    For the measurement and computer simulation a number of typical products of grey cast iron were selected, weighing 14 to 14 kg. With all these castings, the temperature field was measured by ... thermocouples and internal stresses were measured by the strain gauge method (modifield bore hole method). Some of the casting measured were exposed to annnealing to remove internal stresses, some were exposed to vibration or to vibration plus annealing. For these casting an optimum regime of releasing these casting from mould was established with the aim of obtaining a minimum level of internal stresses in the temperature interval around the eutectoid transformation of after reaching the temperatures of predominantly elastic deformations below 380 oC. Results of both experimental measurement and computer simulation using the SIMTEC program show agreement in minimum internal stresses when the recommended method of releasing casting from mould was used in the production.When starting the production of a new article (casting) simulation allows us to choose the pace of casting coolong with the aim of minimizing stresses and optimizing the structure.
