    The masterʼs thesis presents the investigations of clad welding of polished surfaces of damaged machines made of W403 VMR material. The welding was carried out using the Nd:YAG laser and the filler ... material Dievar TIG Weld in order to achieve a high hardness of the cladding. We executed multi pass welding with or without an overlapping of the claddings. At overlapping, the deposit of the claddings was made in one as well as in several layers. The hardness measurements were carried out on the surface and in the depth of the claddings and of the heat-affected zone. We also analysed the microstructure at the points where the claddings and the heat-affected zone came together. The basic finding is that at clad welding by overlapping of previous claddings the hardness at the sides of the claddings is significantly decreased.
