The development and promotion of tourism on farms in Slovenia

Tourism on farms in Slovenia is one of the specific forms of rural tourism. It is defined as a supplementary activity of farm families aimed especially at farm women to gain their economic ...independence and social security. The authors discuss the aims, the prerequisites as well as the partnership for the development and the promotion of this kind of rural tourism. While the efficiency of the tourism on farms depends predominantly on internal factors (the quality of rooms, food and services), its success is also defined by partnerships among the parties involved, covering their vertical and horizontal relations on the one hand, and formal and informal ones on the other. The theoretically elaborated partnerships are illustrated by the situation in Slovenia.
