  • Cavitation swirl pulsation at the radial pump entrance pipe
Predin, Andrej, 1961- ; Biluš, Ignacijo ; Klasinc, Roman
Analyses are given of the driving mechnaism and pressure pulsations concerning with the cavitation swirl in the entrance pipe of radial pump. Cavitation swirl appearance is a result of complicated ... secondary flow interaction, which appears as a consequence of the pump operating at small, bellow-optimal operating capacities at the cavitation-operating regime. Results are shown for the carried out and performed flow pressure pulsation measurements in the entrance pipe of the radial pump. These measurements were performed at different distances (measuring points) from the impeller eye, in the upstream direction at the closed cavitation measuring test ring, during pump operating at different impeller speeds and at different values of gas (air) pressure over the lower liquid (water) position. The results are also given of the frequency analyses of the measured flow pressure.
