The COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted the mental, emotional and psychological health of Frontline nurses. This study examines the impact of fear of COVID-19 on nurses' turnover intention, ...secondary trauma, and psychological distress. Additionally, we explore the possible moderating variable, i.e., leadership support that may compensate for the negative impact of fear of COVID-19 on the nurses' turnover intention, secondary trauma, and psychological distress. Initially, 700 nurses were contacted; however, the response of 380 nurses was received. It is found that fear of COVID-19 significantly affects nurses mental health. We concluded that hospital administrations should support, encourage and motivate Frontline nurses to reduce negative emotional and mental health issues.
The throughput of a communication system depends on the data traffic load and the available capacity to support that load. In an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-based communication system, the UAV ...position is one of the major factor affecting the capacity available to the flows (data sessions) being served. This paper proposes a centralized algorithm for positioning UAVs to maximize the throughput of a software-defined disaster area UAV communication network. The software-defined networking controller maintains upto date information about the network topology as well as the data rate demands and paths of the flows. The proposed algorithm utilizes this information to determine the positions for the UAVs such that the total throughput is maximized. The algorithm was simulated using MATLAB. The results showed that an average throughput improvement of 26% can be achieved by optimally positioning the UAVs.
TQM literature suggests that hard TQM has a profound impact on organisational performance. However, most empirical studies have examined the impact of each dimension of TQM on performance separately. ...We argue that it is more appropriate to investigate the direct impact of soft TQM on the diffusion of hard TQM, and then assess the direct impact of hard TQM on performance. Analysis of 261 Australian manufacturing companies revealed significant positive relationships between soft TQM and hard TQM elements. In addition to direct affects, soft TQM also has an indirect affect on performance through its effect on hard TQM.
A similarity measure is being widely used as a tool to create the degree of similarity between two different objects or sets. Several similarity measures between two Pythagorean fuzzy sets (PFSs) are ...suggested in literature. As far as our knowledge is concerned no one has considered similarity measure between two Pythagorean fuzzy sets (PFSs) based on Jaccard index (JI) so far. Therefore, in this manuscript a novel similarity measure based on JI between two PFSs is suggested. The JI is statics used to compare similarity as well as variety of simple sets. The advantages of proposed similarity based on Jaccard index includes: (i) It can be utilized to compare any two sets and it can also be applied to text data, numerical data and even categorical data. (ii) It is robust to outliers, which means that it is not significantly affected by presence of rare or unusual items exist in the data. This makes it useful in variety of applications including clustering and anomaly detection (iii) It is simple and efficient in computation which make it right choice in many applications where fast processing time is important. Then we gave several numerical examples to show the reliability of suggested similarity measures. Our proposed similarity measure between PFSs based on JI give better properties with respect to numerical results. Based on the numerical analysis, our proposed method is reliable, reasonable and better than the existing ones. Furthermore, we utilized proposed similarity measure with Pythagorean Fuzzy Technique of Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (PF-TOPSIS) in handling complex daily life issues involving multicriteria decision-making (MCDM) processes. Furthermore, similarity measure between two PFSs is also very useful in clustering. Therefore, we also apply our proposed similarity measure in an application to clustering based on Pythagorean fuzzy data set. Final results revealed that our suggested methods are well suited and reasonable in multicriteria decision-making and clustering environment.
This study aims to empirically examine the mediating effects of psychological safety and leadership identification on the relationship between inclusive leadership and pro-social rule breaking among ...hospitality employees. This study analyzes the survey data collected in three waves from 589 employees working in different hotels and restaurants operating in the Northern areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The scale validity, composite reliability, and hypotheses were assessed through PLS-SEM. The study found that inclusive leadership significantly impacts employees’ pro-social rule-breaking. The study also found that leadership identification and psychological safety partially mediate the relationship between inclusive leadership and pro-social rule-breaking. Hospitality leaders can practice inclusive leadership characteristics because it may significantly enhance employee engagement in pro-social rule-breaking. Through their inclusive features, hospitality leaders can improve employees’ psychological safety and leadership identification, enhancing frontline employees’ pro-social rule-breaking.
