The Hand gesture recognition-based research field plays a prominent role in the automated transformation of sign language and is the major source of communication among deaf people. During a ...reorganization of hand gestures, the background deduction cannot deal with sudden, drastic lighting changes leading to several inconsistencies. This method also requires relatively many parameters, which need to be selected intelligently. A novel Gabor Line Derivative Deep Convolution Neural Network-based Levy flight Whale optimization is introduced. Primarily pre-processing is done to diminish the computation complexity of processing red, green, and blue channel images. With the Gabor Line Derivative-based feature extraction technique, a relevant set of line features are extracted and subjected to the proposed optimization-driven deep learning algorithm. Deep learning approaches are quite popular in the recognition of HGIs, but choosing appropriate hyper-parameters is a complex problem. Additionally, the key problem associated with deep learning techniques is that the outcome of the accuracy measure attained is not much effective in the existing models. Thus, a novel Deep Convolution Neural Network based Levy flight Whale optimization is introduced in terms of categorizing dissimilar static and dynamic HGIs. The experimental analysis reveals that the proposed classifier performs better than other competitive existing methods through the performance matrices such as Precision, Accuracy, F1-score, Recall, specificity, Recognition time, FNR, FDR, loss, FPR, MCC, training time, and NPV. The combination of the proposed methods is enabled and attained an accuracy of about 97%. The implementation of this work is done in the python platform.

The present study deals with the investigation of ...corrosion inhibition efficiency of chitosan modified with an anionic surfactant, namely sodium lauryl sulfate. The modified chitosan was characterized using spectral techniques such as ATR- FTIR and NMR, thermal analytical methods that include TGA and DSC. The surface charge and particle size distribution were analyzed using Zeta potential analyzer. The corrosion inhibition efficiency of the water-soluble modified chitosan was evaluated using gravimetric and electrochemical methods. A maximum corrosion inhibition efficiency of 96.44% for 6 h of immersion period at 303 K was obtained. The adsorption process obeyed Langmuir isotherm. The adsorption mechanism involved both physisorption and chemisorption. Tafel and impedance studies showed results in agreement with the gravimetric method. Tafel plot indicates the inhibitor controlled both cathodic hydrogen evolution and anodic metal dissolution reactions. AC impedance study supports the increase in surface coverage of the metal surface by the inhibitor, forming a protective film. Further evidence comes from the surface characterization of the inhibited metal surface by contact angle measurement, SEM, EDAX spectra, and atomic force microscopic studies. DFT and Monte Carlo simulation studies showed a proper alignment with the experiment results.

Ozone is the strongest molecule available for the disinfection of water and is second only to elemental fluorine in oxidizing power. Ozone is being used in the food industry in various applications such as decontamination of water and equipment surfaces. Several researchers have focused on the application of ozone to inactivate microorganisms on fresh produce, like fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry, fish, and eggs, and dry produce, such as cereals, pulses, and spices. This review comprehensively analyses appropriate ozone concentrations and exposure times and discusses various factors that affect the quality and safety of food products during ozonation.
Disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate salt is known for its excellent coordinating properties with the metal ions. The present study deals with the investigation of the prepared Disodium EDTA ...functionalized chitosan in corrosion inhibition for mild steel in 1 M HCl. The modified chitosan was characterized by spectral studies, thermal analysis, and Zeta potential studies. The corrosion inhibition efficiency (%) was evaluated using the gravimetric method and electrochemical studies. The electrochemical studies included potentiodynamic polarization, linear polarization resistance, and electrochemical impedance methods. The modified chitosan polymer showed an inhibition efficiency of 96.63% for 500 ppm at 303 K. Adsorption process obeyed Langmuir isotherm. Experimental results and theoretical calculations endorsed initial physisorption followed by a chemisorption process. Surface characterization studies supported the formation of a protective film that enabled the inhibition process. Density functional theory, Monte Carlo studies, and molecular dynamics simulation studies show a good agreement with the experimental results. Two-way Analysis of Variance was performed to test the influence of immersion period and inhibitor concentration on the corrosion rate using the statistical software IBM SPSS 20.0. A quartic model was generated as the best fit with the highest R2 value of 0.973. Design Expert software was employed for statistical modeling fit.

The underground developments are likely to deteriorate the water quality, which causes damage to the structure. The pollutant levels largely affect the aquifer properties and alter the ...characteristics of the water quality. Ferritin nanoparticle usage proves to be an effective technology for reducing the pollutant level of the salts, which are likely to affect the underground structure. The observation wells are selected around the underground Metro Rail Corridor, and the secondary observation wells are selected around the corridors. Ferritin is a common iron storage protein as a powder used in the selected wells identified in the path of underground metro rail corridors. Water sampling was done to assess the water quality in the laboratory. The water quality index plots for the two phases (1995-2008) and (2009-2014) using GIS explains the water quality scenario before and after the Ferritin treatment. The Ferritin treatment in water was very effective in reducing the pollutants level of Fluoride and sulphate salts which is likely to bring damage to the structure.
The development of thermal diffusive flow over a stretching sheet with variable thickness has been investigated. The non-linear coupled partial differential equations governing the flow and thermal ...fields are first transformed into a set of non-linear coupled ordinary differential equations by a set of suitable similarity transformations. The resulting system of coupled non-linear differential equations is solved using the Shooting method by converting into an initial value problem. In this method, the system of equations is converted into the set of first order system which is solved by fourth-order Runge–Kutta method. It is interesting to note that multiple solutions are observed for certain wall thickness parameter (β) and velocity power index (m). Velocity overshoot near the wall is observed for certain solution branches. The significant impacts on the boundary layer development along the wall on the velocity profiles and on the shear stress distribution in the fluid have been found by the non-flatness of the stretching surface. The mass suction effect is introduced by the non-flatness, when the velocity power index is less than one. The mass injection effect is lead to non-flatness when the velocity power index is greater than one. It is found that dual solution exists only for negative value of velocity power index (m). The presence of dual solutions in velocity and temperature fields for certain values of wall thickness parameter (β) and velocity power index (m) are revealed by this study.
The study examined the use of two different types of glass fibres - Alkali Resistant (AR) Glass Fibre and Electronic Grade (E) Glass Fibre as reinforcement in soils to improve its strength. Glass ...fibre reinforcement causes a marginal change in the plastic nature and compaction behaviour of the reinforced soil. Also, the addition of fibres renders the soil less sensitive to moisture changes. Fibre inclusion promotes ductile behaviour of reinforced soil. Unreinforced soil fails with distinct shear plane while reinforced soil shows multi-shear failure and bulging with a network of minor cracks bridged with fibres. The results of this study show that random inclusion of fibres improve the unconfined compressive strength of the reinforced soil and it's energy absorption capacity. The optimum glass fibre content is observed to be 0.75% for both AR glass fibre and E glass fibre. AR glass fibre performs better than E glass fibre for all proportions of fibre inclusion investigated.
In recent years poly methyl aniline has been reported as one of the efficient corrosion inhibitors of mild steel in acidic media. In view of the major limitation of the insolubility of polymethyl ...aniline PMA, we propose to convert PMA into a water soluble composite using supporting polymer polyvinylpyrrolidone to get higher solubility and corrosion inhibition efficiency. The water soluble composite poly(vinylpyrrolidone-methyl aniline) was synthesized by chemical oxidative polymerization and its inhibitive effect on mild steel in 1M HCl has been investigated using weight loss and electrochemical techniques (potentiodynamic polarization studies and impedance spectroscopy). SEM and EDX analyses are carried out to establish a protective film formation on the metal surface.
