AbstractEarly- and preschool-aged children spend their childhood in educational institutions. However, their growing up takes place during a time spent outside institutions. Considering the fact that ...childhood institutionalization is nowadays a frequently discussed topic, the interest in spending quality time which is not only realized in the family community, but also, more and more, in early education facilities and other out-of-home programmes aimed at children and their improvement, is becoming increasingly important. That exact segment of life has proved to be an important predictor of the quality development of each individual. By participating in various activities, the child is able to develop a personal system of values, critical thinking, tolerance, and human and ethical values. This paper presents the results of a survey conducted in kindergartens in the City of Zagreb, Sisak, Petrinja, Velika Gorica, and Velika Mlaka. Using an appropriately constructed Questionnaire on Parents’ Opinions on Childhood Institutionalization, 250 parents assessed the importance of including children in different activities provided by early education institutions and other out-of-home programmes.Key words: child; childhood; early education facilities; leisure activities; parents; play.---SažetakDijete rane i predškolske dobi svoje djetinjstvo provodi u ustanovama za odgoj i obrazovanje, međutim, njegovo se odrastanje odvija i u vremenu koje nije obuhvaćeno boravkom u nekoj od institucija. S obziromna to da se danas učestalo govori o institucionalizaciji djetinjstva, interes za provođenje kvalitetnog vremena koje se uz obiteljsku zajednicu sve više ostvaruje i u ustanovama ranog odgoja i u drugim izvanobiteljskim programima usmjerenim na dijete i njegovu dobrobit dobiva na važnosti. Upravo taj segment života pokazao se kao bitan prediktor u kvalitetnom razvoju svakog pojedinca. Participiranjem u različitim aktivnostima djetetu je omogućeno razvijanje osobnog sustava vrijednosti, kritičnog mišljenja, razvoja tolerancije i humanih etičkih vrijednosti. U ovom radu provedeno je istraživanje u dječjim vrtićima Grada Zagreba i dječjim vrtićima s područja Siska, Petrinje, Velike Gorice i Velike Mlake. 250 roditelja je u prigodno konstruiranom Upitniku o mišljenju roditelja o institucionaliziranosti djetinjstva, procjenjivalo važnost uključenosti djece u različite aktivnosti koje se ostvaruju u ustanovama ranog odgoja i drugim izvanobiteljskim programima.Ključne riječi: igra; roditelji; slobodne aktivnosti; ustanove ranog odgoja i obrazovanja.

U traženju odgovara na pitanje je li inicijalno obrazovanje odgajatelja organizirano u skladu sa zahtjevima suvremene prakse, u ovom su istraživanju ispitivani stavovi i mišljenja studenata (N=235) Učiteljskog fakulteta Sveučilišta u Zagrebu, o provedbi stručno-pedagoške prakse u dječjim vrtićima, uz istodobno sagledavanje i analiziranje poteškoća koje na tom području opažaju i na koje nailaze. U teorijskom dijelu ovog rada propituje se međuodnos kvalitete obrazovanja odgojitelja i suvremene koncepcije stručno-pedagoške prakse, koji se u empirijskom dijelu provjerava na odabranom istraživačkom uzorku. Jednim One Sample T- Testom potvrđeni su pozitivni stavovi studenata ranog i predškolskog odgoja o provedbi stručno-pedagoške prakse. U području korelacijskog nacrta potvrđena je statistički značajna povezanost (Spearman) između pojedine godine studija i procjene prakse, odnosno zadovoljstva studenata i uspješnosti stručno-pedagoške prakse. Studenti treće godine studija razlikuju se od studenata prve i druge godine studija u smjeru manje iskazanog zadovoljstva stručno-pedagoškom praksom. Suvremeni pristup obrazovanju djece rane i predškolske dobi usmjeren je, između ostaloga, i prema razvoju digitalne kompetencije. U kurikulu dječjeg vrtića sve se češće primjenjuju aktivnosti s ...područja informacijske i komunikacijske tehnologije radi zadovoljavanja zahtjeva obrazovnih politika. Pritom se uzimaju u obzir specifičnosti osoba novih generacija čije je djetinjstvo obilježeno digitalnom tehnologijom. Današnja djeca svakodnevno se koriste različitim digitalnim uređajima najčešće kao izvorom zabave. To je često obilježeno intuitivnim i spontanim ovladavanjem novim znanjima i vještinama. Međutim, potrebno je iskoristiti mogućnosti uporabe digitalne tehnologije tijekom obrazovanja. Promišljanje o navedenoj problematici dovelo je do kvalitativnog istraživanja odnosno provođenja studije slučaja. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo dvanaestero djece u dobi od tri do sedam godina iz Dječjeg vrtića Malešnica u Zagrebu. Polazište istraživanja temeljilo se na razumijevanju i ostvarivanju dobrobiti uključivanjem podnog računala Bee-Bot-a u odgojno-obrazovni rad, posebice tijekom socijalizacije, u timskom radu te proširivanju postojećih digitalnih znanja i vještina u djece. U ovome radu riječ je o mogućnosti uporabe Bee-Bot-a s motrišta digitalne tehnologije u svakidašnjim aktivnostima djece u dječjem vrtiću Takve aktvnosti primjenjuju se u zatvorenom i na otvorenom prostoru, gdje Bee-Bot preuzima ulogu motivatora za istraživačke aktivnosti potičući tako djecu na kretanje, druženje i vršnjačku suradnju. Takvim pristupom šalje se djeci poruka o prihvaćanju njihovih interesa za digitalnu tehnologiju i usmjerava ih se na kritičko promišljanje o njenoj upotrebi. Rezultati provedenog istraživanja upućuju na ostvarivanje svih izabranih dobrobiti. Posebno su uočene promjene u području socijalne dobrobiti u razvoju timskog rada, što se odrazilo na povećanje kvalitete komunikacije među djecom.
