  • Influence of the mercerization on the crosslinking degree of cotton cellulose crosslinked with BTCA [Elektronski vir]
    Šauperl, Olivera ...
Polycarboxylic acids appear as the most promising nonformaldehyde crosslinking agents to replace the traditional, mostly formaldehyde-based compounds. Among these acids the most effective one is ... 1,2,3,4, Butanetetracarboxylic acid (BTCA). In this study, a comparison of sorption properties effect on mercerized as much as unmercerized and with different mass fractions of BTCA crosslinked cotton fibres was made using tensiometry and water retention determination. The purpose of this research was mainly to evaluate how the structural changes of mercerized cotton influence the crosslinking degree of the cellulose fibres crosslinked with different BTCA mass fractions in the impregnation bath.
