  • Optimal location for the wi-fi transmitter in the city of Celje

    Today it is almost impossible that modern cities and their most visited locations do not possess free wireless internet network (hereinafter Wi-Fi network). City of Celje has access to such a ... network, but due to improper location of the Wi-Fi transmitter, it is not working optimally. In the present study we want to find the optimal location of the Wi-Fi transmitter that will cover as many users as possible. The case study considers five most visited locations within city that will be included in the calculation of optimal location for the new Wi-Fi transmitter. We compare the results of two direct multidimensional methods (Hook-Jeeves pattern search method and Nelder-Mead simplex method) and provide costs estimation of using old and new Wi-Fi transmitter location.
