This paper describes the synthesis of reactor/separator networks by the combined MINLP/analysis approach. The approach consists of an alternating sequence of MINLP and analysis steps. The analysis ...step is performed in a modified attainable region (AR) simultaneously for the reaction and separation. Reaction/separation efficiency curves based on economic assessment are proposed for the separation part which suggests possible midifications of the superstructure. The superstructure thus becomes richer and also more compact, which has an important potential for gaining a higher economic benefit in the next MINLP step.