Abstract The development of technology affects all spheres of human life, including children's play. The changes resulting from the fast development of technology and new media leave a huge dent in ...the process of children's play.This paper tends to answer the question how the development of technology and new media influences the changes in the context of children's play, whether the new media has become just a good excuse for some other, deeper social changes taking place in a society and influencing all segments of human life, including children. It is concluded that, with the development of technology, children's play has evolved in another direction, a direction that has not been sufficiently explored, often unfavourably judged and blamed for all the negative changes in children's life. A basic developmental characteristic of children is their openness to something new and different. Children are by nature explorers who investigate everything in their environment and beyond. The possibilities of technology and new media in children's play are just another segment that requires exploration and investigation, and that is interesting for children to research. Simplicity and openness to new things is something one needs to appreciate and nurture in children. On the trail of these changes adults are faced with new tasks, such as showing complete openness to new things and discarding all prejudices, limitations and ignorance. When all of this is behind us, we can help children get into great exploration of the new media as a new and inevitable part of their new play. Accepting the strong impact of the new media on children's play allows us a certain amount of control over the quality of play in order to protect children.Technology and the new media have become part of children's play, of the way children play in the 21st century.Key words: change; educators; technology.---SažetakRazvoj tehnologije utječe na sve sfere ljudskog života, pa tako i na dječju igru. Promjene koje nastaju utjecajem ubrzanog razvoja tehnologija i novih medija ostavljaju velik trag na dječju igru.U ovom radu pokušava se odgovoriti na pitanje koliko je razvoj tehnologije i novih medija utjecao na promjene u kontekstu razvoja dječje igre, te postaju li novi mediji samo dobar izgovor za neke druge, dublje socijalne promjene koje se zbivaju u društvu i utječu na sve segmente ljudskog života, pa tako i na dječju igru. Zaključuje se kako je razvojem tehnologije dječja igra evoluirala u jednom drugom smjeru, smjeru koji još nije dovoljno istražen, koji je često negativno osuđivan i optuživan za sve negativne promjene u dječjem životu. Osnovna razvojna karakteristika djece je otvorenost za novo i drugačije. Djeca su po svojoj prirodi istraživači koji istražuju sve u svom okruženju i šire. Mogućnosti tehnologije i novih medije u dječjoj igri samo su još jedan novi segment koji je potrebno istražiti i koji postaje zanimljiv predmet dječjeg istraživanja. Jednostavnost i otvorenost prema novome je nešto što je u djece potrebno cijeniti i njegovati. Na tragu tih promjena pred odrasle se postavljaju novi zadaci, zadaci kao što su potpuna otvorenost za novo, odbacivanje svih predrasuda, ograničenja i neznanja. Kada je sve to iza nas, možemo zajedno s djecom krenuti u veliko istraživanje novih medija kao novog i neizbježnog dijela nove dječje igre. Prihvaćanje snažnog utjecaj novih medija na dječju igru omogućuje nam određenu dozu kontrole nad kvalitetom igre s ciljem zaštite djece. The paper focuses on the analysis of the conditions for inclusion of children with autism spectrum disorders in early and pre-school education by kindergartens teacher. The conditions relate to ...estimates of theoretical knowledge and attitudes of the educator, assessment of abilities and limitations of children with autism spectrum disorders, self-assessment of the competences of educators for their upbringing and education and assessment of other conditions for the inclusion of children with autism spectrum disorders. The survey results were analyzed by a questionnaire of 68 educators from 6 kindergartens in town of Split. There is a central level of knowledge about inclusion and low self-assessment of educators about their competence in which they are active participants in the inclusion of children with a disorder of the autism spectrum. Attractive factors for the implementation of inclusive education of children with autism spectrum disorder evaluated: inconsistent assurance of nursery assistants, lack of competent educators, and insufficient co-operation with parents of children with autism spectrum disorder. The analysis points to the lack of systematic education of educators for inclusive educational practice. The authors exclude the importance of the knowledge and skills of educators in the area of information communication technology, particularly augmentative and alternative communication.Key words: children with autistic spectrum disorder; information communication technology; competence of the educator; Educational and Teaching Inclusion
PurposeThe aim of this research was to find out students' and mentors' attitudes toward the quality of mentoring support during teaching practicums. The research sought to determine whether there is ...any difference in (self) assessment between teacher mentors and early childhood education students.Design/methodology/approachThrough the quantitative research methodology, the Crisp (2009) College Student Mentoring Scale (CSMS) instrument was used to assess the quality of mentoring support during teaching practicums. Assessments were made in relation to the following variables: support in the areas of psychological and emotional needs, support in professional development and the development of professional competencies and the role of mentors as models. Early childhood education students (n1 = 105) and mentors (n2 = 54) of teaching practicums at the Faculty of Teacher Education, University of Zagreb, participated in the research.FindingsThe results of the research show that there is a statistically significant difference between student assessments and mentor self-assessment with regard to all researched areas of support. Mentors rated their mentoring skills higher than students did.Originality/valueAn approach in which mentoring is assessed in the context of support to students in different areas (e.g. psychological, emotional, professional) is rarely used in early childhood teacher education. Results indicate the need for a systematic evaluation of mentoring and the design of programs to strengthen mentoring competences.
