Influence of the temperature field on the roll shell at the continous casting of the aluminium strips

The main topic of our work is an investigation of the influence of the temperature field, on the steel shell, in the roll of the working roll at the combined continous casting-rolling process. The ...periodic variation of the temperature distribution on the working roll surface was measured on working rolls in aluminium production factory Talum, Kidričevo, Slovenia in contribution with firma Lauener Engineering from Swiss. The material of the roll shell is domestic 32 CrMo12 steel, produced in Metala, Ravne. In the work are also presented mechanical and thermical properties of this steel as a functions of the temperature.
It was not necessary to add the material to the shelf.
