yapı geçerliliğini incelemek için açımlayıcı faktör analizi, doğrulayıcı faktör analizi kullanılmıştır. Güvenilirlik
iç tutarlılık ve test-tekrar test yöntemleriyle değerlendirilmiştir. Sosyal medya bağımlılığı ile anksiyete ve depresyon
belirtileri arasında ilişkiler korelasyon ve regresyon analiziyle incelenmiştir. Bulgular: Açımlayıcı faktör analizinde
özgün ölçekte olduğu gibi tek boyutlu bir yapıda olduğu görülmüştür. Doğrulayıcı faktör analizi sonuçları tek
boyutlu yapının kabul edilebilir uyum verdiğini göstermiştir. Ölçüt bağıntılı geçerlilik çalışmasında ölçeğin İnternet
Bağımlılığı Ölçeği ile pozitif korelasyon gösterdiği bulunmuştur. Ölçeğin iç tutarlılık güvenilirlik katsayısı kabul
edilebilir düzeyde bulunmuştur. Test-tekrar test güvenilirlik katsayısının yeterli düzeyde olduğu görülmüştür. Sosyal
medya bağımlılığının anksiyete ve depresyon belirtilerini düşük düzeyde pozitif yönde yordadığı bulunmuştur.
Sonuç: Bu araştırmanın bulgularına göre Bergen Sosyal Medya Bağımlılığı Ölçeğinin Türkiye’de yapılacak çalışmalarda
kullanılabileceği söylenebilir. Sosyal medya bağımlılığının artmasının anksiyete ve depresyon belirtilerin
artırabileceği için önleyici çalışmalar yapılması önerilmiştir. (Anadolu Psikiyatri Derg 2019; 20(Ek sayı.1):15-22)
The objective of this study was to evaluate the association between school engagement, well-being, hope, and social competence. Participants consisted of 322 secondary school students in Turkey 172 ...females (53.4%) and 150 males (46.6%). The participants’ ages ranged from 11 to 15. Data were collected via School Engagement Scale, Mental Health Continuum-Short Form, Children’s Hope Scale, and Perceived Social Competence Scale. The relations between variables were examined by structural equation modelling and bootstrapping procedure. The structural equation modelling indicated that hope and social competence fully mediate the association between school engagement and well-being. The results of the bootstrapping analysis confirmed the significance of indirect effects. The result of the study has provided an understanding of the psychosocial factors that may contribute to school engagement and well-being. It is considered that the results of this study will contribute to the literature on positive psychology and educational psychology. Result, implications and limitations were discussed.
Convex and concave inclined surfaces are frequently encountered in the machining of components in industries such as aerospace, aircraft, automotive, biomedical, and precision machinery manufacturing ...and mold industries. Tool path styles, generated by different cutting strategies, result in various cutting forces and tool deflection values that might lead to poor surface integrities. In cost-effective manufacturing, it is helpful to make known their effects on machinability. Thus, the first aim of this study is to investigate optimum cutting parameter values in ball end milling of EN X40CrMoV5-1 tool steel with three coated cutters. The parameters taken into consideration are cutting speed, feed rate, step over, and tool path style. The second aim of the study is to determine the effects of tool path styles in ball end milling of inclined surfaces. As a result, the most effective parameter within the selected cutting parameters and cutting styles for both inclined surfaces and different coatings was step over. In terms of tool coatings, the most rapidly deteriorating coating was TiC coating for cutting forces in both inclined surfaces and for tool deflection in convex inclined surface. In addition, the response surface methodology is employed to predict surface roughness values, depending on the cutting forces obtained. The model generated gives highly accurate results.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships among family harmony, interdependent happiness, harmony in life, and flourishing. The participants consist of 390 university students and ...employees in Turkey. Participants’ ages range from 18 to 58 years. Data have been collected using the Family Harmony Scale, Interdependent Happiness Scale, Harmony in Life Scale, and Flourishing Scale. The relationships among the scales have been examined using a structural equation model and the bootstrap method. According to the results of the correlation analysis, there were significant positive relationships among family harmony, interdependent happiness, harmony in life, and flourishing. The structural equation model indicated that an increase in family harmony increases interdependent happiness and harmony in life, and an increase in interdependent happiness and harmony in life increases flourishing. The results of the bootstrap analysis confirm the significance of the standardized estimates. The study results reveal understanding family harmony to be able to enhance flourishing due to interdependent happiness and harmony in life. The results, implications, and limitations are discussed.
This study aimed to investigate the triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index, which is a simple surrogate marker of insulin resistance that is associated with various cardiometabolic diseases, in patients ...with Klinefelter syndrome (KS).
A total of 30 patients with KS (mean age: 21.53 ± 1.66 years) and 32 healthy controls (mean age: 22.07 ± 1.01 years) were included in the study. The clinical and laboratory parameters, TyG index, asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) level, homeostatic model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) score, and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein level were measured in patients with KS and healthy subjects.
Patients with KS had higher HOMA-IR score (p = 0.043), ADMA levels (p < 0.001), and TyG index (p = 0.031) and lower high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels (p < 0.001) than healthy subjects. TyG index was positively correlated with plasma ADMA (r = 0.48, p < 0.001) and HOMA-IR (r = 0.36, p = 0.011). Multivariate analyses showed that total testosterone level (β = -0.44, p = 0.001) and TyG index (β = 0.29, p = 0.045) were independent determinants of plasma ADMA levels.
Patients with KS had higher TyG indices than healthy subjects. Moreover, TyG index was independently associated with endothelial dysfunction in patients. TyG index may be a practical and useful measure to show the increased endothelial dysfunction in patients with KS.
