    The synthesis for the production of long chain fatty acid esters, very useful organic compounds, by enzymatic reactions in SC CO2 was investigated. The screening and optimization of various reaction ... conditions were developed. The direct esterification of oleic acid and 1-octanol was performed at various pressures up to 30 MPa modulating the temperature in the range between 35 :- 100 °C. The ester content was quantified by calculating the residual fatty acid in the reaction mixture. The reaction rate and acid conversion were determined. The investigation on the catalytic behaviour of the immobilized enzyme showed a high synthetic activity and selectivity (>99.0 %) in SC-CO2. N-octyl oleate was successfully synthetisized by enzymatic catalysis in SC-CO2.