Fuzzy sets (FSs) with belief and plausibility measures in Dempster-Shafer theory (DST) are recognized as different methodology to model imperfect, uncertain, and vague information more accurately ...than probability. Various generalizations of DST to FSs are suggested in the numerous literatures but the generalization of DST to Pythagorean fuzzy sets (PFSs) has not yet been considered so far. In this paper, we first suggest an intuitive and simple way to develop a generalization of DST to PFSs with the characterization of belief function in terms of membership function and plausibility function in terms of 1-nonmemberhip function respectively. We give the interpretation of belief and plausibility on PFSs and then construct belief-plausibility intervals (BPIs) of PFSs. On the basis of suggested BPIs, we use Hausdorff distance to describe the distance between two BPIs and then construct several similarity measures in the generalized context of DST to PFSs. By utilizing the method of VIekriterijumsko KOmpromisno Rangiranje (VIKOR), the suggested belief and plausibility measures on PFSs in the framework of DST enable us to develop a belief-plausibility VIKOR (BP-VIKOR) to manage multicriteria decision-making (MCDM) problems related to daily life settings. Numerical analysis with examples are given to show the suggested method is reasonable, and suitable in the environment of PFSs in the context of generalization of DST.
The ultra-dense deployment (UDD) of small cells in 5G and beyond to enhance capacity and data rate is promising, but since user densities continually change, the static deployment of small cells can ...lead to wastes of capital, the underutilization of resources, and user dissatisfaction. This work proposes the use of Aerial Base Stations (ABSs) wherein small cells are mounted on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), which can be deployed to a set of candidate locations. Furthermore, based on the current user densities, this work studies the optimal placement of the ABSs, at a subset of potential candidate positions, to maximize the total received power and signal-to-interference ratio. The problems of the optimal placement for increasing received power and signal-to-interference ratio are formulated, and optimal placement solutions are designed. The proposed solutions compute the optimal candidate locations for the ABSs based on the current user densities. When the user densities change significantly, the proposed solutions can be re-executed to re-compute the optimal candidate locations for the ABSs, and hence the ABSs can be moved to their new candidate locations. Simulation results show that a 22% or more increase in the total received power can be achieved through the optimal placement of the Aerial BSs and that more than 60% users have more than 80% chance to have their individual received power increased.

The throughput of a communication system depends on the offered traffic load and the available capacity to support that load. When an unmanned aerial verhicle (UAV) is responsible for providing the ...communication service to users within its transmission range, the position of the UAV determines how much capacity each user gets. The closer the UAV to a user, the greater the capacity that the user gets. For a given set of user traffic demands and user locations, it is possible to maximize the total throughput by optimally positioning the UAV. This paper presents two methods, a heuristic method and an approximation algorithm, for determining the UAV position that maximizes the overall system throughput. This paper also considers a related problem of keeping all users within the transmission range while determining the UAV position that maximizes throughput. The proposed schemes were evaluated with extensive simulations using MATLAB and the ns-2 simulator. The results show that significant throughput enhancement is possible by optimally positioning the UAV when user positions are unevenly distributed and/or data rate demands are widely spread.
Agile software development methodologies have become the most popular software development methods in the last few years. These methodologies facilitate rapid development. The low cost and ...prioritized user satisfaction make these methodologies more attractive. These methodologies were also intended for small scale developmental teams. Therefore, challenges were encountered when these methodologies were used in large-scale development teams. This study was based on the identification of factors which were discovered in our previous study. Some of the factors included “leadership strong commitment and team autonomy”, “cooperative organizational culture”, and “team competency—agile development expertise”. A total of 147 practices were identified in this study via a systematic literature review. These practices will help practitioners and project managers to adopt agile software methodologies and encourage them to the enhance them.
Recently, a highly credible report suggested that the quality philosophy and quality standards have not effectively reached the core of Australia's commercial base - 780,000 small and medium ...enterprises (SMEs). Drawing on this critical finding, this study aims at providing empirical evidence on the differences in total quality management (TQM) implementation and organisational performance of SMEs in Western Australia, with and without ISO 9000 certification. Using the criteria of the Australian Business Excellence (ABE) framework as a guide, a questionnaire with 36 items was developed, checked for reliability and validity and applied to create a self-assessment measure of TQM practices. The results showed that there was no significant difference between SMEs with and without ISO 9000 certification with respect to TQM implementation and organisational performance. This result concurs with the findings of studies conducted in the context of large organisations in Australia.
