From the environmental point of view the development of internal combustion engine (ICE) / vehicles in the past 60 years has been aimed towards lowering emissions of CO2, NOx, HC, particles etc., ... which pollute air (phase I). Due toglobal warming followed by climate changes and catastrophic consequences thedevelopment of motor vehicles has been in the so called phase II intensively dealing with lowering emissions of CO2 (greenhouse gasses) which are the product of burning fossil fuels in ICE. We show and analyse the results of processing of statistical data of the Slovenian rolling stock (1992-2003) CO2 with internal computer model REMODIO (Računanje Emisije Ogljikovega Dioksida). The research deals with relevant pointers, such as: CO2emission properties of fuel and vehicle, as well as mutual connection and dependence on the type of fuel, specific consumption (kg/km or kJ/km) of the way that the primary energy transforms into mechanical, on the relevant engineparameters of groups of personal vehicles divided according to the type of fuel, working volume and specific powers. We also show integral influences of environment (driver, traffic and infrastructure) on consumption and consequential CO2 emissions.
