The quantitative relationship between residential environment and residents' health has been studied by taking the residential districts in Hefei new district of government administration as the ...research target. Data and information related to residential environment and residents' health were obtained through field investigation and questionnaire survey. The correlation of each factor was tested by single factor variance analysis, and the multiple regression model was used to analyse residential areas. The richness of plant species was negatively correlated with the health of residents, the appreciation of plants was positively correlated with the health of residents, and the air quality was negatively correlated with the health of residents. In the design of residential area, we should strengthen the appreciation of plants, avoid overuse of plant varieties, and pay attention to the role of plants in improving air quality.
This study aimed to determine the correlation between fetal fraction (FF) of cell-free DNA (cf-DNA) and pregnancy complications related to placental dysfunction in Twin Pregnancy.
This retrospective ...cohort study analyzed twin pregnant women who underwent non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) at 12
-26
weeks of gestation from April 2017 to April 2021. Low fetal fraction (LFF) was defined individually as less than the 25th, 10th, 5th, and 2.5th percentile among all fetal fractions in the cohort. Primary outcomes included gestational hypertension (GH), preeclampsia (PE), gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), and small for gestational age (SGA). Logistic regression analysis was used to assess the relationship between LFF and pregnancy complications.
A total of 500 twin pregnancies (male-male twins, 245; female-female twins, 255) were included in this study. In LFF group (FF < 25th percentiles), maternal BMI was significantly higher than FF > 75th percentiles (23.6 kg/m
vs. 21.3 kg/m
;
< 0.001). The risk of SGA increased gradually from FF < 25th percentiles adjusted odds ratio (OR), 1.71; 95% confidence interval (CI), 1.07-2.99;
= 0.016 to FF < 2.5th percentiles (adjusted OR, 4.44; 95% CI,1.33-14.82;
< 0.015). In addition, the risks of SGA in both fetuses were higher than the risks of at least one fetus SGA in LFF group. LFF had no correlation with GH, PE, and GDM in twin pregnancy.
LFF has a strong association with increased risk of SGA in twin pregnancy. Moreover, FF of cf-DNA may provide a new idea for the early screening of diseases related to placental dysfunction in twin pregnancy.
The novel coronavirus, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), infected over 3300 healthcare workers in early 2020 in China. Little information is known about nosocomial ...infections of healthcare workers in the initial period. We analysed data from healthcare workers with nosocomial infections in Wuhan Union Hospital (Wuhan, China) and their family members.
We collected and analysed data on exposure history, illness timelines and epidemiological characteristics from 25 healthcare workers with laboratory-confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and two healthcare workers in whom COVID-19 was highly suspected, as well as 10 of their family members with COVID-19, between 5 January and 12 February 2020. The demographics and clinical features of the 35 laboratory-confirmed cases were investigated and viral RNA of 12 cases was sequenced and analysed.
Nine clusters were found among the patients. All patients showed mild to moderate clinical manifestation and recovered without deterioration. The mean period of incubation was 4.5 days, the mean±sd clinical onset serial interval (COSI) was 5.2±3.2 days, and the median virus shedding time was 18.5 days. Complete genomic sequences of 12 different coronavirus strains demonstrated that the viral structure, with small irrelevant mutations, was stable in the transmission chains and showed remarkable traits of infectious traceability.
SARS-CoV-2 can be rapidly transmitted from person to person, regardless of whether they have symptoms, in both hospital settings and social activities, based on the short period of incubation and COSI. The public health service should take practical measures to curb the spread, including isolation of cases, tracing close contacts, and containment of severe epidemic areas. Besides this, healthcare workers should be alert during the epidemic and self-quarantine if self-suspected of infection.

Abstract
Developing a universal strategy to design piezochromic luminescent materials with desirable properties remains challenging. Here, we report that insertion of a non-emissive molecule into a ...donor (perylene) and acceptor (1,2,4,5-tetracyanobezene) binary cocrystal can realize fine manipulation of intermolecular interactions between perylene and 1,2,4,5-tetracyanobezene (TCNB) for desirable piezochromic luminescent properties. A continuous pressure-induced emission enhancement up to 3 GPa and a blue shift from 655 to 619 nm have been observed in perylene-TCNB cocrystals upon THF insertion, in contrast to the red-shifted and quenched emission observed when compressing perylene-TCNB cocrystals and other cocrystals reported earlier. By combining experiment with theory, it is further revealed that the inserted non-emissive THF forms blue-shifting hydrogen bonds with neighboring TCNB molecules and promote a conformation change of perylene molecules upon compression, causing the blue-shifted and enhanced emission. This strategy remains valid when inserting other molecules as non-emissive component into perylene-TCNB cocrystals for abnormal piezochromic luminescent behaviors.
Two-dimensional metal-organic framework (MOF) has the advantages of high mass transfer speed, tunable porosity, and strong electron transfer capability. The different metal center can give MOF with ...good electrochemical activity because of the mulriple valence state. Here, a simple and economical method was used to successfully prepare a different metal-coordinated two-dimensional (2D) MOF with electrochemical exfoliated graphene (EG) at room temperature. As the electrode material for the nonenzymatic glucose sensor, the modified MOF/EG electrode had high electrocatalytic activity for glucose sensing. Thereinto, the nonenzymatic Co-MOF/EG sensor had nice detection performance with wide linear range (1.0–3330 μM) and minimum detection limit (0.58 μM, S/N = 3). The detection response in alkaline solution was less than 0.9 s. Most importantly, the stability and conductivity of the Co-MOF/EG were much higher than Ni-MOF/EG and NiCo-MOF/EG. The oxidation potential of Co-MOF/EG for glucose was the lowest, and the detection performance was the best at low oxidation potential of 0.2 V. The coordination unsaturated metal ion was the main active center of glucose electrocatalysis. We believe that the illustrated MOF/EG was an effective strategy for creating an active multi-phase catalyst with atomic precision.

Surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensors have great advantages in real-time and in-situ gas detection due to the inherent advantages of passive and wireless operation. This inevitably requires the sensor ...to improve gas sensing performances at room temperature. The facet engineering of metal oxide (MOS) provided an effective way to obtain MOS gas-sensitive materials with superior performance by the facet-dependent properties. Here, we developed a novel strategy to prepare SnO2 quantum wires with different (110) facets ratio by adjusting the synthesis time. The as-prepared SnO2 quantum wires were integrated into SAW devices to optimize the performance of the gas sensor. When the synthesis time was 8 h, the response of the SAW gas sensor was enhanced with the frequency change of 17 kHz, the response and recovery times of 45 s and 96 s, respectively. Our experimental results revealed that the effect of mass loading was the responsible underlying mechanism for the superior NO2 gas sensing performances. In addition, the adsorption and charge transfer properties between the SnO2 surface and NO2 molecules were further discussed by QCM and resistance measurement, respectively. The calculation of density functional theory (DFT) also proves the adsorption energy of NO2 on the SnO2 (110) facet is larger than the (101) facet and (211) facet, indicating that the (110) facet is more beneficial to the adsorption of NO2 molecules. This indicated that the facet engineering of MOS by facet-dependent properties to enhance gas sensitivity may open new opportunities for the design of SAW sensor.

This paper develops a novel failure probability-based global sensitivity index by introducing the Bayes formula into the moment-independent global sensitivity index to approximate the effect of input ...random variables or stochastic processes on the time-variant reliability. The proposed global sensitivity index can estimate the effect of uncertain inputs on the time-variant reliability by comparing the difference between the unconditional probability density function of input variables and the conditional probability density function in failure state of input variables. Furthermore, a single-loop active learning Kriging method combined with metamodel-based importance sampling is employed to improve the computational efficiency. The accuracy of the results obtained by Kriging model is verified by the reference results provided by the Monte Carlo simulation. Four examples are investigated to demonstrate the significance of the proposed failure probability-based global sensitivity index and the effectiveness of the computational method.

Adhesion to the gastrointestinal tract is considered to be important for bifidobacteria to colonize the human gut and exert their probiotic effects. Some cell surface proteins of bifidobacteria, ...known as adhesins, play critical roles in the binding to host cells or the extracellular matrix (ECM). To elucidate the mechanisms associated with the adhesion of
BBMN68, a centenarian originated potential probiotic, PSORTdb was employed to identify putative extracellular localized proteins in the
BBMN68. Of the 560 predicted extracellular proteins, 21 were further identified as putative adhesion proteins using the conserved domain database of NCBI, and four were successfully overexpressed in the heterologous host,
NZ9000. Notably, a recombinant strain expressing FimM showed a significantly increased adhesive affinity for both HT-29 and mucus-secreting LS174T goblet cells (2.2- and 5.4-fold higher than that of the control strain, respectively). Amino acid sequence alignment showed that FimM is a major pilin subunit protein containing a Cna-B type domain and a C-terminal LPKTG sequence. However,
analysis of the
-coding cluster revealed that
, encoding a pilus-specific class C sortase, was a pseudogene, indicating that FimM may function as a surface adhesin that cannot polymerize into a pili-like structure. Immunogold electron microscopy results further confirmed that FimM localized to the surface of
NZfimM and
BBMN68 but did not assemble into pilus filaments. Moreover, the adhesive affinity of
NZfimM to fibronectin, fibrinogen, and mucin were 3.8-, 2.1-, and 3.1-fold higher than that of the control. The affinity of FimM for its attachment receptors was further verified through an inhibition assay using anti-FimM antibodies. In addition, homologs of FimM were found in
85B,
CACC 514, and 23 other
strains by sequence similarity analysis using BLASTP. Our results suggested that FimM is a novel surface adhesin that is mainly present in
strains.
