In this paper, we describe a semi-automatic viewpoint moving system that employs a drone to provide visual assistance to the operator of a teleoperated robot. The objective of this system is to ...improve the operational efficiency and reduce the mental load of the operator. The operator changes the position of the drone through an interface to acquire the optimal assist image for teleoperation. We confirmed through an evaluation experiment that, in comparison with our previous study in which the final positions of the drone were determined in advance, the proposed method improves the operational accuracy and reduces the mental load of the operator.
The purpose of this research is to develop a VR simulator that can safely train wheelie, which is a stepping technique for manual wheelchair users. The equation of motion of the wheelchair was shown, ...and the actual wheelchair motion was compared with the simulation results. A wheelchair simulator that moves using this equation of motion was constructed. The effectiveness of the simulator in wheelie training was evaluated by experiments. In the experiment, 20 subjects were divided into two groups of 10 subjects, and one group trained using a wheelchair simulator and did not practice the other group. After that, Subjects tried wheelie in a real wheelchair and we calculated the success rates. As a result, the average success rate of the group using the wheelchair simulator increased by about 48 points compared to the unused group. From the results, it was shown that the simulator developed in this study is effective for learning the wheelie motion.
A teleoperation system for a construction robot works effectively in a hazardous environment. However, it has problems with work precision and mental workload. In this study, a moving visual support ...system using a drone is developed to solve these operability problems. The usability of the system is confirmed through a subjective experiment.
This paper describes the techniques to reducing VR sickness for wheelchair simulator. The aim of this research is to reduce the VR sickness in the wheelchair simulator, which is caused by the yaw ...rotation. To reduce the VR sickness, we propose two methods to reducing VR sickness, which are a reference grid frame and a translucent black outer frame. The two frames are displayed fixed to the movement of the head. The comparative experiment was performed to verify the effectiveness and interaction of the proposed methods. The experimental results are statistically analyzed, the analysis finds interaction for the two proposed methods.

In this research, we focus on a power assist system in which the operating part is gloved. In this system, the force sensor attached to the operation part of the glove is used as an input interface ...to assist the operating force. However, it is necessary to get used to the operation of inputting the sensor while gripping the object. Therefore, when the input to the sensor is insufficient, the assist may not be sufficiently received in some cases. Therefore, in this study, we investigated the optimum sensor position for easily realizing the intended motion with the subject experiment for the lifting / descending operation while grasping the work target.
In this research, we deal with a robot arm type electric power assist system used in factories and others. In the conventional electric power assist system, automatic control is performed for ...assisting the vertical movement, but automatic control is not performed for the turning operation. Therefore, in this research, we have constructed a system that senses the operator's force input to the force sensor of the operation lever and performs power assist to the operator. In this paper, we evaluate how much the physical and mental burden of workers has been alleviated by using a power assist system equipped with automatic controlled turning assist / brake function. We compare the results and discuss the effectiveness of the power assist system with the swing assist / brake function.
Standing assist chairs to assist rising to a standing position have been researched and developed, and several products are now commercially available.Unfortunately, they cannot be said to be ...entirely successful. One reason is that the standing assist chair has been developed from an exclusively manufacturing perspective-the engineering point of view-and often little research and development based on the user's perspective-the biomedical point of view-has been implemented. It is thought that the elderly show several features that are different from the young during rising to a standing position as a result of the physiological deterioration of their physical functions. Nevertheless, the motion properties of the elderly are only empirically known at nursing care sites. Investigations from the biomedical point of view have not yet been thoroughly conducted. This study aims to analyze the features seen in the elderly while rising to a standing position from the biomedical perspective, and to determine by experiment what form of assistance is the most appropriate for obtaining parameters for manufacturing a standing assist device.
To clarify the movement of the standing up assistance chair and correspondence with the sense side of the user in this research, it considered it based on the result of the senses examination ...experiment. As a result, in the superiority or inferiority judgment of the influence that the movement pattern on the seat with the difference exerted on the person, there was a common criterion to the person, and it was guessed that it was an anxiety. Next, to examine the relation between the movement orbit on the seat and the user's posture change, the operation measurement experiment was done. Based on those results, the relation with rise on the seat and user's psychological senses was considered. Result, to decrease the anxiety according to the movement on the seat, the suggestion that it was important to reduce the change of the angle of the knee, and to reduce the spine curve angle change, and to support the body by the area with a wide seat, and to support a lot of weight by the seat, and to slow down the movement of the seat load center was obtained.
