This paper reports the early beam commissioning of the KEK digital accelerator, which consists of novel accelerator components such as a permanent-magnet x-band electron cyclotron resonance ion ...source, an Einzel lens longitudinal chopper, an electrostatic injection kicker, and induction acceleration devices. The performance of the Einzel lens longitudinal chopper is described together with the results of beam commissioning, including the beam orbit correction, barrier bucket bunch capture, and induction acceleration.
Background. Cases of synchronous multiple lung cancer are increasing, because of greater frequency of periodic medical checkups and opportunities to receive CT scans. Case. An 81-year-old man was ...referred to our hospital for an abnormal opacity detected on chest CT. Chest CT revealed a nodular lesion in the lower lobe of the right lung, as well as right hilar and mediastinal lymphadenopathy. FDG-PET revealed distinct accumulation in the lesion in the lower lobe of the right lung and in the enlarged hilar-mediastinal lymph nodes. Transbronchial lung biopsy of the nodule yielded a diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma. Ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration of an enlarged mediastinal lymph node revealed a diagnosis of small cell carcinoma. Conclusions. When performing bronchoscopy for multiple lesions showing distinct accumulation on FDG-PET, synchronous multiple lung cancer or the presence of entirely different diseases should be considered and adequate biopsy for each of the lesions should be performed.
It is proved that the Hasse-Weil zeta functions of the canonical components
of the ${\rm SL}_2$ (${\rm PSL}_2$)-character varieties of closed orientable
complete hyperbolic $3$-manifolds of finite ...volume are equal to the Dedekind
zeta functions of their trace fields (invariant trace fields). When the closed
$3$-manifold is arithmetic, the special value at $s=2$ of the Hasse-Weil zeta
function of the canonical component of the ${\rm PSL}_2$-character variety is
expressed in terms of the hyperbolic volume of the manifold up to rational
numbers.
It is proved that the Hasse-Weil zeta functions of the canonical components of the \({\rm SL}_2\) (\({\rm PSL}_2\))-character varieties of closed orientable complete hyperbolic \(3\)-manifolds of ...finite volume are equal to the Dedekind zeta functions of their trace fields (invariant trace fields). When the closed \(3\)-manifold is arithmetic, the special value at \(s=2\) of the Hasse-Weil zeta function of the canonical component of the \({\rm PSL}_2\)-character variety is expressed in terms of the hyperbolic volume of the manifold up to rational numbers.
Hasse-Weil zeta functions of SL_2-character varieties of arithmetic two bridge link groups are determined. Special values of the zeta functions at s=0,1,2 are also investigated.
