    The area of intelligent systems is one of the most successful areas of interest in the field of artificial intelligence. According to the E. Feigenbaum's definition, is an intelligent system a system ... (program) [1] that uses knowledge and inference procedures to solve problems. in such a system a database is very important part. In software engineering reuse has been practiced almost since the first programs were written. It has been considered as a means for overcoming the software crisis. Although it was never restricted only to the source code, it was mainly confined to that area. Reuse offers also a great potential for improving software development and quality. Howewer, for improving quality of the final software product a software prototyping is also very approach. It helps customers to understand and criticize proposed systems and to explore teh new possibilities that computer solutions can bring. For the database environment the mentioned approaches are of a great imporatnce. Unfortunately, there is almost no literature on these problems, projects are small and not very well known. One of projects which focuses on database reuse is our MetaBase repository. It enables reuse of conceptual database models in the actual database design. Considering the MetaBase as well as the fact that the software reuse is essential for rapid software prototyping, the introduction of rapid database prototyping, useful for any system and also for the intelligent system, is the main goal of this paper.
