The purpose of the paper is to identify and locate some species related to habitats from Pricop-Huta-Certeze and Upper Tisa Natura 2000 Protected Areas (PHCTS) and to determine if they are vulnerable ...to risks induced by maximum flow phases. In the first chapter are mentioned few references about the morphometric parameters of the hydrographic networks within the study area, as well as some references related to the maximum flow phases frequency. After the second chapter, where methods and databases used in the study are described, we proceed to the identification of the areas that are covered by water during flood, as well as determining the risk level related to these areas. The GIS modeling reveals small extent of the flood high risk for natural environment related to protected areas and greater extent for the anthropic environment. The last chapter refers to several species of fish and batrachia, as well as to those amphibious mammals identified in the study area that are vulnerable to floods (high turbidity effect, reduction of dissolved oxygen quantity, habitats destruction etc.).
Cosmogenic nuclide surface exposure ages have been widely used to constrain glacial chronologies in the European regions. This paper brings new evidence that the Romanian Carpathians sheltered ...mountain glaciers in their upper valleys and cirques until the end of the last glaciation. Twenty-four 10Be surface exposure ages were obtained from boulders on moraine crests in the central area of the Parâng Mountains, Southern Carpathians. Exposure ages were used to constrain the timing of the deglaciation events during the Late Glacial. The lowest boulders yielded an age of 13.0 ± 1.1 (1766 m) and final deglaciation occurred at 10.2 ± 0.9 ka (2055 m). Timing of the Late Glacial events and complete deglaciation reported in this study are consistent with, and confirm, previously reported ages of deglaciation within the Carpathian and surrounding European region.

Deforestations between 1972 and 2010 were analyzed and mapped. GIS instruments have been used in order to identify the changes in the spatial structure of landscape units induced by deforestation (changes in land parcels shape, number, edge etc.) by the help of some relevant landscape metrics indices. Results are discussed in relation to the protection status of the area (included in the Nature 2000 ecological network) and its conservation objectives.
