Abstract
On an influential line of thinking tracing back to Ramsey, conditionals are closely linked to the attitude of supposition. When applied to counterfactuals, this view suggests a subjunctive ...version of the so-called Ramsey test: the probability of a counterfactual If A, would B ought to be equivalent to the probability of B, under the subjunctive supposition that A. I present a collapse result for any view that endorses the subjunctive version of the Ramsey test. Starting from plausible assumptions, the result shows that one’s rational credence in a would-counterfactual and in the corresponding might-counterfactual have to be identical.

The findings highlight a growth in productivity of doctoral theses, a production characterized by directors, occasional universities, and a social network formed by the most productive directors in doctoral theses on the Roma.
Improving the quality of Bachelor's and Master's theses while at the same time increasing the number of theses without expanding the existing resources proportionately is a huge challenge faced by ...higher educational institutions. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of multiple change processes on Bachelors and Masters level thesis work in a selected higher educational institution. The following research questions were studied: (1) How has the thesis quality changed? (2) How has the number of completed theses changed? and, (3) How has the ratio of completed theses per supervisor changed? The change processes were introduced into the thesis process in the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences (DSV), Stockholm University during 2008-2014. The results show that the quality and the number of completed theses have significantly increased. The multiple change processes including a purpose built ICT system named SciPro, which was introduced and improved incrementally during 2010-2014 are discussed and evaluated in relation to these results.
Student engagement has attracted much research attention in higher education because of various potential benefits associated with improved engagement. Despite extensive research on student ...engagement in higher education, little has been written about graduate students’ engagement with supervisory feedback. This paper reports on a study on student engagement with supervisory feedback on master’s theses conducted in the context of Nepalese higher education. The study employed an exploratory sequential mixed-methods design that drew on interviews and a questionnaire-based survey involving supervisors and students from four disciplines at a comprehensive university in Nepal. Analyses of the qualitative and quantitative data revealed significant differences between supervisors’ and students’ perceptions of all types (i.e., affective, cognitive, and behavioral) of student engagement. Significant disciplinary variations were also observed in supervisors’ and students’ perceptions of negative affect, cognitive engagement, and behavioral engagement. Furthermore, disciplinary background and feedback role interacted to shape perceptions of student engagement. These findings have implications for improving student engagement with supervisory feedback.
•102 master’s supervisors and 462 master’s students participated in this study.•We examined their perceptions of student engagement with supervisory feedback.•Students rated their feedback engagement markedly higher than supervisors did.•There were also significant variations in perceptions of engagement across disciplines.•Disciplinary background and feedback role jointly shaped the participants’ perceptions.
This article analyzes the use of Qur'anic interpretation in the theses of early childhood education students at the Pontianak State Islamic Institute. This attracted the attention of the author ...because many students misinterpreted the verses of the Qur'an in the context of the research carried out by students. The entire thesis studied by the author shows the absence of references and the views of the interpreters regarding the verses used in the study. Of course, this is not in accordance with Islamic education research standards. The research method used by the author is qualitative, with a literature research approach. Data collection is carried out by analyzing or tracing student theses using Quranic verses. The data analysis used by the author is an analysis of the content of primary data and secondary data studied at the Pontianak State Islamic Institute. The results obtained in this study show that early childhood education students at the Pontianak State Islamic Institute still make many mistakes in interpreting verses from the Qur'an both from book citations to technical interpretations of qur'anic verses
Introduction: The valorisation of thesis through its publication is necessary to enhance its visibility. Few data exist concerning the characteristics of theses defended at the Tunis faculty of ...medicine. Aim : Examine the publication rate of pediatric theses and identify factors associated with an increased publication rate. Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional descriptive bibliometric study of pediatric theses defended at the faculty of medicine of Tunis over a 15-year period, from 2006 to 2020. Theses were retrieved from the catalog of the faculty library. Publications had been searched in databases “Pub Med ", and “Google Scholar” until December2021.Results : The study involved 235 pediatric theses. Sixty-eight theses were published, representing 29% of the total. The main topics of published theses were neonatology (16%) and hematology (15%). The language of publication was French and English in 55% and 45% of cases, respectively. All publications in Q1 and Q2 journals were written in English. The only independent factor predicting publication of theses was the very honourable mention with congratulations of the jury and proposal for the thesis prize (p=0,007). Conclusion : Additional assessments will be necessary to identify the obstacles to the publication of theses.

La siguiente investigación tiene el propósito de analizar la importancia de los aportes conceptuales que enseña la epistemología para la producción del saber científico, al permitir unificar ...criterios, métodos y enfoques. Es un estudio bibliográfico, diacrónico desde el enfoque racionalista. Concluye que la amplitud de nociones consideradas por la disciplina filosófica sirve para organizar, presentar, difundir habilidades que suscitan la construcción de cuerpos conceptuales útiles al promover el bienestar de las comunidades. Consecuentemente, la tesis doctoral se considera un instrumento que consiente el discernimiento al estandarizar los procesos que validan las premisas. A su vez, admite la difusión de afirmaciones en favor de articular sociedades del conocimiento. Palabras clave: Epistemología; Saber Científico; Tesis Doctoral. The following investigation has the purpose of analyzing the importance of the conceptual contributions that epistemology teaches for the production of scientific knowledge, by allowing unifying criteria, methods and approaches. It is a bibliographic study, diachronic from the rationalist approach. It concludes that the breadth of notions considered by the philosophical discipline serves to organize, present, disseminate skills that give rise to the construction of conceptual bodies useful in promoting the well-being of communities. Consequently, the doctoral thesis is considered an instrument that allows discernment by standardizing the processes that validate the premises. At the same time, it admits the diffusion of affirmations in favor of articulating knowledge societies. Keywords: Epistemology; Scientific Knowledge; Doctoral Thesis.
