  • A comparison of selected kinematical characteristics between successful attempts of elements Diamidov, Diamidov with 180° turn and Diamidov with 360° turn
    Marinšek, Miha, 1978- ; Kolar, Edvard, 1970-
The purpose of present assignment was to fmd out in which kinematical parameters do elements Diamidov (D1), Diamidov with 180° turn (D2) and Diamidov with 360° turn (D3, also named Pegan) ... differentiate in their execution. An international gymnast Aljaz Pegan, who performed successful attempt of each of the elements, represented a sample of measured subjects. Opinions of three expert international judges served as a criterion for the selection of elements. Analysis of kinematical parameters of movements was performed with a standard method, as required by the Ariel Performance Analysis System (APAS). 9 kinematical variables were compared, as they have a significant impact on the technical execution of elements. The results have shown that elements vary in the velocity of the body centre of gravity (BeG) in Z-axis during the segment of work, displacement of the body centre of gravity in V-axis at the end of the segment of work, displacement of the body centre of gravity in Z-axis in the segments of accumulation and work, the velocity of the right wrist at the end of the segment of work and the displacement of the body centre of gravity in Z-axis in the segment of execution. In comparison to D1 element, during the D2 and D3 elements measured subject moves the body centre of gravity 2 centimetres more to his right (opposite direction from the supporting arm) in the segment of accumulation, presses stronger with the right hand at the end of the segment of work (D3= 6.74m.s -1, D2= 6.28m.s -1, D1= 5.90m.s -1) and moves the body centre of gravity 3 centimetres more to his left in one-arm support. These differences permit the gymnast to have abetter starting point for the press with the right hand and consequent1y he can lean more to the left and achieve higher angular velocity of the system. As the gymnast has to execute more turns in D2 and D3 elements and has to lean more to the side, he needs to consider mentioned differences, in order to successfully perform elements D2 and D3. Only such execution will lead to successful conclusion.
