The complexity of contemporary sites and situations requires architects' design skills to exceed the single object and to expertly negotiate between competing forces at both a global and local level. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the city, where a multitude of tensions and scales must be played out. Barcelona‐based architect and author Manuel Gausa locates in the work of Nàbito Arquitectura the ability to develop ‘real connective landscapes’, as explicitly expressed in their scheme for the Poljane area of Ljubljana.