This study aimed to investigate the frequency of sexual dysfunction and the effect of short-term testosterone replacement therapy on sexual functions in congenital hypogonadism patients. The study was conducted on 47 young male patients aged above 18 years who were diagnosed with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism. Short (IIEF-5) and long (IIEF-15) forms of the International Index of Erectile Function and Arizona Sexual Experiences Scale (ASEX) were applied before treatment under the supervision of a physician. The patients' blood pressure, height, and weight were measured, and their luteinizing hormone (LH), FSH, and total testosterone levels were recorded. Patients who started their treatments were called for a follow-up checkup after 6 months. Their blood pressure, height, and weight were measured by reapplying the ASEX, IIEF-5, and IIEF-15. In addition, their LH, FSH, and total testosterone levels in the biochemical tests were rerecorded.
In this study, the sexual dysfunction status of patients diagnosed with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism before and after treatment was evaluated using the ASEX, IIEF-15, and IIEF-5 scales. A decrease in sexual dysfunction was observed in all three scales after treatment compared with that before treatment. The IIEF-5 and IIEF-15 scales were found to be uncorrelated in terms of the pretreatment values but were correlated in terms of the post-treatment values. Although a correlation was observed between ASEX and IIEF- 5 before treatment, no correlation was detected between ASEX and IIEF-15. After the treatment, ASEX was found to be correlated with both IIEF-5 and IIEF-15. The results of the scales indicated the correlation in all categories, except the pretreatment results of the IIEF-15 scale.
The results of the current study demonstrated a significant improvement in the sexual function of hypogonadism patients undergoing short-term testosterone therapy. The ASEX, IIEF-5, and IIEF-15 scales used in the diagnosis and follow-up of sexual dysfunction were useful for evaluating sexual functions in hypogonadotropic hypogonadism patients.

In this paper, a strategy for ring–pack friction reduction through cylinder liner finish optimization based on coupling instrumented honing experiments and numerical prediction of elastohydrodynamic friction is proposed.
The results show that honed surfaces produced by fine abrasion by honing stones yield the optimal elastohydrodynamic friction. They also demonstrate the limitations of ISO 13565 standard roughness parameters in giving a complete description of the functional performances of cylinder surface finishes.

The prevalence of diabetes mellitus is growing worldwide, showing almost a 10-fold increase in the last five decades. Despite advances in the understanding of the disease mechanisms, preventive ...measures, and treatment options, morbidity and mortality remain high. Moreover, the burden of uncontrolled glycemia and associated complications have a significant impact on healthcare costs. To be ready for the future and emerging issues in the management of diabetes and related disorders, a holistic approach is essential for the prevention of the next generations. So many challenges in the management of diabetes exist globally, which differ according to the health infrastructure, and cultural, economic, and sociodemographic status of the nations.
In this minireview and commentary on previously unaddressed needs relating to the management of diabetes, we discuss the ubiquitous and most compelling challenges and suggest potential solutions in the care of patients with diabetes.
Objective: Social media addiction has become a considerable problem with the widespread use of social media. The aim of this research is to examine the psychometric properties of the Turkish version ...of the Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale, which was developed based on the 6-dimensional addiction model. Another aim of the study is to investigate the relationship between social media addiction and anxiety and depression symptoms. Methods: Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale is translated into Turkish by the translation-back translation method. Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were used to examine the construct validity of the Turkish version of the scale. The reliability was examined by internal consistency and test re-test method. Relationships between social media addiction and anxiety and depression symptoms were analyzed by correlation and regression analysis. Results: As a result of exploratory factor analysis for construct validity, it was found that the scale was in a one-dimensional structure as in the original form. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis indicated that the one-dimensional model was an acceptable fit. In the criterion-related validity study, it was found that the scale had a positive correlation with the Internet Addiction Scale. The internal consistency reliability and test re-test reliability coefficient of the scale was found to be acceptable. It was found that social media addiction predicted the anxiety and depression symptoms positively. Conclusions: According to the findings of this research can be said of Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale it can be used in studies to be conducted in Turkey. Preventive studies are recommended because of the increase in social media addiction may increase anxiety and depression symptoms. Patients with Klinefelter Syndrome (KS) have increased cardiometabolic risk however the pathogenesis is not clear. We investigated the presence of endothelial dysfunction, insulin resistance and ...inflammation in an unconfounded population of KS.
A total of 32 patients with KS (mean age 21.59 ± 1.66 years) and 33 healthy control subjects (mean age: 22.15 ± 1.03 years) were enrolled. The demographic parameters, Asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA), homeostatic model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) index and highsensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) levels were measured.
The patients had higher Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH), Luteinizing Hormone (LH), insulin, HOMA-IR and ADMA levels (p < 0.001 for all) and lower High Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol (HDL-C) and total testosterone levels (p=0.002 and p<0.001, respectively), compared to the healthy controls. Total testosterone levels were significantly negatively correlated to ADMA (r = - 0.479, p < 0,001), hs-CRP (r = -0.291, p = 0.034) and positively correlated to HDL-C (r = 0.429, p = 0.001) levels. The multivariate analysis has shown that total testosterone (β = -0.412, p = 0.001) and TG (β = 0.332, p = 0.009) levels were the significant independent determinants of the plasma ADMA levels.
The results of the present study show that endothelial dysfunction and insulin resistance are prevalent even in the very young subjects with KS, who have no metabolic or cardiac problems at present. Also, hypogonadism seems to play an important role for increased cardiometabolic risk in patients with KS.
