This paper analyzes the accessibility of web content of medical platforms in accordance with the international guidelines established by W3C and the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI). The article ...presents the results of a May 2018 study on web accessibility for health sites. The evaluation was done on a sample of seven sites using an automated testing tool. The evaluation was performed on a sample of seven sites using an automated test tool - Total Validator. The study demonstrated a relatively low web accessibility of the analyzed eHealth websites and highlighted general accessibility recommendations.
Assisted care using artificial intelligence technology is an emerging paradigm in healthcare, offering significant opportunities for improving patients' quality of life and healthcare efficiency. ...However, with the implementation of artificial intelligence technology in healthcare, many concerns about ethical issues regarding data usage are also developing. In this context, the article addresses the importance of ethical principles in AI-assisted care, highlighting some key aspects that need to be considered to ensure the responsible and beneficial use of this technology in healthcare. The research focuses on ethical principles regarding the implementation and development of artificial intelligence in eHealth applications, as well as the ethical implications of data use under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Use cases for applications employing users` personal data in different contexts are presented, highlighting the role of AI in eHealth, for the early detection and diagnosis of neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases, for personalised therapies, the continuous patient monitoring as well as for virtual healthcare specific to these diseases. A security solution based on a multimodal biometric system that can be used in eHealth applications for neurodegenerative diseases is also proposed.

Home health monitoring of the elderly has grown in recent years and the context of pandemic has facilitated its evolution, offering the opportunity for medical service providers to expand and improve ...the quality of eHealth systems and products. A major market potential is represented by the field of eHealth – in this case the home health monitoring of the elderly, the context of the pandemic being a decisive factor in the exploration of this potential. The need to design viable solutions geared towards a target market becomes an inevitable challenge to improve profitability and therefore stakeholder value. The paper presents in detail a SWOT analysis highlighting the key points of eHealth monitoring systems, identifying the optimal potential of these solutions. The case study presents a viable eHealth solution highlighting a competitive advantage in personalised home monitoring for the elderly as well as a financial projection.

eHealth has an essential role in the contemporary context of health, in general, and health care in particular. eHealth builds innovative information and interaction bridges for eHealth services and ...applications, for healthcare professionals and patients. As eHealth develops and the number of eHealth applications is growing, eHealth users are increasingly concerned about their quality and implicitly with the quality of data used in these eHealth applications. Ensuring health data quality remains an important issue, which contributes to guaranteeing accurate processing and interpretation of the information, as well as adequate intervention of the services. If data quality is ignored, the collected data can have a significant negative impact on the results of eHealth applications and on decision-making. In this paper, it was intended to demonstrate that in eHealth, the quality of applications is an important factor that decides their success and presented the quality characteristics of eHealth applications.
Knowledge of the interactions and influences of infectious, genetic, and environmental factors on the evolution and treatment response of malignant tumors is essential for improving the management of ...the disease and increasing patient survival. The objective of this study was to establish the contribution of human papillomavirus (HPV), as well as p53 and p16 tumor markers, alongside associated factors (smoking and alcohol consumption), in the progression of malignancies located in the oropharynx and at the retromolar trigone-oropharyngeal junction.
We performed a prospective study including 50 patients with malignant tumors of the oropharynx and retromolar trigone-oropharyngeal junction. In all patients, the presence and type of HPV were determined, as well as the status of the tumor markers p53 and p16. The associated risk factors, biopsy results, treatment method, and post-treatment evolution were all documented. Statistical analyses were performed to evaluate the correlations between the determining factors and their influence on the post-treatment evolution. An overall increased survival rate was found in HPV(+) patients.
Our study outlined the prevalence of different high-risk subtypes of HPV from the ones presented by other studies, suggesting a possible geographic variation. Correlations between the p53 and p16 statuses and patient survival could be established. The association of smoking and alcohol consumption strongly correlated with an unfavorable evolution.
Awareness of the differences in the post-treatment evolution of the patients in relation to the presence of the factors determined in our study could change the future management of such cases for ensuring improved treatment outcomes.

The evolution of the digital economy and society is reflected in an overall increase in the economic efficiency and improvement in all areas. It is essential that the progress of the digital society ...is constantly monitored for a vision of the implementation of the strategies pursued. This article presents an analysis of the digital society from the perspective of the priorities established by the National Strategy for the Digital Agenda 2020 following the stage of digitalization of the Romanian economy in relation to European trends. The paper presents the evolution of the Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI) indicators and of the National Strategy on Digital Agenda for Romania (SNADR) indicators between 2016 and 2019, highlighting the situation in Romania, providing a theoretical basis for strategic guidelines, as well as a comparation between DESI and SNADR indicators.
