The current study aimed to explore the effects of interactive read-aloud with children's picture books on third-grade elementary school students' financial literacy attitude and behavior. A ...pretest-posttest control group quasi-experimental research design was employed. The sample of the current research consisted of 46 third-grade elementary school students. We randomly assigned two preexisting third-grade elementary school classrooms to the treatment and control groups that appeared similar considering the pretest scores of the groups. While interactive read-aloud was used in the treatment group, just reading read-aloud activities occurred in the control group. The implementation process took four weeks. Before and after the implementation, the measurement tool was administered to the students in the groups. A one-way analysis of covariance was used for the posttest scores of the students in the groups. The analysis revealed that there was a statistically significant difference in favor of the treatment group.
Yapılan araştırmanın amacı pandemi nedeniyle uzaktan eğitime geçilmesi ve bu süreçte eğitim sistemine yeni dahil olan öğrencilere ilk defa uzaktan eğitim süreci ile okuma-yazma öğretimi yapan ...öğretmenlerin sürece yönelik görüşlerini ortaya koymaktır. Çalışma nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması deseni ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmanın araştırma grubunu 2020-2021 eğitim öğretim yılında 1. sınıf okutmuş, 4 farklı ilde görev yapan 5 sınıf öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmanın verileri odak grup görüşmesi ve form aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Toplanan veriler betimsel analiz tekniği ile çözümlenmiş; ilk deneyimler, kullanılan yöntemler ve sürecin yürütülme şekli, kullanılan materyaller, ölçme değerlendirme, karşılaşılan sorunlar, öz değerlendirme süreci ve görüşler olmak üzere 7 başlık altında toplanmıştır. Çalışmanın sonucunda, veli-öğretmen iletişiminin önemli bir yere sahip olduğu, ters-yüz sınıf modelinin başarılı sonuçlar verdiği, özellikle birleştirilmiş sınıflarda teknolojik yetersizliklerin daha fazla olduğu ve genellikle web 2.0 araçlarının kullanıldığı görülmüştür.
The aim of this study is to put forth the views of teachers who have been teaching reading and writing to students, that are included in the education system for the first time, with distance education process due to the transition to distance education. In the study, the case study method, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was adopted. The research group of the study consists of 5 classroom teachers who taught first grades in the 2020-2021 academic year and worked in different cities. The data of the study were collected through focus group interview and a form. The collected data were analyzed with descriptive analysis technique and categorized under 7 title: first experiences, methods used and the way the process was carried out, materials used, measure mentan devaluation, problems encountered, self-evaluation process and suggestions. As a result of the study, it was seen that parent-teacher communication is crucial, the flipped classroom model gives successful results, the rare technological inadequacy esespecially in multigrade classrooms and web 2.0 tool sare frequently used.
This study aimed to determine the perceptions of teacher candidates and to use the literature circles method to help them to develop a positive attitude towards the profession. Given that the study ...of literature circles in the national literature is only for a specific area, this study is the first study in which the literature circles are used for a different purpose. The research was carried out with eight teacher candidates who were studying in two different undergraduate programs of a public university in the spring term of the 2018-2019 academic year. Participants were selected by using convenience sampling and purposeful sampling methods. In the study, which was formed by selecting the case study from qualitative research designs, data were analyzed by the content analysis method. Findings from the books and sessions performed within the literature circles show that the process has a positive effect on the teacher candidates’ perspectives.

To this end, reading status of a group of students was assessed with formative ...assessment methods, while that of another group was evaluated with traditional ones. The research was carried out by using unequalised quasi-experimental design. The experimental and control groups of the research were randomly assigned. The study group consisted of 50 3rd grade students of a primary school in the Dilovası district of Kocaeli city, Türkiye. The data of the study were obtained from the texts within 3rd grade curriculum and from the comprehension questions prepared for these texts. The data were analyzed via SPSS 22 program. Mann-Whitney and Wilcoxon signed rank tests were used during analyses. In the findings of the research, a highly significant difference was observed in favor of the experimental group. As a result of the findings of the research, it was observed that formative assessment methods contributed to reading comprehension success positively.

