The incidence of autoimmune thyroid disorders is higher among women with breast cancer (BC) than in other solid malignancies, while it has not a prognostic impact. Trastuzumab (T) is a humanized ...monoclonal antibody approved for human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive BC in the neoadjuvant, adjuvant, and metastatic scenarios. Since 2014, subcutaneous (SC) T has been employed with the same efficacy as the intravenous formulation together with an easier way of administration. To date, autoimmune thyroiditis has been linked rarely to the use of intravenous T, and no cases have been related to the SC presentation. We report two cases of HER2-positive early BC patients who developed hypothyroidism during maintenance therapy with SC T that required levothyroxine supplementation. SC T includes recombinant human hyaluronidase to facilitate tissue penetration of the drug. This enzyme may alter the thyroid gland stroma and facilitate the development of thyroid disorders. Thyroid function tests are recommended in patients on SC T.
La aproximación al episteme de la gestión participativa comunitaria, se desarrolla en la Unidad de Producción Social (UPS) Semillas Múcura del INIA, ubicada en el Municipio Zamora del Estado Aragua, ...bajo el paradigma emergente Socio crítico- interpretativo, y regido por la metodología cualitativa, apoyado en el método fenomenológico-hermenéutico, cuyo propósito es interpretar para poder comprender, la experiencia vivida por dos sujetos significantes, enfocándose en su contexto socio cultural, valorando sus perspectivas, saberes, ideas e idiosincrasia, entre otras dimensiones humanas de los referidos sujetos dentro del fenómeno objeto a estudio; utilizando las técnicas de observación participante, la entrevista en profundidad tipo relato de vida y la revisión documental, dirigiéndose en la manera más próxima a la realidad estudiada mediante la interpretación. El análisis y legitimación de los saberes de los sujetos significantes, registrados en las entrevistas en profundidad, se realizará bajo las orientaciones epistémicas y metodológicas de Hermoso 2001, contemplándose la realidad como fuente de teoría, contenida en tres niveles o momentos, las cuales se describen el recorrido de validación. Emergerán categorías entorno a la gestión participativa según la realidad vivida por el sujeto, lo cual permitirá contrastar estas categorías consideradas elementos teóricos, las cuales serán confrontadas con las teorías existentes.//The approach to the episteme of community participatory management, develops in the Social Production Unit (UPS) Seed Múcura INIA, located in the Zamora district of the Aragua State, under the critical-interpretive Socio emerging paradigm, and governed by the qualitative methodology supported in the phenomenological-hermeneutic method, whose purpose is to interpret to understand the experience of two significant subjects, focusing on the socio-cultural context, valuing their perspectives, knowledge, ideas and idiosyncrasies, among other human dimensions of the aforementioned subjects within the object studied phenomenon; using the techniques of participant observation, in-depth interview type life story and document review, heading into the nearest way to the reality studied through interpretation.The analysis and knowledge legitimation of significant subjects, recorded in the in-depth interviews will be conducted under the epistemic and methodological orientations Beautiful 2001, contemplating reality as a source of theory, contained in three levels or moments, which are described the route validation. Abstract Aim Matrix metalloproteases (MMPs) expression and their inhibitors (TIMPs) play an important role in tumor physiopathology, so we investigated the relationship between the magnetic resonance ...(MR) and MMPs/TIMPs expression by breast carcinomas. Materials and methods MRI parameters of 64 breast carcinomas were investigated. An immunohistochemical study was also performed in these cases using tissue microarrays and specific antibodies against MMP-1, 2, 7, 9, 11, 13, 14, TIMP-1, 2 and 3. Results Tumors with spiculated margins had a high global (score) values of MMP-1 or MMP-7, and high expression of TIMP-3 by tumor cells. Heterogeneous tumors had a higher score values of MMP-1, MMP-13, TIMP-2 or TIMP-3, and frequent expression of TIMP-3 by tumor cells. Tumors showing fast enhancement, had higher score values of MMP-1 or MMP-11. Associations between washout curve (type III) and MMP-1, MMP-11, MMP-13 and TIMP-1 expression by tumor cells, were found. Conclusions MRI features may predict in some grade the expressions of MMPs/TIMPs in breast tumors, which might to contribute to a better biological characterization of breast cancer.
