Das Thema "Überqualifizierung" wurde in jüngster Zeit häufig thematisiert, die sozio-ökonomischen Hintergründe der Überqualifizierung und ihre Auswirkungen auf das Einkommen sind noch nicht ...erforscht. In diesem Artikel wird die Frage des sozio- ökonomischen Hintergrundes thematisiert anhand von Erfahrungen mit diesem Phänomen in Griechenland und Daten über die Auswirkung auf den dortigen Arbeitsmarkt. Nach Schätzungen sind 16 % der Universitätsabsolventen überqualifitiert, die Unterschiede von Fach zu Fach sind aber erheblich. Die Zahl der Überqualifizierten aus niedrigeren Klassen ist hoch (54 %), das variiert allerdings nach Spezialisierung. Bei Universitätsabsolventen wird Überqualifizierung mit Gehaltseinbußen um 10 % "bestraft". Die negativen und statistisch bedeutsamen Auswirkungen betreffen diejenigen Fachrichtungen, die allgemeiner gehalten sind und nicht auf spezielle Berufsfelder ausgerichtet sind. (DIPF/Orig.)

Diese Frage wird im Folgenden am Beispiel von Freelancern in ausgewählten Kultur- und Medienberufen (Journalismus, Design und Softwareentwicklung) untersucht, die häufig als Vorreiter neuer Arbeits- und Lebensformen gelten. Es wird vermutet, dass sie keine strikten Trennungen zwischen Arbeit und Privatleben vornehmen und eher in Zweiverdiener-Partnerschaften als in einem traditionellen Familienernährer-Modell leben. Unsere empirischen Ergebnisse verweisen lediglich auf eine begrenzte Entgrenzung von Arbeit und Leben bei den untersuchten Gruppen. Selbst gesetzte Prioritäten und Grenzziehungen sowie Anforderungen, die sich aus dem Zusammenleben in einer Partnerschaft oder mit Kindern ergeben, stehen einer solchen Entgrenzung entgegen. Zugleich lässt sich eine Ausdifferenzierung partnerschaftlicher Geschlechterarrangements beobachten. Diese Entwicklungen beinhalten neue Chancen für eine Gleichstellung der Geschlechter. Sie sind aber für Mütter auch mit Ambivalenzen verknüpft, da von ihnen erwartet wird, dass sie eine individuelle Lösung für die Verknüpfung von freiberuflicher Tätigkeit und Kinderbetreuung finden.- Up to now, there has not been much empirical research concerning the question whether and how new forms of work coincide with changes in the patterns of work and private life as well as with changing gender arrangements in partnerships. The paper discusses these questions using empirical material from a study on freelancers in Germany's IT and media industry (journalists, designers, software developers), groups that are often considered as forerunners of new forms of work and life. It is supposed that for these groups, the boundaries between work and private life become blurred. Also, they may rather live in dual earner couples than in the traditional male breadwinner arrangement that is still prevalent in Germany. Contrary to expectations, our empirical findings show that most interviewees still draw a clear line between work and life. Living in a partnership and caring for small children prevent tendencies towards a de-limitation between the two. Referring to partnerships, our interview data indicate a diversification of gender arrangements, including tendencies towards more equal opportunities for men and women.