Masal anlatımının prozodik konuşma becerisine etkisini inceleyen bu çalışma nicel
araştırma desenlerinden ön-test, son-test kontrol deney gruplu deneysel desen
şeklinde tasarlanmıştır. Çalışma grubu ...amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden kolay
ulaşılabilir durum örneklemiyle belirlenmiştir. Çalışma grubunu Kocaeli ilinde
bir devlet okulunda öğrenim gören 42 ilkokul öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Veriler
öğrencilerin hikâye kartlarından masal oluşturmaları esnasında ses kaydı alınarak
toplanmış, sonrasında Konuşma Prozodisi ölçeğiyle puanlanarak SPSS programında
analiz edilmiştir. Uygulama sürecinde deney grubu katılımcılarına 3 farklı masal
anlatım tekniği kullanılarak toplam 23 masal anlatılmıştır. Sonuç olarak deney grubu
öğrencilerinin konuşma becerileri ön-test ve son-testleri arasında yüksek düzeyde
anlamlı farklılaşma yaşandığı görülmüştür.
Bu araştırma, sınıf öğretmenlerinin çocuk edebiyatına yönelik tutumlarını ortaya koymak için tasarlanmıştır. Araştırma, 268 kadın 132 erkek olmak üzere 400 sınıf öğretmeni ile birlikte yürütülmüştür. ...Çalışma grubu, salgın sürecinde araştırmanın gerçekleştirilebilmesi adına kolay ulaşılabilir durum örneklemiyle belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın verileri Karagül (2020) tarafından geliştirilen “Çocuk Edebiyatına Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği” ile toplanmıştır. Ölçek, salgın sürecinde sınıf öğretmenlerine ulaştırabilmek için dijital ortam için yeniden tasarlanmıştır. Mevcut anket formu sosyal medya araçları kullanılarak sınıf öğretmenlerinin yer aldığı gruplarda paylaşılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri, gönüllü sınıf öğretmenlerinin katılımıyla altı günlük süre içerisinde toplanmıştır. Veriler SPSS programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Veri analizi sürecinde Mann Withney U testi ve Kruskal Wallis testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda sınıf öğretmenlerinin çocuk edebiyatına yönelik tutumlarının yüksek olduğu, cinsiyet değişkeninin sınıf öğretmenlerinin çocuk edebiyatına yönelik tutumlarını etkilediği, öğrenim düzeyi ve meslekî kıdeme göre öğretmenlerin çocuk edebiyatına yönelik tutumlarının değişmediği ortaya çıkmıştır.
This research aimed to reveal classroom teachers' attitudes towards children's literature. The research was carried out with 400 classroom teachers, 268 females and 132 males. The sample of the research was determined by using convenience sampling technique due to Covid-19 outbreak. The data of the study were collected using the "Attitude Scale towards Children's Literature" developed by Karagül (2020). The scale was redesigned via digital forms in order to deliver it to classroom teachers during the pandemic process. The scale was shared in groups of classroom teachers using social media tools. The data of the study were collected in 6 days with the participation of volunteer classroom teachers. The data were analyzed using the SPSS program. Mann Withney U test and Kruskal Wallis test were used in the data analysis process. As a result of the study, it was revealed that classroom teachers' attitudes towards children's literature are high, and the classroom teachers’ attitudes towards children’s literature varied by their gender
In the current research, we aimed to explore the relations between reading comprehension and reading fluency and their connections with each other as an indicator and a predictor. For this overall ...aim, a total of 100 students from the seventh-grade level were enrolled. This research took place in fall semester, 2015, in Turkey’s Denizli province. The participants from all grade levels were willing and available to take part in the present study. Informed consent letters were obtained from all of the participants and their parents or guardians. The participants were relatively homogenous and of middle socioeconomic (SES) status. They ranged in age from 13 through 15 years. For the measures of fluency, components were taken from students’ oral reading of the same texts including narrative and expository according to grade levels. After then, the students’ reading comprehension levels were assessed. Every comprehension test for the grade levels included a narrative text and an expository text, and 12 questions were prepared for every text, six of which were literal and another five of which were inferential. The path analyses were used to identify the relations between reading fluency and reading comprehension. According to the results of the research, some recommendations were given.

araştırma desenlerinden ...tek gruplu yarı deneysel desen olarak tasarlanmıştır.