One of the most remarkable features of the central Northern Calcareous Alps (Eastern Alps, Austria) is the widespread presence of Upper Triassic deep-water carbonates (the Hallstatt facies) and ...Permo-Triassic evaporites resting on deep-water Middle Jurassic strata and their underlying Upper Triassic shallow-water carbonate platform successions. The Hallstatt facies and accompanying evaporites have been classically interpreted to originate either from a location south of the time-equivalent carbonate platforms, or to have been deposited in deeper water seaways within the broad platform domain. To date, this dispute has been addressed mostly through the analysis of Triassic and Jurassic facies distribution in map view, which, however, is subject to some degree of ambiguity and subjectivity. In this contribution we present, for the first time, sequentially restored regional cross-sections through the central Northern Calcareous Alps to understand the implications of the contrasting paleogeographic models. We present (a) an interpretation based on a highly allochthonous origin of the Triassic deep-water units and (b) an interpretation based on their relative autochthony in which we incorporate the potential influence of salt tectonics in the central NCA. The restored cross-sections provide a framework within which the alternative scenarios and their paleogeographic implications can be better understood. Through this analysis we propose that salt tectonics in the central NCA can provide a valid explanation for apparent inconsistencies in the relative autochthony scenario and thus constitutes a reasonable alternative to the currently accepted allochthony scenario.

La enfermedad de Fabry (EF) es un trastorno de depósito lisosomal ligado al cromosoma X, causado por la deficiencia de la actividad de la enzima alfa-galactosidasa A (GLA), que produce la acumulación ...de diversos glicoesfingolípidos, principalmente globotriaosilceramida (GB3) en los lisosomas de las células de todo el organismo. Los principales órganos afectados son el corazón, los riñones y el sistema nervioso central y periférico.Los datos sobre presión arterial en pacientes con enfermedad de Fabry son escasos en la literatura. El MAPA es un estudio que ha demostrado tener un valor pronóstico superior a la presión arterial en el consultorio (PAC) en la población en general. Una de las principales ventajas de este método es que permite valorar la presión arterial nocturna y predecir complicaciones CV. En adultos existe solamente un estudio publicado que evaluó la presión arterial en pacientes con enfermedad de Fabry mediante el uso de MAPA diagnosticando un 18,75% de hipertensos.El objetivo de este estudio es determinar la prevalencia de HTA oculta en una población adulta con EF y determinar si existe alguna relación con la HVI y la aparición de lesiones en sustancia blanca mediante RMN.Población y métodosEstudio prospectivo y descriptivo de serie de casos. De los 60 pacientes con enfermedad de Fabry que están en seguimiento en la institución, se estudiaron consecutivamente todos los pacientes que asistieron a control entre los meses de julio de 2019 y febrero de 2020. Se controló la presión arterial en consultorio y frecuencia cardíaca y se les ofreció realizar un MAPA para participar del estudio. Se utilizaron las imágenes de resonancia magnética y ecocardiograma que los pacientes ya tenían realizados por protocolo de seguimiento.
ABSTRACT SQL and, more recently, SPARQL are standard languages of the software industry for retrieving data. Other studies showed that retrieving data by using a SPARQL query is much slower than the ...semantically equivalent SQL query. Nevertheless, some recent proposals optimized database servers for SPARQL queries. This paper presents the results of a comparative analysis between the capability of SQL and SPARQL with respect to the retrieval of data from a relational database and RDF-triples. A free and open source-based scenario was constructed by using PostgreSQL and Virtuoso for storing data, and RETRI, a data retrieving software built in JavaScript which displays data views in a specific XML format. Open data from the British National Library Bibliographic Data Set were used in the experiment; results were analyzed from a performance perspective. Keywords: Data views, retrieving process performance, semantic web. RESUMEN SQL y más recientemente SPARQL, son lenguajes estándares para la recuperación de datos en la industria del software. Otros estudios han mostrado que recuperar datos utilizando consultas SPARQL es mucho más lento que su consulta semánticamente equivalente en SQL. Sin embargo, algunas propuestas recientes han optimizado servidores de bases de datos para consultas SPARQL. En este artículo se presentan los resultados de comparar SQL y SPARQL en cuanto a la recuperación de datos a partir de bases de datos relacionales y tripletas RDF respectivamente. Un escenario basado en software libre y de código abierto fue construido usando PostgreSQL y Virtuoso para almacenar datos y RETRI, un software para la recuperación de datos desarrollado en JavaScript, que muestra vistas de datos almacenadas en un formato XML específico. Se utilizaron datos abiertos del conjunto de datos de la Biblioteca Nacional Británica en el experimento y los resultados fueron analizados desde una perspectiva de rendimiento.
