    Vovk, Ana ; Vrhovšek, Danijel
Based on an approach, developed in Slovenia, the International ERM Network was established by Ecoremediation (ERM) Network at International ERM Conference on 21st September 2007. It will pass on ... experiences and findings to other countries, especially those in Middle Europe and Balkan and it will facilitate establishment and networking of the e-ERM centres. The object of the project is to develop the e-ERM networking methodology and to enable activities of the local e-ERM centres. This project will promote exchange of the ERM knowledge between the researchers, economic partners, and different local organisations and will provide a sustainable of e-networking environment for mobility of ideas, new and traditional knowledge, economic interest. Therefore it will contribute to development and better quality of life in Middle European and Balkan countries, taking into account all three aspects of sustainability: sustainable environmental, economical and social. The project consists of three central parts: establishment of the "pool of ERM experts" and of ERM centres, including the database; interdisciplinary networking of e-ERM centres; implementation of e-ERM centres in the local and regional area, which will enable active participation of different target groups in finding solutions, and preventing environmental problems. For the networking of the e-ERM centres up-to-date IT solutions will be developed; including a structured database, search and updating tools, web portal and dissemination tools as well as the required e-content for research, education, dissemination and application of ecoremediation. Benefit for the participating regions, countries and the EU: the partners will have access to the database of e-ERM centres; they will be able to use the tool under real life conditions and will be able to contribute to the improvement process for practical activities in the environmental fields.
