The article deals with terminology from the field of pottery in the Prekmurje. This is a specialized terminology, which is vanishing from the active vocabulary of speakers due to the different way of ... life. Expressions for pottery and everything related to it stilI form a rich authentic Slavic substrate in Prekmurje, but the mid generation of speakers is quickly forgetting the old Slavic terminology, while the younger generation is not even acquainted with it. Terminology of foreign origin in the dialectal pottery terminology is mainly of Germanic and Romance origin, which demonstrates that the connection with the non-Indo-European Hungarian language- even though the regions Prekmurje and Porabje were part of the Kingdom of Hungary until the 11th century and were thus separated from other Slavic regions - had less impact on the Prekmurje dialect than the German language, through which also words from Romance languages were imported.
