Current research purpose to analyze and explain the influence of environmental uncertainty on competitiveness and fishery company performance, then also aims to examine the mediating role of ...competitiveness. This research uses a quantitative approach, with data collection using questionnaires. The sampling in this study was determined based on criteria represented by 3 people at the management level of 19 fishing companies (i.e. directors, operational managers, and supervisors), thus a total sample of 57 managers in the fisheries company. Data analysis and hypothesis testing in this current research using generalized Structured Component Analysis (GSCA). Research findings indicate a positive and significant influence between environmental uncertainty on competitiveness and fishery company performance. Similarly, the competitiveness has a positive and significant effect on fishery company performance. Lasty, competitiveness has a role as partial mediation of the influence environmental uncertainty toward fishery company performance. The practical implications of the results of this study are the importance of fishing companies to adapt to environmental uncertainties in order to create competitiveness and improve company performance.
The current research aims to examine the influence of knowledge sharing (KS) and strategic locations on innovation and competitive advantage (CA) of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). The ...present research aims to analyze and empirically examine the influence of KS and strategic location on CA through the mediating role of innovation. The sample size of this study was 99 managers of SMEs in Southeast Sulawesi Province. The analytical tool used in testing the research hypotheses is SEM-PLS. These findings indicate that KS and strategic locations has a significantly positive influence on innovation. Similarly, strategic locations and innovation significantly positive effect towards CA. However, KS does not have a significant influence on CA. The main findings in this research show that of innovation has a role as mediation in the relationship between KS and strategic locations to improve CA in SMEs. The findings of this research indicate SMEs must be able to take strategic decisions in determining locations and have the ability to share knowledge through innovation to improve CA.
Abstract The main objective of this study was to analyze the productivity and efficiency of concrete casting using a mini crane with a capacity of 200 kg as designed by the researcher, compared to ...using the manual method. The method used in this study is the assembly of mini cranes with a capacity of 200 kg, then field or work tests are carried out and accompanied by observations and subsequent data analysis. The results of the analysis are that using a mini-crane is more profitable compared to the manual method. The authenticity of this research is that mini-cranes are designed and made by researchers with style and models adapted to the conditions of small towns and inland areas in Indonesia, made based on Appropriate Technology not using imported materials and prioritizing scrap metal waste which is the authenticity of this research , thus our research has the principle of producing innovations and works that are useful for human life.
The aim of this research was to explore the development model of cacao industry with sectoral competitive advantage. More specifically, the purposes of this research were to examine and explain the ...effects of market orientation, supply chain flexibility and strategic location toward competitive advantage in cacao agro-industry. Design used in this research was explanatory research with process of data collection through survey method by using questionnaire. Unit analysis of this research was leaders/managers of cacao industry. Data analysis method used is the generalized structured component analysis. Findings of this research show that market orientation and strategic location have positive effect and significant toward competitive advantage. But, supply chain flexibility has no significant effect towards competitive advantage. Furthermore, control variable of institutional economic has positive and significant effect towards competitive advantage. Practical implication can give understanding and information for managers of cacao industry in implementing their market orientation, supply chain flexibility and market strategy by assessing the ability of partner supply chain to respond market changes in obtaining and maintaining the competitive advantage. Limitation of this study is that in delivering the analysis, analysis relation of cross sectional was limited to respondents, manager/leaders only. Further researches need to involve cacao farmers, customers, government and business partners in the sampling. Besides that, commodity which was focused was very specific that is cacao industry. Therefore, put in concern about factors of season and farmers involvement need to get serious attention. Originality of this research can prove and explain integration of conceptual model in structural relation among market orientation, strategic location, and supply chain flexibility in improving competitive advantage. Furthermore, this research also gives empirical evidence of the role of variable control of institutional economic has significant effect towards competitive advantage.
