  • The studies of phenolformaldehyde resin crosslinking mechanisms by chromatographic and spectroscopic methods [Elektronski vir]
    Skale Kos, Mateja ...
One important quality feature of phenolformaldehyde resins is their rate of condensation. If the rate is too high, resin bonding does not work well. Such quality failure results not only in economic ... loss but it has considerable effect on the environment, as phenol and formaldehyde monomers are dangerous waste. The input control endeavours to minimize the damage by using suitable analytic methods to ensure the quality of resins and their rate of condensation. The instrumental analytical methods that were used in our research (IR spectroscopy and GPC) are insufficient in obtaining the data therefore they must be used together with other parametric measurements. The storage of resin and the temperature are two most influential factors as far as usefulness of resins is concerned.