Çalışma grubu amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden kolay ulaşılabilir örneklem
yöntemiyle belirlenmiş, bir devlet üniversitesinde öğrenim gören 68 sınıf
öğretmeni adayından oluşmaktadır. Uygulama süreci 3 aşamada
gerçekleştirilmiştir. Her aşamanın başlangıcında ısınma çalışmalarına yer
verilip ilk aşamada masalın genel özellikleri ve eğitimdeki kullanım yerlerine
değinilmiş, ikinci aşamada farklı yazarlar tarafından oluşturulmuş masallar örnek
olarak incelenmiş, aynı masalın farklı bakış açılarıyla nasıl ele alındığı
hakkında konuşulup katılımcı görüşleri alınarak oturum sonlandırılmıştır. Son
aşamada drama çalışmaları ile masal çalışmaları birlikte ele alınmış ve sınıf
öğretmeni adaylarından özgün masallar yazmaları istenmiştir. Araştırmanın
verileri katılımcıların kendi yazdıkları masallardan oluşmaktadır. Veriler 9
kategoriden oluşan değerlendirme formu yardımıyla analiz edilmiştir. Sonuç
olarak sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının masal hakkında teorik olarak bilgi sahibi
olsalar da uygulama aşamasında yazdıkları masalların yeterli özgünlüğe
ulaşamadığı görülmüştür.
The aim of this
study is to examine the tales written by the primary school teacher candidates
by using constructionist writing and drama and story building methods. The
study was designed as a one-sample quasi-experimental design of quantitative
research patterns. The study group was defined through convenience sampling of
purposeful sampling methods and it comprises 68 primary teacher candidates studying
in a state university. The application process was carried out in 3 stages. At
the beginning of each stage, warm-ups took place. The general characteristics
of the tale and the places of use in education were mentioned at the first
stage. At the second stage, tales, set up by different authors, were examined
as examples and discussions were held on how a same tale were handled from
different perspectives and the session were finished by acquiring the views of
the participants. At the last stage, the drama and the tale studies were examined
together and the primary school teacher candidates were asked to write original
tales. The data of the research consisted of tales of the participants. The
data were analyzed with the evaluation form consisting of 9 categories. As a result,
although the primary school teacher candidates had theoretical knowledge about
tale, it was conferred that the tales they wrote during the application stage
did not reach enough originality.
Bu araştırmada okuma çemberinin ilkokul dördüncü sınıf öğrencilerinin okuma motivasyonlarına olan etkisi ele alınmıştır. Mevcut araştırmada nitel araştırma desenlerinden eylem araştırması ...kullanılmıştır. Araştırma, 2019-2020 eğitim öğretim yılında Şanlıurfa ilindeki Eyyübiye ilçesinin bir devlet ilkokulunda gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu dördüncü sınıfa devam eden 5 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma süreci toplamda 12 haftada tamamlanırken bu süre zarfında öğrencilerle 6 okuma çemberi oturumu yapılmıştır. Okuma çemberi oturumlarının tamamı video kaydına alınmıştır. Ayrıca okuma çemberi oturumlarında araştırmacı tarafından çeşitli gözlem notları da tutulmuştur. Araştırmanın nicel verileri Okuma Motivasyonu Ölçeği’nden, nitel verileri yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmelerden, video kayıtlarından ve araştırmacının gözlem notlarından oluşturulmuştur. Araştırma kapsamında yapılan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmelerden elde edilen verilerin çözümlenmesi ve sunulmasında betimsel analiz yönteminden faydalanılmıştır. Nicel veri elde etmek amacıyla kullanılan Okuma Motivasyonu Ölçeği’ne verilen cevaplar, Wilcoxon İşaretli Sıralar Testi aracılığıyla analiz edilerek anlamlılık değeri p .043<.05 olarak bulunmuştur. Araştırmacı notları ve okuma çemberi oturumlarının video kayıtlarına bakıldığında ise yöntemin, katılımcıların okuma motivasyonlarına olumlu etkileri olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Hem görüşme formuna hem de araştırmacı gözlem notlarına bakıldığında katılımcıların rolleri içselleştirdiği ve kendileri ile okudukları kitaplar arasında bir bağ kurmaya başladıkları görülebilir. Ayrıca katılımcılar, yöntemini oldukça işlevsel, eğlenceli ve faydalı bulduklarını ve bu sayede okumaya olan ilgilerinin arttığını da dile getirmişlerdir.
