    The main challenges that the European Union is strategically addressing include the growing population in urban areas and the related pollution and congestion, the development of environmentally ... friendly and efficient means of transport for passengers and goods, sustainable urban management, etc. Various mechanisms, developed by the European Commission are actively working towards positive change in European cities; and the EIT Urban Mobility is one of them. One of the main objectives of this Knowledge Innovation Community (KIC) is to actively support and network integration of the knowledge triangle (research, academia, industry) with cities to deploy more sustainable urban services and solutions in the mobility sector. EIT Urban Mobility RIS Hub Slovenia supports start-ups, industry and research entities in the field of urban mobility in order to be more competitive in the tenders as well as to strengthen the local innovation ecosystem. Furthermore, RIS Hub Slovenia organises various activities (e.g. hackathon, citython, national conference) in order to network between different stakeholders (municipalities, ministries, NGOs) and to raise awareness about specific urban mobility challenges. As part of the European Year of Youth 2022, RIS Hub Slovenia is also promoting active engagement and participation of young people to create a greener, digital and better future.
