization from the earlier literature on the mid-twentieth-century welfare state development and incorporates the effects of grassroots politics in order to understand the recent welfare system shift as it materialized in Turkey, where a new matrix of political dynamics has produced new large-scale social assistance programs.

Through an exploration of three towns in the southwest corner of Georgia, all of which are situated close to the Turkish frontier, Mathijs Pelkmans shows how social and cultural boundaries took on greater importance in the years of transition, when such divisions were expected to vanish. By tracing the fears, longings, and disillusionment that border dwellers projected on the Iron Curtain, Pelkmans demonstrates how elements of culture formed along and in response to territorial divisions, and how these elements became crucial in attempts to rethink the border after its physical rigidities dissolved in the 1990s.
The new boundary-drawing activities had the effect of grounding and reinforcing Soviet constructions of identity, even though they were part of the process of overcoming and dismissing the past. Ultimately, Pelkmans finds that the opening of the border paradoxically inspired a newfound appreciation for the previously despised Iron Curtain as something that had provided protection and was still worth defending.
Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan penggunaan media teka-teki silang (crossword puzzle) untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca dan menulis kosakata bahasa Arab peserta didik di MI Ma’arif ...Giriloyo 1 Imogiri Bantul. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang terdiri dari 2 siklus. Masing-masing siklus terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas III MI Ma’arif Giriloyo 1 Imogiri Bantul yang berjumlah 37 orang. Data tentang kemampuan membaca dan menulis kosakata bahasa Arab dikumpulkan melalui lembar observasi, wawancara, dan tes. Data yang telah terkumpul kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik analisis kuantitatif deskriptif. Pada siklus I, persentase kemampuan membaca dan menulis kosakata bahasa Arab peserta didik diperoleh hasil signifikan dari prasiklus yaitu 83% untuk kemampuan membaca dan 72% untuk kemampuan menulis, kemudian terus naik pada hasil siklus II yaitu 90% untuk kemampuan membaca dan 80% untuk kemampuan menulis. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan membaca dan menulis kosakata bahasa Arab melalui penggunaan media teka-teki silang (crossword puzzle) yang mencakup (1) pembelajaran menjadi lebih efektif dan menyenangkan, (2) peserta didik lebih mudah membaca kosakata bahasa Arab, (3) peserta didik lebih mudah menulis kosakata bahasa Arab, (4) guru lebih mudah membimbing peserta didik yang masih kesulitan.

The study was conducted at SMAN 01 Rumpin on even semester year 2019/2020. Purposive sampling was used to determine the sample that class XI science I as experiment class and class XI science II as control class. This study used a quasi-experimental method as a research methodology and nonequivalent control group research design. This study used 8 essay questions as instrumental tests and questionnaires as instrumental nontest. Based on hypothesis test of posttest score by using t’ test showed Sig. (2-tailed) < significant standard. This shows that learning using inquiry model with technique pictorial riddle based digital effect to the creative thinking of the student. Also, in the experimental N-Gain test the experimental class increased which was superior to the control class. While, the results of questionnaire response of students to learning using inquiry model with technique pictorial riddle base digital, who got a very good category (78%). AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model inkuiri dengan teknik teka-teki bergambar berbasis digital terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa dalam konsep suhu dan kalor. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMAN 01 Rumpin pada semester genap tahun 2019/2020. Purposive sampling digunakan untuk menentukan sampel yaitu kelas XI IPA I sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI IPA II sebagai kelas kontrol. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen semu sebagai metodologi penelitian dan desain penelitian kelompok kontrol nonequivalent. Penelitian ini menggunakan 8 soal essay sebagai tes instrumental dan angket sebagai instrumental nontest. Berdasarkan uji hipotesis skor posttest dengan menggunakan uji t menunjukkan Sig. (2-tailed) <standar signifikan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan model inkuiri dengan teknik bergambar teka-teki berbasis digital berpengaruh terhadap daya pikir kreatif siswa. Selain itu, pada uji coba N-Gain kelas eksperimen mengalami peningkatan yang lebih unggul dari kelas kontrol. Sedangkan hasil angket respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran menggunakan model inkuiri dengan teknik bergambar riddle base digital memperoleh kategori sangat baik (78%).

Development stage using Dick and Carey development model (2009) which consist of ten stages. The result of validation and experiments conducted resulted the data as, (a) the validation result by the experts reached the percentage of 84.33% with very valid criterion, (b) small group trial result with percentage of 98.61% with very interesting criterion, (c) ) the result of the field trial obtained 99.5% percentage with very practical criteria, and (d) the effectiveness test showed a significant increase in the difference between pretest and posttest score after use of the product. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan sebuah produk berupa buku ajar berbentuk cerita anak dilengkapi dengan permainan teka-teki silang yang valid, menarik, praktis, dan efektif digunakan dalam menunjang proses pembelajaran. Tahapan pengembangan menggunakan model pengembangan Dick dan Carey (2009) yang tediri dari sepuluh tahapan. Hasil validasi dan uji coba yang dilakukan dihasilkan data sebagai berikut (a) hasil validasi oleh para ahli mencapai persentase sebesar 84.33% dengan kriteria sangat valid, (b) hasil uji coba kelompok kecil dengan persentase sebesar 98.61% dengan kriteria sangat menarik, (c) hasil uji coba lapangan diperoleh persentase sebesar 99.5% dengan kriteria sangat praktis, dan (d) uji efektivitas menunjukkan adanya kenaikan yang signifikan perolehan selisih skor pretest dan posttest setelah penggunaan produk.

Di sekolah MI Nurul Iman Pengabuan Kabupaten PALI berdasarkan observasi awal belum menggunakan media pembelajaran yang inovatif, terkhusus pada mata pelajaran bahasa Arab.Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini bagaimana pengunaan media teka teki silang dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas II pada pembelajaran bahasa Arab di Madrasah Itidaiyah Nurul Iman Pengabuan? bagaimana hasil belajar siswa menggunakan media teka teki silang pada pembelajaran bahasa Arab di madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nurul Iman Pengabuan Kabupaten PALI ? apakah ada perbedaan hasil belajar siswa sebelum dan setelah menggunakan media teka teki silang pada pembelajaran bahasa Arab di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nurul Iman Pengabuan Kabupaten PALI?. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penggunaan media teka teki silang dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar bahasa Arab. Adapun pengambilan sampel dalam peneltian ini, penulis hanya mengambil kelas II sebagai kelas eksperimen yang berjumlah 18 siswa berdasarkan Simple random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah tes, observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis uji “t”.Dengan demikian, hasil eksperimen yang penulis lakukan menunjukan hal-hal sebagai berikut: Pertama hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Arab materi penegnalan angka 1-10 di kelas II madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nurul Iman Pengabuan sebelum diterapkanya media Teka Teki Silang nilai siswa yaitu 56,11 (pre-test) mengalami peningkatan nilai mean setelah diterapkannya media Teka Teki Silang meningkat menjadi 79,44 (post-test). Kedua, ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil belajar pre-test dan post-test yang dapat diinterprestasikan bahwa Hipotesis Nihil ditolak yaitu tt 5% < to > tt atau 2,11< 11,73> 2,90. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan antara hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Arab sebelum dan setelah menggunakan media Teka Teki Silang.
