  • Azot kao činilac obrazovanja lisne površine, prinosa zrna i iznošenja hraniva (N, P, K) ukupnim nadzemnim prinosom kukuruza (Zea mays L.) = Nitrogen as a factor for forming leaf area, grain yield and nutrient uptake (N, P, K) in total aboveground yield of maize (Zea mays L.)
    Bavec, Franc
The aim of this research was to develop a simple empirical model for predicting leaf area index (LAI), grain yields and nutrient uptake by aboveground plant matter as a function for soil N-min ... content and nitrogen fertilising rate (0 to 300 kg per ha), including the specific factors (four hybrids, specific region for FAO groups to 400 - Maribor, 460 34N and 150 38E). The increased nitrogen fertilising rate increases differences between LAI at the stage of tasseling from 0,2 to 1,4 and waxy maturity 0.3 to 1.2 independently of N-min content in the soil (more than 175-505 kg to about 75 kg N per ha before sowing and more than 327 - 481 to about 235 kg N min per haat the stage of 7-9 leaves). The effects of nitrogen fertilising rates on grain yields was small (R2: 0.15-0.19), but soil N-min before sowing affected the grain yield to a great extent (R2: 0.4-0.63); at the stage of 7-9 leaves the effect of soil N-min was even greater (R2: 0.55-0.82). Approximately 75 kg N-min per ha before sowing or 253-256 kg N-mi8n per ha at stage of 7-9 leaves increased grain yield if up to 150 kg N per ha was added, according to the square regression curve. The curve maximums were at 325 N min and added N par ha , but in case of values higher than 225 kg per ha the grain yields weren't significant, which means that it is necessary to add 75 kg N per ha before sowing and 75 N per ha at the stage of 7-9 leaves. The nitrogen rate of up to 75 kg N per la (but not more) affected the grain yield if in the soil up tp 0.9 m depth thre was more than 175 (up to 505) kg N min per ha before sowing. The rate of 300 kg N per ha (but not more) affected the grain yield if the soil there was not more than 327 kg (up to 481) N min per ha at the stage of 7-9 leaves. The effect of increased nitrogen rates resulted in the increased nutrient uptake by aboveground plant mass (from 159 to 225 kg N per ha and K from 99 to 134 K per ha), but the differences between the accumulatedP (33-49 kg P per ha) weren't significant.
